Quite an impressive and beautiful piece, Ryan. Love the alterations in design along the way. A lot of work into this, and it was well worth it ! And the music accompanying this video and painting was well chosen. You transported me , thru both sight and sound.
how he braid his beard with lion hands? hehe, simply amazing. you my friend is a great inspiration for newbies in painting like me. I wish you all the luck in the world, keep up the great work and God bless you.
i love hte way you handle oil painting, your workflow is organic and you sometimes rework 2 or 3 times the same area to get the desire effect. This is a big proof of patience and mind clarity, i can't see shit after 2 passes on my work :D. This painting is gorgeous Ryan and i can't wait to see more of you in the future!
Unfortunately it's a grey area. There are very hardworking ADs and writers at WotC and it's not my intellectual property to share. But what you see is pretty much what they asked for:)
No, everything here was my decision. They approved the initial sketch, and once it goes to paint, it's on me. They can request revisions after it's done, but they didn't with this one.
it's such a shame you don't have more views, you have a great channel and very inspiring. Keep up the good work! Love your cards!
This really inspires me, I hope you know that
Сколько раз смотрю, этот спидпейнт мой любимый. Настолько вдохновляющте работы у вас, что мне самой хочется начать работать. Спасибо за ваш труд!

I love the card simply because the art is amazing and now seeing the painting it's even more stunning! Amazing job.
Yes, `I absolutely agree ! There must be millions of views! Its amazing art! True Master!
Beautiful!
I would have been proud if I could make the piece at 2 minutes in... absolutely masterful detail towards the end!
This is one of the pieces I like the most from your work. It's so majestic and imposing. I'm stunned
I can't even begin to imagine how you'd come up with all these little individual design elements, it adds so much to the feeling of the image though.
thanks!
Stunning piece of work and great colours.

Yeah, its a frustrating way to work, too. But I have no problem reworking something until its done.
Amazing artwork and concept.
Really Nice !!
That was amazing to watch !!! Great job Ryan!
I love the detail on his paws 🐾 Happy new year.
Very good painting. Very impressive.🖒👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Amazing work , my question is, you cover first the complete piece whit a thin layer of paint to make it easier to put the next layer of paint?
Very nice!
Care to share the art description?
I'm curious about what question led to this answer.
Yeah, unfortunately the art description is not really mine to share, since it's not my intellectual property. Sorry!
Damn!!! This was good
1:30 in the video and I thought painting was great!!!!
amazing work, as always
Nifty, watching revisions and decisions.
why do u do the underpaint?
I would LOVE to know more about the art direction behind this card! Are you allowed to share?
He has a gumroad video that explains the entire process for this: gumroad.com/l/DLrEh

Espectacular 💗
Great job!
Amazing! Why the gloves though?
Probably because he doesn't want to get paint on his hands.
Solvents, heavy metals ... all stuff I don't want on my skin, especially around my kids.
Were the revisions based on requests by WOTC or just your own judgment?
No, everything here was my decision. They approved the initial sketch, and once it goes to paint, it's on me. They can request revisions after it's done, but they didn't with this one.
This is beautiful! I'm sorry for asking but how long did it take from start to finish?
Waaaaaaaay too long.
Awesome
