My mom used milk or half and half if she had it instead of the water to mix the soup and it was so creamy. She also mixed the tuna and peas into the soup after it was heated and then added it to the noodles before she baked it with crushed Ritz crackers tossed with melted butter on top.
Tuna casserole was my favourite thing growing up my mom would use basically the same ingredients as you however she used kraft dinner instead of plain pasta and would add frozen peas to the mix
I love your videos so much. You both are so sweet. I’m not the best cook. So this is a great starter recipe to begin with. Please, please post more cooking or baking videos. Much appreciated and happy new year!!
speaking of Jiffy corn muffins at ~8:30 - did you know that Jiffy contains lard? I was surprised to discover this a few days ago. Also, it's EXCELLENT to mix Jiffy into ice cream. Love it!
I use frozen veggies like broccoli or spinach so I don't have to make a salad on the side when I am in a rush. Always feed my kids fresh veggies as long as I have the time, but between work, soccer games and being a single dad cant always get everything done by dinner. Also you can mix in some bisquick into the mix
I make mine with cream of mushroom soup fill the can with milk and cut up 4 oz of Velveeta cheese and melt it slowly in the soup and milk mixture with two cans of tuna boil the noodles once done add the sauce mixture to the noodles and serve with peas it is amazing no baking in oven it's great for a weeknight meal
From someone who hates washing dishing but loves to cook I would have not dirty a pan to heat cream of mushroom that will heat in oven and even if u wanted it heated first can still use to pan everything got mixed into for that. But anyway keep recipes coming I will be making this just with 1 pot and 1 pan lol and i will serve on paper plates lol.
I agree Peas and carrots goes well in this dish too. Thanks for the recipe. I also melt about a 1/4 cup of melted butter to the crushed crackers before adding on casserole.
8:28 The opening scene in the movie Big Night has a woman in an Italian restaurant ordering risotto with a side of spaghetti. The cook is outraged and refuses to make it because it's too much starch. "Maybe I should make mashed potatoes for the other side." It's pretty funny 😁
Hi Tami. I like mine a little more creamy and I add peas and top it off with bread crumbs instead of crackers. This is a classic old school dish. Very popular in the 70's and for Lent meals! Tfs and sending Cali love. XOXO :)
I’m pretty sure my 11 years olds switch to becoming a vegetarian was 73% based on trying to avoid tuna noodle casserole! My eight year old would eat it everyday. We add frozen peas to ours and sometimes do plain potato chips on top (to keep it classy and healthy of course).
I make mine with cheese like Mac &cheese with peas in mine I add worsterschire sauce in mine even without cheese but I put the peas in and serve with applesauce
i like to use French's crispy fried onions on top of my tuna casserole and sometimes add peas and carrots. i love tuna casserole in general with some Kings Hawaiian rolls on the side. mmmmm! getting hungry right now. 😆
Looks delicious. I don't put mine in the oven. I cook the corn and macaroni and add them together with the tuna. Then I add mayo and spices. Sometimes I've added peas with it. Like you, I have added crumbled crackers on top sometimes.
Yes, I will add however much shredded cheese I have on hand! We love our cheese in America's Dairyland. The broccoli sounds awesome as well, am sure I have done this once or twice.
Yes they are. If you cannot eat it all at once, it is best to add these ingredients in two baking dishes and only add the crackers to one dish at a time.
I like Aerosmith, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, REM, Tom Petty, Coldplay, Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Queen .... I could go on ;)
Mmmm, I grew up eating tuna casserole. I found a recipe online a couple years ago but it was very involved and pricey. There’s no need for that! I did like how it said to add some peas (not a lot) in the casserole. I would probably add them when I use your recipe here. The color was fun and I don’t eat peas on their own otherwise. 🥴
I use the same ingredients but mix the tuna in with the soup, add the noodles, mix up and pour it all in the casserole dish at once. Wouldn't that be easier?
I am wondering why someone would discard the tuna "juice" and then add plain water to the soup? That is me though, after reading some hippie cookbook from the seventies I try to never discard cooking water of any kind. Supposedly it contains a lot of good stuff!
Hey tami random request but if you find the Rudolph the red nosed reindeer official snack mix could you review it please? Its got peanut butter filled chocolate shapes and pretzels and peanuts sounds amazing and the packaging is so cute, also gonna watch national lampoon's Christmas vacation tonight 😁 will let you know my if we enjoyed it on tomorrow's vlog comments
Hi Tami !! Remember me?? I'm your viewer that lives in Oak Grove, Kentucky. Remember I asked you how far you were from me....Lol. Well I've kinda been having a love/hate relationship with Tuna casserole herd lately. The last time I made it I had put too much of an onion in it, I was disgusted. Now I just boil my noodles and mix everything together and bake it, I usually include fresh mushrooms in mine, as we love them, onion as I said and alot of tuna, I love Tuna. I also add pepper, a little garlic, and onion powder if I'm not adding real onion. But I don't know I'm just not feeling it, I've never even heard of Saltine crackers being used but I bet it would be yummy with those included. And I also have never heated up my soup on the stove top, I would think adding water to the soup would make it too watery ?? I don't know..... HELP !!! LOL. P.s. Your rockin that AC/DC sweatshirt too by the way !! Lol
I was always taught to add 1/2 can of water to any of the Campbell's Soups. So, no matter what it is, I use 1/2 can of water. It has never been too watery for us :) I have never used onion with my casserole, but you can have whatever you want in it. I make mine the cheapest way possible.
thanks clear and simple
😊 thank you

To make a different version, my mom would use Kraft macaroni & cheese and also add celery.
@@TamiDunn I like to use cream of celery soup.
I made this for dinner today and it came out just like how my mom used to make it. Very delicious 😋
Great vid, like your style 👍😃✌️🇺🇸
Thank you so much!
I have crushed up + used leftover potato chips...an added flavor....thanks👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
I love this idea! Thank you!
I make mine exactly the same i love it thats what im having for dinner
I love your videos so much. You both are so sweet. I’m not the best cook. So this is a great starter recipe to begin with. Please, please post more cooking or baking videos. Much appreciated and happy new year!!

I had no idea!
Jiff has vegetarian now.
Wait! I know lard is "good" now. But you are saying to mix the Jiffy mix into ice cream? Sounds interesting.
@@winstonsmith502 yeah, Jiffy is good in ice cream. The vegetarian version tastes better mixed in. The lard version has more of an aftertaste unbaked
Love me some tuna casserole! So good!!
I use frozen veggies like broccoli or spinach so I don't have to make a salad on the side when I am in a rush. Always feed my kids fresh veggies as long as I have the time, but between work, soccer games and being a single dad cant always get everything done by dinner. Try it with potato chips yummy
That sounds great!
Your cats would love the tuna juice
I have offered it to him in the past, but he wouldn't drink it. Maybe because it's in water? I'm not sure.
That was a weekly meal at my house when I was younger. We would add cheese and crushed potato chips on top.
dani 69 me too and sweet peas :)

Tuna casserole is my fav comfort food.
I add frozen peas and sour cream to mine, so good!

I bet bread crumbs are good!
Got this in the oven now ❤ used cream of chicken though I added peas carrots and cheese.
Yes! "Cream of Anything" works just fine.
At daycare they put peas in it and potato chips on top. When I made it, I just added canned soup to hot wet noodles, less mess!
Oh yummy! Thank you Tammi! I love tuna Noodle Casserole! I grew up eating this meal and it’s a very good and budget friendly meal!
I don't like mushrooms so I use cream of chicken soup. I also add corn and put corn flakes on top.
Will have to try that, Thanks!
If you get the chunk white albacore tuna can it doesn't taste nearly as fishy as the others.. the recipe looked yummy!
Would add milk instead

This looks like an easy and delicious recipe! Question: When you reheat leftovers in the microwave, do the crackers on top get soggy?
Yes they are. If you cannot eat it all at once, it is best to add these ingredients in two baking dishes and only add the crackers to one dish at a time.
Thanks For The Recipe '-p
Nice AC/DC hoodie. What other rock bands do you or Kevin like? :P

A good student meal. Although I've just made a one ingredient pizza. Basically I bought a pizza. 😐😉

I cannot wait to hear what you think of it!!
Cheese?
Nope not allowed in my house
Noodles are disgusting and worm-like. I make my tuna casserole with potato chips.
