The King of Fighters XIII combo video showcasing what Athena Asamiya is capable of, be that old, new, practical or impractical.
COMMENTS
I tried to delay Athena for as long as I could simply because I couldn't think of anything to optimize on. With KoF XIV nearing its release and the roster almost completed, I felt it was the time to give up and just release her final version. The only difference was that I added the KO effect for the last combo which was missing in the version before it. If I had that in there, I could've just plaster the FINAL VERSION thumbnail and be done with it, but I'm a perfectionist afterall. But don't worry, the next character in the lineup will be made from pretty much scratch so expect a lot of new and optimized stuff compared to the older version. I do have to keep my releases balanced afterall.

Fact - Athena Asamiya is inspired by Saint Seiya and Athena's Exceed move in SVC Chaos is named “Pegasus Fantasy”, a reference to the first opening song of Saint Seiya anime series, which also features an incarnation of the Greek Goddess of same name.
The aforementioned Saint Seiya franchise features an incarnation of mentioned/said goddess as a purple-haired young girl may have originally inspired the SNK character, as both first appeared within the same year.

It's really a shame and odd that she was not used very often in the competitive sense. Her combo potential was off the chart among the best in this combo-heavy game.
Misterio and Romance both played her at a high level.

What controller do you use to play with the game?
There is no way anyone can do this in a real fight. The computer is just standing there.
Once you get the first hit in anywhere in a real fight then its over.

After getting more familiar with the series, especially 98 and KoF XV, I kinda get it, why XIII was considered on of the weirdest entries in this series - the combos are wild.
