Hulk Hogan in 3 years: "That whole heel Rock with the Bloodline angle was my idea brother".
Or maybe it wasn't dude
Or maybe it WAS Dude 💪😎
😅😅
You get together bloodline and face off against Cody brother? NOW WE’RE COOKING! 💪 😎
Hulk Hogan: I was in on the JFK assassination dude!
Sincere question: Did Dave write a retraction or only remove it? As a former journalist myself there NEEDS to be a retraction written somewhere if it hasn't been already
He never writes retractions on any of his mistakes
Yeah but Dave has become a modern journo, so everything he writes becomes the truth
He sold out and bends his spine for aew everytime he needs to, he has no integrity
Dave is not a journalist. He's a podcaster fanboy. He just proved that this week.
that rock promo on smackdown was awesome glad rock is back as Hollywood rock my only isssue is that rock didn't have his Hollywood rock theme hopefully they save that for wrestlemania night one wouldn't that be awesome to see.
It'll almost certainly only last until Mania but these next few weeks will still be fun. Getting cheered as a heel is no issue, Rock always got that reaction as the charismatic villain people love to hate. His best wrestling work since 2003, by miles.
Hopefully he can get back in the swing of things soon.. It was nice seeing Hollywood Rock back but that promo was a little iffy... It made no logical sense to do a "You gotta earn your spot" promo against the guy who won the rumble...
Rock vs Reigns is the money match… period
The thing is, Rock is the biggest name/star/anything in wrestling right now. Any active wrestler you name, none of them are at his level in Worldwide or national stardom.
So even people going the show thinking they are going to jump on the Rocky sucks train, once that guy comes out it’s “holy shit it’s The Rock” and you just lose yourself in it
Hollywood Rock is Back Jabroni 😎
Dave's lost his touch
They’re showing how you garner interest and sell tickets
Tony Kahn should be taking notes.
A week ago you guys were debating on wether or not the slap at the press conference was actually a heel turn or not. Rock literally slaps the biggest baby face in the company and you wonder if he’s a heel or not? Wrestling journalism is pitiful. You guys are the biggest marks on the planet that have no more insight than a random guy off the street😂
So true….
The truth is Dave has no more “insiders” in the WWE locker room. He’s reporting what his mind “thinks” is going on.
He’s worse than a politician. At least politicians have the intelligence and wit to give a “nothing” answer without rambling on with 4 million “you know’s” and “kind of’”.
Forgot the dozens of “but…but’s”
Agreed. None of these guys have been in the business. They’re essentially fans. Fans of really bad wrestling.
It’s the easiest thing in the world to avoid. Yet you seek out his content.
@@gregamania1327 it took all of fifteen seconds to write my comment dude. I don’t “seek out his content”. I dropped by here to post about how stupid he is.
He turning on Roman.
I’m glad my kids get to experience the REAL rock
“FINALLY YOUR LIFE HAS MEANING”😂😂😂
So in the last year Dave has:
Blatantly lied about the Punk and Moxley issue and had to retract that but defended it by saying he was talking under his own name on his own message board rather than as a "news report". 😂
Got the stuff about TNA completely wrong. Immediately corrected by everyone involved.
Got the mexican wrestler stuff on AEW wrong. However he tries to explain it.
And now has been hoodwinked and rushed to breathlessly try to get this out as some exclusive.
And on twitter he is constantly defending AEW. Almost every tweet is him defending tiny tony, or something other nonsense about them.
Dude is genuinely embarrassing himself at this point. Is making alvarez look fair and balanced in his views!! Who would have thunk it.
Marks are so obsessed with AEW and Dave Meltzer. Go outside and touch some grass.
You wrote a paragraph in UA-cam comments, go outside
Meltzer is a joke. He should get called out on his BS more often
Dave did so much investigating in this story that a 10 year old clip made it past his Sherlock Holmes skills all for click bait
How did he fall for that old clip
Hair dye
Goes to show you how little he pays attention to the industry he covers.
Cause he’s an idiot
The grand poohbah of the wannabe smarks ain't very smart.
Is that the clip he fell for? A nearly 10 year old Smackdown segment? ZERO attention to detail from Meltzer. More lies, rumors, innuendo, and bullshit. The saddest thing is, people still eat it up!
Listening to Dave here he clearly has no idea what WWE is doing like the rest of us. He keeps mumbling the obvious stuff and somehow gets paid for his thoughts.
Cause people are stupid 😂😂😂
@@Koopa13 - And here you guys are watching and clicking on Dave's stuff you call stupid...😅
You guys should fine Dave $1 every time he says “You know.”
Imagine watching the Rock and Reigns do monster numbers then accidently change the channel and stumble upon Rampage 😂 AEW is trash 😂😂
Rampage has more wrestling than WWE SmackDown. WWE is trash.
Cody: I am challenging Roman Reigns *AFTER I WON ROYAL RUMBLE AND IT'S MY RIGHT TO CHOOSE*
The Rock: Cody is asking for *"Re-match of last year's Wrestlemania"* that he lost and it doesn't work this way.
Me: Who started writing this nonsense crap for The Rock? 🤨🤨🤡🤡
He said Cody's story was ending and his and Romans was just beginning. Rock is clearly turning on Roman at Mania to set them up for Mania 41. Strap in boys
What would be the logic there? First Rock helps Cody beats Roman so Cody's win is less meaningful, second why would Rock shock turn on Roman when there have been no reasons. I think it makes more sense to have Roman turn on Rock so Roman gets to play heel, you write off Rock for as long as you want and he can come back to fight Roman as a baby face
@@blablablaa14 they're gonna build tension before Mania. Let em cook lil bro
@@blablablaa14Rock turning on Roman makes perfect sense Cody told Roman he’s gonna take everything from him that includes his Tribal Chief title which Rock will fight Roman to see who sits at the Head of The Table
You REALLY CAN knock Davey M’s clips in half, if you remove all his stammering, and all of his stop-start incomplete sentences…it’s insane people look to him for ‘knowledge’
Just a guessing game outside AEW for you, Davey…you aren’t an employee anywhere else.
How Dave has a podcast is beyond me. He can't fucking talk coherently and says you know incessantly.
Has Dave apologized yet for his incompetent reporting?
Never has, never will.
Ya know , ya know , ya know..no Dave we DONT know if you're babbling and not making any sense
Luckily peacock removed HHH dressed up as “The Crock” or Dave would have been very confused
Dave fell for a 10 year old clip 😆 🤣 😂. 12.99 for this insight jesus christ uncle dave 😂😂😂
As plugged in as he presents himself to be, he really does just make shit up based on gut feelings.
Try writing stories on so many different things in one week. Its an honest mistake.
I liked it. It might get old in a couple of weeks, but I smiled when I saw the shirt (vest) lol.
Me too. A mix of the Hollywood Rock best and the $500 shirts.
Umm no people are cheering because it reminds them of 2003 Hollywood rock
Really I mean as much as the fans cheered for Cody and booed Rock when the whole thing happened, if there was an in-ring face to face with both guys talking, Rock would destroy Cody and people would cheer him.
the thing is people weren't booing Rock cos they hated him, they were booing him because they wanted Cody to fight Roman and not him and the way it was done did him no favors... I think it woulda been better for Rock to endorse Cody and stay face.... he didn't have to turn heel to fix this situation.
Imagine “The Rock” being a good heel when literally he got over as “The Rock” by being a good heel. Dirtsheets are so woke they fall asleep again.
Did Dave dye his hair darker? Thought it was more gray
Meltzer sounds he rubbed one out after seeing the rock
He was heel on Pat McAfee
He didn't turn Friday
As far as what we expect from Meltzer when there's an error in the Observer, that's not an impossible problem. There is a journalistic standard for that. You leave the error in and write up and add a retraction indicating where you were wrong. Deleting it looks like trying to gaslight your audience into thinking you never made an error. A retraction would just say what you said here without forcing your audience to seek a youtube video for additional context.
What was the error?
Journalistic standards? With Dave? 😂
@@MillyBitchell Where do we start?
@MillyBitchell He describes it in the video, but briefly someone sent him video of a Rock/HHH confrontation from 10 years ago and he discussed it in the Observer thinking it was from the Vegas press conference.
Meltzer needs to retire he’s getting a ton of stories wrong
If Rock really wanted to get booed he'd change his babyface song and drop all his old catchphrases.
I thought the same thing. Hopefully he does what it takes to change the character because he’s just retreading old ground. Roman and Paul need to get in his ear and tell him he just needs to talk much like Nash and Hall had to tell Hogan.
@@uncouthliyouth4486 He needs to play off what got him heat. He needs to be more corporate and talk about how he is going to use his position for only the benefit of him and his family. Going out there and acting like its 1999 will not get boos.
It’ll do the opposite. Nostalgia will cause cheers.
Rock could do to roman what he did to Farooq
Shut up Dave and know your Role
Hope Goldberg returns to spear Cody and cost him title and ruin his story at WrestleMania
That promo was classic , The Rock reminded everyone there is levels and Roman is no where near his level .
The Rock is on his own level
Roman is a far better promo than Rock at this point. He made some good points and got a little cheap heat. Ultimately he didn’t get booed. Hogan at Bash at the Beach it was not. It came off as hokey and a rehash of his old heel character. It was all memberberrys
That's great for the future. I guess he's doing what Hogan did to him in 2002 lol
People cheered rock because he is so good on the mic, his charisma makes people cheer him, he is one of the all time greats, reigns in comparison had to turn heel to get to where he is now. He just doesn’t have that charisma, haven’t got anything against reigns, he’s good but rock is at a higher level.
@@BryRobinsonWow you're so cool and edgey
1:53: "But um... the it it's you know... It's just he he's he's it we you know..."
Okay, Biden.
This dude is a clown
# Cody crybaby's
I have no idea how Rock hasn’t exploded from all of the roids and HGH he’s pumped into his body.
Rock proving that Vince's booking isnt the only reason modern wrestling has sucked for so long. The guys now, even the better ones like Cody and Roman, dont have 1/10th of the presence and x-factor of the attitude era stars.
Ironically, Cody's return at Mania 38 overshadowed AUSTIN'S in-ring return after more than 2 decades.
And now, Cody is so charismatic that he literally turned fans against The Rock. Fans have been clamouring for The Rock vs Roman for about 5 years now and even last year, but Cody was able to turn them against him.
Those two guys were the biggest stars of the AE and Cody overshadowed them both.
@@aviwegexa9031 ....that was not Austin actually returning in any serious way, lmao.
And it's not really Cody himself outshining the rock as a performer, but the whole context surrounding him and his long term booking, which people didn't want ruined by the single worst time Rock could have picked to steal the main event.
They would have booed a prime Steve Austin fresh out of a time machine against Daniel Bryan at wrestlemania 30 too, because of the buildup. That doesn't mean Bryan was ever anywhere near as charismatic as Austin.
@@ycnl8768 that was literally Austin returning in the best way and meaningful way possible pal. People thought Austin would NEVER wrestle again and have been begging him for more than 2 decades and he finally did and you say it wasn't meaningful? The hell? It wasn't "meaningful" because Cody's return buried it on the headlines of the show.
And Cody DID turn fans against Rock and you know it, the reason doesn't matter, fact is he DID turn them against Rock. And yes its because of his charisma, if he didn't have any then fans wouldn't be behind him.
I'm not saying he is as big as them ( he will never be as big) but that makes this even more special. If he was close to their starpower, then that could be understandable that he would overshadow them, but doing it while not even half as big means more.
Cody is big too man, just AE fans who don't want to replace their childhood memories so they reject everything that is a threat to their precious AE, others like us moved on.
Btw, Cody created a movement when he was instrumental in creating AEW. AEW's formation shook the entire foundation of the wrestling world and it gave WWE the much needed kick in the ass to actually try on their shows and guess what was the results? WWE making more money than EVER before (including the AE) and being even hotter than back then.
Point is, you can biasly choose to deny it, but Cody is rubbing shoulders against these two giants and he even overshadowed them.
Not sure if it’s deliberate but when Rock is in the ring Roman looks like little brother.
Idk if they purposely wanna make their longest reigning dominant champ of this generation the 2nd guy in the room but since press conference, that's how it's been coming across. This does feel a little bit like more focus on rock and Cody and roman is just there
Bottom line, Cody should have finished his story last year. And if Dwayne wanted to face Roman, Cody shouldn’t have given up his rumble spot like a beta male. Cody shouldn’t have said, “but not at wrestlemania” Dwayne should have came out and challenged Cody for his Rumble spot, and Rollins should have cost Cody the match thus making Cody want revenge against Rollins at Mania. But by making Cody step aside for Dwayne it enraged the fans and resent Dwayne for abusing his power.
The vince/ashley story is more important but not BIGGER than Rock cody roman. dave and Post Wrestling are the only ones focusing on the vince stuff. They keep trying to say is biggest story in Wrestling it isnt, saying its being than beniot story. BENIOT story was in major news networks for 2 months. Is it sad yes, should vince stuff be bigger Yes but its not. So to keep saying its the biggest story in wrestling isnt true. Regular news didnt care after a day and wrestling fans as a whole moved on after we want cody.
Love It Bryan Alvarez And Dave Meltzer F4WOnline Guys.
How many times does Dave need to get shit WRONG tho for one to realize much of his shit is misinformation and/or inaccurate conjecture. This isnt the old days where he has all this backstage info thats fed to him and its all reliable. His sources arent as solid, and he runs w bullshit and the barest of evidence nowadays
SmackDown was a lameduck show. Even the Bloodline segment was a total bore. Nothing was really revealed or advanced - and sure, they have time, but this just felt like a waste. If you can miss a show and feel like you really didn't miss anything, well, that says something
The Rock only had legit heat when it seemed like he had been parachuted in to ruin Cody's story. But as soon as people saw the Rock isn't that dumb and things were adjusted everyone feels happy to support him again. It was only ever about legit screwing over Cody and that's been resolved
100% but credit to him for pivoting
Great, instead of The Nation of Domination we have ED ROCK or NATION OF DEPENDS -- go away 💩
Its clear he's going to cost Roman the title at WM. This is Tyson turning on DX at WM14. Idk why people cant see this
Fans should start cheering him now just to fuck with WWE.
"Finally the Rock has made the Bloodline interesting again!!" 😆🤣👍
The rock heel turn wasn't as good as his original heel rock turn with Goldberg and hogan. Feels forced and not natural 😊
Someone get Dave a god damn mic stand already! Jeez, this your first podcast Dave?
Salt lake audience is more likely to cheer the Rock ..Philly at Mania full of smarks .....not so much
Meltzer is prob the reason these crybaby snowflakes make a fuss of rock Vs reigns which is what everyone wants to see
I just wish he wouldn’t recycle the same jokes from 97-03
I watch this but i cant stand dave he a leach on the buisness tonys cheque in the post dave honestly its embarrassing
Unpopular opinion I didn't like it so 2003
We can do roman rock but Cody has to win the wwe title we ain’t waiting any longer
This is The Rock that's needed - Heel Rock is the best Rock :)
A bunch of shoes to fall. . . .
are they high? They were not cheering after he mentioned the 50 wives
The largest collection of trailer park trash popped me
The worst promo ive ever seen the Rock cut by far!
Comment tester - this video is fantastic and inclusive
Rock was always better heel tho. Corporate rock used to get cheered like crazy
Then that is not being a good heel, any heel being cheered is not a good one.
I would love Rock final match against Roman to be at Survivor Series. You can put Cody with the title in some 5 on 5 match and close the show with Roman beating Rock, in the same event that he debuted in
Survivor series is a special event for Rock. It’s where he had his debut (as you said), where he won his first championship (1998 vs Mankind), and where he had his first match after 7 years (tag w/Cena)
Dave literally put in a tweet that the rock wasn't popular then here talks his star power
You can't make this up lol dude doesn't know
If he wants to be booed shout out Vince McMahon lol

The Crock
I haven't really watched wrestling in years but I still like to keep up with the news. I'm actually kinda surprised that Rock did this considering his movie career. I'm guessing he envisioned coming back, having a good patch and putting Roman over - not getting booed and having his last run be as a heel. Granted, most people know can separate wrestling from reality but I could still see it bleeding over into his box office. I'm sure they have something planned where Rock ends up a babyface when this is all said and done.
I can see him wrestling Cody and Reigns one on one, I think they've created too much heat between Cody vs Rock to not do it. In his promos it's focused on Cody the most. I think it's unrealistic to think he'll do more than
Rock & Reigns vs Seth & Cody at WrestleMania 40 Night 1
Rock vs Cody Rhodes for wwe Championship at SummerSlam 24 or Survivor Series 24 or Royal Rumble 25 or a Saudia Arabia show in 24
Rock vs Reigns for Head Of The Table at WrestleMania 41 probably in Las Vegas
Rock just needs to screw Roman at mania by taking out the rest of the bloodline, and we’ve got one on one set up as rock Babyface again
he’s going to cost Cody the title and become a big heel
Nah he’s going to cost Roman the belt
@@tomlehmann306 Cody will never finish his story
And it was probably last time he will be in An arena @ Utah
Dave needs to learn how not to jump the gun on things. He’s so concerned of being first than doing reliable research beforehand. He’s losing his credibility
Rock is a real diamond in wrestling, created from hard work and effort. Roman is a artificial diamond. Didnt go through the mud to get where it’s at. So it doesn’t have that effect. He ain’t REALLY over. Looks good around plastic jewelry aka the rest of the wwe roster but not a real legend that is really over
Ol marble mouth Meltzer going to be one of the first people to become redundant with AI.
Ha.
It's 3am here in Las Vegas
Dave been applying that back to black
Feels weird.
The Rock went full heel, which of course was the plan all along. Except for the Tuesday it wasn't the plan. Not to be confused with that 5 minute period HHH was working with Ari behind everyone's back. but it definitely was never the plan all along, except for when it was.
Welp, looks like those of us who kept telling you this exact thing would happen were right. I remember when I was around 20, they did the angle where JBL terrorized Eddie Guerrero's mother and she had a "heart attack" in the ring. I remember arguing with SO MANY PEOPLE who insisted it was not an angle. Insisted. Nowadays everybody acknowledges it was a fictional storyline on a scripted TV show. This reminds me of that. Like people REFUSED to acknowledge that it was a work and they got worked
It's also funny that the "everything is a work" people are all in on "This wasn't the plan." Like this is the one thing they refuse to acknowledge was a work. It actually makes sense if you think about it tho. It's a deep seated insecurity. When people insist that everything is a conspiracy it's because they want to feel like they know more than others do. "They can't fool me! I have the inside track! You're getting fooled! Not me!" This is just another example of that. "No, no. They can't fool me! I know better. I see the machinations nobody else does!"
It's just because they feel like it's humiliating to be wrong about something. Most of us recognize that it's okay to be wrong and the thing to do is listen and absorb new information and change our perspective because then we don't have to be wrong anymore. That way we don't have to pretend we're right. We can actually be right. But to do that you have to admit fault. That requires some confidence and humility tho. You have to be secure enough with yourself that you understand that you don't always need to be right or feel superior to the masses who believe in things like facts or logic. You have to recognize that being wrong is not humiliating and being corrected isn't an attack. Hopefully they'll learn how to do that and be better...
But honestly you can mostly get by okay without that so it's not likely. It's not going to get you far in life but if your lot in life is to be poor, ordinary, and unremarkable you can get away with it. It's unfortunate we don't hold people to account for things like that in our society but that's the state of things
To quote Billie Kay, "Did you go to journalism for that?!?"
Is that true that both there promos was unscripted? If that’s true that shows how trash Roman still is because all he could come up with is calling the people idiots ? 😂, the Rocks promo was good af
Are we sure Dave? Did you check your sources? Got the year right?
Vince wouldn't have caved into the "smart marks" demands and went ahead with this gigantic money match. Paul never learned anything and now we have an overbooked mess
So the Daniel Bryan thing never happened? Or shoving Charlotte into Becky's already overcomplicated main event journey?
Smart marks? Arena’s booing and trending #1 throughout twitter for a week straight?
“Smart marks” are generally limited to people who listen to podcasts such as this one.
You underestimate how much a certain age group loves Cody. He was the number one merch seller for a reason.
The one thing I would say to Cody: be careful what you wish for. I could see Cody begging to turn heel in a year or two and corporate denying him because of the merch sales. John Cena 2.0.
Not throwing shade (might have sounded like that).
You are right though: Vince would have booked the most profitable match.
The problem (based on appearences) is they Dwayne took too damn long to make a decision. Then when he wanted to do it, they were in the process of building Cena 2.0.
Now we have the convoluted story.
@@TheScott689 Rock could draw more money wrestling a teddy bear than Cody in his lifetime
@@hevykevy316 the Daniel Bryan thing ultimately was a failure because it didn't draw in the long run sure WrestleMania 30 was great but after that there was nothing it was flat.
THE WEIRD WWE FANS WAS SO MAD THEY STARTED THE WHAT CHANT ON THE ROCK…I LOVE IT
I diarrhea'd in the tub when I saw the 500 shirt return! I sat in a swamp of expired burger King and egg salad as I watched the rock bring the clock back to 98. Lemme tell you something, the ripples felt weren't just the ones in the water beneath me, they are felt throughout the entire wrestlemania landscape. And unlike this bubbling mass of green and red chewed pickle, what's on the surface of mania is gonna be worth smelling
It’s never been more clear to me that fans have gradually become far more smarky over time. He gets cheered because he’s entertaining but that’s the meta. The audience is not suspending their disbelief and booing him as they should. Not being a downer because I’m enjoying WWE a lot right now but it’s just funny to me how much things have changed.
It's been 2 weeks and they still didn't come out for an explanation as to why Cody gave up his mania spot to Rock but then changed his mind and started getting mad at the press conference reclaiming his spot back. That's creative genius Triple H tho
Give it time, you said it yourself, its been 2 weeks, there is more than a month to go until Mania.
