Another amazing chapter in Acts with you!!! You have made reading the Bible so much easier for me. Being curious has really changed the way I have approached each chapter. God bless you abundantly!!! Have a blessed day.
I listened to a sermon yesterday about forgiveness. True forgiveness is realized when you can pray for blessings on your “enemies.” It appears from verse 29 that Paul did not hold grudges that would hinder his mission for God. We truly can learn a lot from Paul.
It will never cease to amaze my on how quickly Paul turned around and his faith withstood all trials that came his way. Only God could make that happen!
The footnote in my "Culture Backgrounds Study Bible" explains about Paul "gestering" in verse 1. it say: it was customary to stretch out one's hand at the beginning of a speech, here perhaps (as in the opening of some judicial speeches)sweeping from right to left with the thumb touching the middle finger... Interesting!
So interesting! I am so fascinated by cultural backgrounds - I think it's a piece of understanding the Bible that we often miss or overlook or don't even consider. Thank you so much for sharing this insight here for everyone!
