??? This was random editing. If you’ll notice, one second Paul is “jammin” to the music…while the next second he’s actually playing piano IN the music.
It's true that many, many people can play instruments. But these four lads created amazing magic on them. It's always with a bit of a melancholic nostalgia that I watch them.
I've always loved this track. It's a simple 12 bar blues, but the Beatles just add a touch of their magic. Played live. George on acoustic and vocals, John playing slide guitar, Paul on piano and Ringo on drums, of course. Love it.
is rhat G Martin? Harrison asked the tuning question of Glyn Johns, who was engineering the session, so this might be Glyn's reply. Then again, Paul makes the same joke while tuning up for "Every Night" on his 1991 Unplugged album. I love this sequence. Who'd a thunk Lennon was handy with a lap steel? Always a surprise with these guys.
What a curious comment. Producer George Martin also had something to say about what passed for good music, especially early on. Harrison’s music suffered from rinky-dink melodies and awkward self conscience lyrics. John and Paul didn’t diminish George’s music…George did that all by himself!
If anything, Harrison blossomed as a guitarist and songwriter with the this extraordinary band. The notion that George Harrison was somehow held back or subdued by other band members of the Beatles - is such rubbish. If anything, they all elevated each others songs by contributing in various ways - lyrics, playing, composing. George was a rare but great songwriter in the band, some of the best Beatles songs were written by him. And a couple of the worst.
@@y4g3r44 - Producer George Martin always had the unpleasant task of gently rejecting Harrison’s dismal music. I think Martin had the credentials to know good music from bad. Both in melody and lyrics, Harrison’s music suffered. He was not blessed with the same level of talent given to his more talented bandmates. The “Quiet” or “Spiritual” Beatle was never either. He was in fact the loudest complainer and, about almost everything. Except for loyalty (and perhaps even pity) from the others, he EASILY could’ve been replaced at any time. While he did indeed write 4 or 5 good songs, he wrote only two songs that were compelling enough to be considered equal to Lennon & McCartney. Taken into consideration how many years it took him to finally write compelling music, plus that he had been lucky enough to have been sandwiched in between two of the greatest composers in history, I would suggest that you might’ve expected more. I think it’s safe to say that there never would’ve been the phenomenon of the Beatles WITHOUT John and Paul. However, had there never been a George Harrison, I think you and I would still be talking about the Beatles.
@@-Luka-Brazi I agree. John and especially Paul liked George very much, they were like brothers. Nonetheless they also considered his replacement on occasions, with a.o. such suggestions as Eric Clapton. I really liked George Harrison and like the other three band mates, they completed each other. And again - the notion George was subdued or overlooked is such rubbish. His often very sketchy songs were elevated by contributions by the others. And of course George Martin and the very skilled and experienced studio crew. I remember when All Things Must Pass came out, Paul McCartney was asked what he thought of it. He said he thought the album was very good, "now let's see George follow it up". Paul of course recognized a few songs written during the Beatles era on that album. And as we all know now - George was never able to follow it up, with any material even close to matching the songs from his first solo album (which was benefitting from the Beatles vibes).
And who cares who plays what?! It’s simply genius! That’s all. How lucky we are, our generation that this all came on us like a tropical rain! God bless these 4 guys! They are, as a group, as alive for me today as they were 50 years ago..
Hear you there for sure, best band ever. As a musician I will say it is cool to know who plays what on each song with The Beatles. It adds to the awe and wonder of each members' talent. They can all do so much musically which definitely adds to the different feel and vibe each song has. From "Love Me Do" to "I Am The Walrus".
