guys, if bands like Shadow of Intent and Brand of Sacrifice can get by on there own, Slipknot definitely can as well. I dont listen to Slipknot as much as I used to, but I prefer a world where they still make music :)

In terms of the song, I haven't listened to a whole lot of Slipknot since Iowa, just some songs here and there, but this one really gave me Iowa vibes tbh. The beginning sounded so much like old-school Slipknot. Maybe it's just me.
I have been a Slipknot fan since I was 3 (2000), they never cease to completely blow me away, 20 odd years later. I'm so glad to see someone who isn't the biggest fan get into them. I am totally for you diving into their discography. My favorite song by them is Scissors, idk if that is the best song to react to though.

I've had this video pinned in my watch later tab for way too long, lol. This song reminded me so much of the S/T album. Almost felt like a lamentation to the early days and the chaos in their lives back at the beginning.

Slipknot has been my favorite band since their self titled album, and they’ve never disappointed. But since the Gray Chapter, they’re music has been hitting different! Stoked for September 30th! #metalisntdead

My old band we toured with Ozzfest in 98, and in 99. I will never forget when Slipknot played Ozzfest 99. To see everyone lose their minds the first time I saw them from the side of the stage. It will always be near and dear to me. I will never forget the memory of being on tour with them, and so many influential bands as well, but the first time I saw Slipknot from the side of the stage will always be near and dear to me.
Partying with them and Pantera became the ritual for the whole tour. Throwing back Jack Daniel’s, Crown Royal, Seagram 7. Having Dimebag making some of his Blacktooths every day for us all lined up on a standup table about 10-15 feet long just about was cool as hell. All of us bands partaking in drunk antics as well. Never a dull moment. Wish I could go back to them days for sure

Yes, I would recommend starting from the the first album and making your way through them in chronological order. I feel this gives the best representation of the evolution of their sound. I think the way Corey's vocals evolve is cool.
Its not the end of them its the en of the roadrunner records contract. And they sound better than ever tbh

Yessss, but I also think it could mean Slipknot could be put on a backburner for a bit. Since the contracts ending, they'd need to figure out next steps whether that's independent or their own label
I also think Corey could reunite and rip a Stone Sour record before getting new Slipknot again

I have been a maggot since 98 when Self-titled was released, and have been a devoted fan of their music ever since. I'm 33 now and I've seen the lyrical and musical evolution of this band and I can honestly say that this band has never failed to disappoint me. Whether they stick with Roadrunner or they find something different, Corey is an advocate for their creative development and keeping things the Slipknot way, so I'm very hopeful for what the future brings.

I really enjoyed this one. It's like they returned to their Iowa/Subliminal roots. I get vibes from both albums. The strong chaotic parts of Iowa and then melodic progression from Subliminal. Excited for their new album!

If this is their last album as Slipknot, I'm going to miss them, besides Knocked Loose, Slipknot was one of the first bands that got me right into heavier music. Although I never really was a huge fan of their more recent albums, they still hold a special place in my heart.
About the song, definitely sounds like a much more refined self-titled era song with a pinch of their newer sounds. I dig it a lot although the hook took me a while to get into haha

Just last on Roadrunner is what I think! A new chapter of Slipknot is coming after this.

I think this will be their last album with roadrunner. We could potentially see them make another album or two then dip. They’re getting older (unfortunately) and we could be seeing their end sooner rather than later

This won’t be Slipknots last album! They recorded an album in 2008 with all hope is gone and kept out hidden. It won’t be heavy, it’s more beautiful as of what they say!!! It will be released eventually.

Idk I think they'll take a long break after this, and get everything done but I think where they might screw up is the nft stuff cause as we've seen people hate nfts and they've died and that's what a few bands are doing now.
I don't think Slipknot will stop after this album releases, it's more or less an end of an era and that era being the Roadrunner Years, I'm sure Slipknot will go strong for at least another decade or so and won't stop until either Corey or Clown retire or leave the band because those two seem like the driving forces behind the band's creative vision in my eyes, I could be wrong though but it's always Corey or Clown who you see when the album is being promoted or in interviews.
As for what album you should start with Ohrion... I actually think it's best if you work your way backwards through their catalogue rather than in release order.

I think that this album is gonna be the last album for the OG slipknot. Since all the members at least the older guys Corey, Mick, Shaun, etc. I think that the band will go on hiatus until they have replacements for all the original members and then they'll continue. Since Slipknot will never end. Corey and I believe Shaun has said that it will never end. They'll just keep getting new members. So I think this is the last album for Corey, Shaun and them. Just my theory :)
I’d absolutely be down for that theory. Just slowly passing the torch to the newcomers. Keep the name and energy!
I think it's an interesting theory and I have read that about the band continuing forever as well. However, while some of the guys are easier to replace than others, I feel Corey's vocals are a major part of Slipknot's sound and it wouldn't be Slipknot without him. I think Clown's art direction for the band is another thing that would be tough to replace. I'm not saying it can't be done, just would be a hard sell for me.

As for their discography dive, do it in order. I think that's the best bet. You'll have a bunch of crap Slipknot fans just telling you to checkout Iowa and shit. Just do it in order and decide which albums your favourite yourself!
Honestly they have one of the best 4 album runs of any band. .5 The Gray Chapter, in my opinion, is the weakest. But none of their records are 'bad'. Do it in order man, the sound changes will surprise you more that way :)

It’s last album with Road Runner and one of their last albums with original members. They have people ready to replace them. Corey and clown included, and they’re gonna be the hardest to replace. Corey’s writing and stage presence and clowns art style. Those talents are harder to replace than any instrumental skill or even Corey’s voice.

Genuinely one of my least favourite slipknot singles. It sounded so much like the prototypical slipknot riff especially "the negative one" that it could barely be considered new.(I liked the bass soloish riff but that was about it) such a shame but that's my opinion I hope the new songs are better

@@OhrionReacts All their albums have such different sounds. So like, "OG" fan doesn't mean a whole lot because even amongst them they can't get along. There's people who SWEAR by Iowa, and then there's OG's who swear by Vol. 3
