I think the hitch or slip knot are the ones I use the most. Of course I use the what the heck is that knot a lot to. Cheers!

The theoretical mechanical advantage of a trucker’s hitch is 2:1, not 3:1. In actual use friction robs some of the useful mechanical advantage, reducing it below 2:1. It is a very useful knot, but it is not a 3:1 setup.Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
