  • Casting an Aluminum skull for Halloween using the lost foam technique. Molten aluminum cans poured into a sand casting of a styrofoam skull. Happy Halloween!

      Yes they are fun to make. It's Halloween again and I was thinking of making a larger copper one. We will see if I can get around to doing that soon.

    I am guessing that was 757 Celsius?

      No that was Fahrenheit actually. I still had a while to go before it got hot enough. My temperature gun only goes up to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit so it just gives me an idea when I'm getting close. I just throw some aluminum in when it gets close and check when it starts to melt.     Where do you get the foam skull??? I've looked around here, and maybe it's just because it's not halloween, but I can't find them anywhere.
