- With the addition of mindless #bollywood award shows that keep on increasing, I wonder whether its too late to take them seriously anymore. In other news, the #govindanaammera trailer dropped starring #vickykaushal #kiaraadvani and #bhumipednekar in lead roles. While it does look like fun, I'm still worried because they have gone the digital route for the film. From the awards given to #ranveersingh #arjunkapoor and #vaanikapoor to this fun bollywood trailer, I hope you like the video!

Another factor why awards have lost there charm is overavailability of personal life of stars on social media.
Earlier we used to be eager that how stars live ,talk outside reel life.
Exactly the social media ruined the star status, nowadays a big youtuber and actors tend to have same traction.
True, Awards and Interviews used to be the day when fans get to see their favourite actors outside of movies. Now these actors are trying to reveal every aspect of their lives and opinions online ruining the hardwork their PR has done.
I don't mind that - social media stopped the elitism by stars and it's good. Nowadays, youngsters won't really treat you as an idol if you are not bringing something to the table by doing this Valuable work is appreciated. The world has changed so much and it's better to change with the world

The awards used to be something I looked forward to. My family gathered in front of the tv, singing and dancing to performances, laughing at jokes and gags, and just having a great time. We would wait for the nominations, each of us shouting out who we wanted to win, and still being happy over who won it, because back then, more times than not, we knew they earned it. Now it's become a joke; an excuse to award those who don't deserve it. Shame what I loved so much has now turned into something I hate.
When people in power abuse their power and being totally biased n play favorites.. there'd never be any fun and justice!

I think people really give Filmfare Awards a hard time they're like a Nobel Prize compared to some other awards like IIFA, Stardust, Zee Cine and Screen Awards.

@@akshaysharma8940 i don't think sponsorship doesn't matter as long as they are honoring the right ones. i think the 2020 FF awards where Gully Boy swept was disgusting but other than that i feel like they were right and some of them were based on opinions of jury which didn't match with us, like I felt like Vicky deserved this year and they gave it to Ranveer but that doesn't mean it was wrong. Ranveer did perform very well but my choice was Vicky.

I also liked the trailer, at first the poster gave me a pati patni aur vo kinda cringe comedy vibes , but the trailer was good enough to convince me that it's more than that. I'll watch the movie

There was a time when people used to wait for award shows to see SRK hosting ,hrithik dance performances & funny banter between everyone.....Now its like what SRK said in AIB interview in 2017 -"Now we have discourses our awards shows have now become satsang sab aate h polity baat kro aur sabko ek ek award dedo jaise ki kisine ne ganda kaam kiya hi nhi hain"....SRK is truly a visionary in every sense 😂😂
I saw Ranveer play the NBA celebrity all Star game. He is also the ambassador for EPL. I have never seen him play either sport before that. It's insane how many revenue streams the dude has.

This year, Filmfare Awards in South also became embarrassing. They planned to held awards for films released during 2020 and 2021, and skipped the 2019 calendar, where so many top-notch and critically acclaimed films from South were released. And nobody even discussed about it. They cited pandemic as the reason for not keeping the ceremony, while they casually do it for Hindi films. At least, they could have held it virtually instead of coming to venue during the pandemic. Furthermore, they held that event for receiving awards for 2020 and 2021, and Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim got most of the awards, while Sarpatta, Mandela had received few (no awards for Karnan). In 2019, Gully Boy came under scrutiny for winning 13 awards, in spite of other films which are better than Gully Boy (released in Hindi). I don't see similar noise from the Southern side, because of the notion that South films are great. One quality that SIIMA did better than Filmfare, is that they held separate awards for 2019 and 2020, and acknowledged both the films. I think Filmfare, should have did the same.
P.S: SIIMA also did an embarrassing incident, this year. They gave best actress (Telugu) for Pooja Hegde for Most Eligible Bachelor, instead of Sai Pallavi for Love Story and Shyam Singha Roy (Sai Pallavi is a much much better actress than Pooja), because she did not turn up the venue. But, the next day, the award for best actress (Tamil) is given to Kangana Ranaut for Thalaivi, instead of Lijomol Jose, who gave a critically-acclaimed performance for Jai Bhim. Kangana did not come to the venue, and Brinda Master (choreographer) received the award in place. How ironic.

can i be honest he probably might be the superstar of decade winner deservingly so(ranbir is an overall better actor but ranveer has more range and versatility) but it definitely seems like the pr is hell bent on making ranveer the big thing in bollywood and there seems to be an overexposure with him regarding awards
The number of awards he has got in the span of just a few weeks is definitely nauseating. I hope its not the case of being everywhere and people just get exhausted
I seriously don't get how Ranveer Singh is superstar of the decade. No doubt he has proved himself to be a capable actor but then again Ranbir Kapoor (despite the fact that many of his films have flopped) has delivered gems in form of Barfi, Rockstar, Sanju, Tamasha... He has given a masterclass in acting and how to connect with the audience for life in these movies and all of these movies have inspired so many people.
PS- Just because Ranveer Singh is attending these award shows is no excuse of handing him these awards. He was also awarded the Best Actor Filmfare for 83' even though it was at best an average movie. Vicky Kaushal delivered an amazing performance in Sardar Udham but because of the existence of the two awards- critic and popular he was given the critics award (still makes no sense why two separate categories exist).

I couldn't have imagined him as Khilji, replacing Ranveer Singh. But after watching his look and performance in Shamshera, it actually surprised me. But it was an average movie. So, I think he is not explored enough yet.

@@seemonjena659 Personally, I think Ranbir is overrated. Barring a couple of films (Barfi and Rockstar), his performance is mostly the same in all of his movies. He could have been the 'star of the decade' for the decade of his debut. He had most of his good performances then. Most of his recent movies are duds and boring. Even Brahmastra was so boring that I had to forward most of the movie.
I don't know why everyone are in a rush to give award to tejasswi and karan for being a couple, if they are getting this award for their work it would have been good.
Just wait for another Couple in making from this season of big boss. No one Will remember them. Idk how big boss people r given so much priority🤦♀️

Honestly, I find it funny how Ranveer Singh is literally EVERYWHERE, yet his biggest competitor is Ranbir Kapoor who does the bare minimum in terms of PR but is equally, if not more, relevant than RS. Ranveer should focus on his films. Its either “Look, I’m the best husband” or “Look, i’m getting so many awards.” Such an overkill.
I think Ranveer does want to establish and garner immense wealth outside of movies so the hustle is respectable. I hope it does not affect the sense of lethargy people have just seeing him everywhere

Choosing to go for an OTT release of Govinda Naam Mera can be, like you said, because they aren't confident about the plot. It might also be that they realised in hindsight that the name Govinda may hurt religious sentiments of some hardliners especially because the plot is anything but pious. May be the makers don't want to get into a controversy 🤷
If they don't have confidence over there projects they should not make it.

I honestly enjoyed the trailer vicky and bhumi's acting looks promising, i think the girls are not just there for adding glamour but bhumi's role maybe a substantial one and story too looks good. But i know, whenever i'm excited about some venture it turns out horrible almost always so don't know

Govinda Naam Mera trailer kind of surprised me. I was expecting some mindless masala movie or 90s Govinda, 2 heroines, cheating on wife type movie but it does seem quite interesting. Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar seem to enjoy their roles quite well and it has me intrigued.
I also had quite some fun watching it. Refreshingly entertaining

It's just like the fourth remake of Abu Ashiq's Salt N Pepper not a new story which is why it's not really getting attention ig, the perfomances look great from the trailer but nothing can beat the og and the first remake imo, it was nice to see Nana in a film after a long time though

Its not just Indian awards I think foreign awards are losing the relevance now. If audince love your performance in the movie or TV series they will repond by either watching them on OTT platform or go to movie theater.
