There was actually a sequel to the Card Wars App too, but they both just suddenly shut down after a while, not sure why either. They were really fun to play though, glad to see them trying to bring it back, I'd 100% take up playing Card Wars again.
If you have an android you can download a hacked version of the first game, solo player is still available for that game and doesn't require a server to run. You can open packs, collect cards. Have infinite gems. It's pretty fun if you missed the game and just wanna check it out again for fun.
I'm so happy he brought up the mobile game for Card Wars, because I was INVESTED in that game. It was really special, too, because I'd always play it when my grandma watched after me when I came home from school. I miss it so much, oh my gosh. I'd love to re-learn the rules and play it again.
You can always download a hacked version if you own an android, it's nice cause it comes with a bunch of gems so you can open a ton of packs. Unfortunately this only works for the first game as it wasn't fully reliant on online access like the 2nd game is. Only a small portion of the game is online and that which you can't enter. But you can still play the story of the first game. I've done this and I played it for a couple of hours 😂.
I remember playing the mobile game on my ipad and I would create a deck that used a very small number of cards that essentially cycles the entire deck through a single turn by using all different lands, a card that gave energy based on different lands and a card that was really cheap draw. Then you would play high health golden cards, ex. diamond dan, or cotton candy king or whatever he was called and then use a card to switch their attack and health. I think the max damage was somewhere in the 300s if you hit one or two crits.
Witch Way was the spell card which gave energy per different landscape. I’d usually centre my deck around witch way and falling start (a card that gave opponent 2 less energy the next turn) so they wouldn’t be able to make big plays until I’m somewhat set up
From what I remember from the app. You choose 4 "land types" for your side of the bard. They can be all the same like in the card wars episode, or a mix like 2 swamps and 2 cornfields or whatever combination. As the turns go on, you accumulate energy, starting with 1 on turn 1 and increasing from there. You have the summon phase, battle phase, and then i believe you end your turn after abilities resolve (correct me if I'm wrong) you can only play 1 creature and 1 building on 1 piece of land at a time, but you can sacrifice a current occupying creature/building to play a new one. When attacking, a creature attacks the space in front of them. If there is no creature, the attack does direct damage. If there is a creature, that creature will take the damage and possibly be destroyed instead
Yea that pretty much the jist of it. Really fun game. I kind of wish that the online vs mode was against "real" players instead of a auto battler type of thing where you just play against an ai that has a copy of a real person's deck. But the luck aspect was extremely high due to the spinning wheel when you attacked, where you could miss or do double damage with a crit. Still really fun.
All of this is correct except, the effect of the monsters were used during your "summon phase" by flopping them. It depends on the monster how much energy it costs to flop them(use their effect) . After battle it goes straight to the opponent turn
Most of this is right except the energy. Each turn you only get 2 energy to use, but there are many cards that either use no energy or give you more energy. There's also a few cards where it's energy cost can change depending on something else such as how many cards you played this turn. The escalation type energy would be a very fun way of playing and would make the game much faster
My phone is old enough that I still have the mobile game on it, I play every once in a while and love it. I am so excited to see this resurgence of card wars!
I played the physical card wars game with my family and a few friends when I watched the show on release. I had two sets that each had two decks, based on a character and what deck they would've had, as well as one expansion. It was fun to play yet convoluted, which was fitting I guess. The raincorn deck I think i played most. Which is why the characters are not on cards- these are decks they use instead. Also there was fans making cards and rules before the official ones that I tried and gave up on before the official release.
i cannot describe my joy seeing you play this, card wars is my completely favorite card game of all TIME, i played the online game for multiple years and the physical game for a long time aswell
6:10 Seems like Blue Merloch is a reference to Merfolk Looter, a classic Magic the Gathering card that was so famous for it's "draw a card, discard a card" ability that the effect got nicknamed "looting" after it.
I bet the animators had a great time designing these cards. Don’t have to construct scenes, one epic picture, seems like fun. Bet a fair few of them probably played magic
I used to play the game back on the app. It was so fun back in the day, the default deck was Jake’s corn deck so I always used a swamp deck that specifically countered corn cards
It’s funny that I knew no one in my grade that knew about the mobile game and yet everyone in the comments are reminiscing the times they played. It’s nice to see you aren’t the only one
Omg!!! I remember playing the mobile game. I had some favorite cards like Good King Wounderful, Field Reaper, Mama Spider, Stg Mashroom. They even had some crazy broken Halloween and Christmas cards. Aahhhhhh. Good times😢
Omg so glad that your opening card wars!!! I own every card and confirm it's honestly really fun to play. The 1v1 decks are much better value than for the glory if you were interested in more products but understandably wouldn't make for as good content, still happy to see my niche interest get love by foafy himself :)
Yeah this is the coolest thing ever. The two card wars episodes are some of my favorite in the series. You can 100% tell whoever wrote them has a big background with tcg's
the card wars episode is making me famous at elementery school, because i made a game like card wars but with some twist like you can make some card own your own, like make your own character kind a thing and battle with rock paper sicssor.
i was only 13 when card wars was an app and i played that constantly it was so much fun and i always wanted it to be bigger and better im so hyped for this kickstarter
There was actually a bunch of these boxes that were like structure boxes. You got a Jake and Finn deck. I think there was also PB vs marcaline or something.
Ive never been so proud that i bought all the card wars sets and a booster box as a kid (minus the doubles tournament rip) and still own them. My only regret was having nobody to play with lol
i opened a few of these because im obsessed with adventure time. i have all of the decks as well. the best 3 cards hands down are witch slap, the pickler, and sack of pain. when i got sack of pain, i actually started wheezing from laughing at his smile and stance of complete violence.
I remember owning a card wars set that was playable with the corn and plains sides. I didnt know they made booster packs for it though, i thought it was just a one and done bit of merch.
My partner and I are going to be backing the project as soon as we’re done with Christmas shopping and we’re going all in on this one because we both love adventure time and we both are hyped to play the game I used to play the app version of this game and I can see the cards are different compared to the game but I’m still hyped for this game
I literally remember playing this a while after the episode had aired. It’s funny the episode was for some reason. I couldn’t imagine myself actually playing the game until I had it right in front of me and I sucked at it but I remember it made younger me so happy. The mobile had me so enraptured compared to the desktop. I still remember all the sfx.
I love the episode and the game itself I played the mobile game versions, didn't get to finish the second one. Sad to see them pulled off the app store, kinda wanted to revisit them someday
I still have access to the Card Wars mobile game. Idk how many other people also have access to it, I'm glad I do at least because it still works and I can play and emulate it with no trouble.
I was born on 2010 so when card wars was just released so at that time i didn't really think card wars was any good so i didn't play it but when i was growing up i realised i messed up not playing card wars when it was released so i truly regret that i didn't play card wars so i want card wars to come back and truly play it for the first time i hope they bring back the mobile game to redeem my self
Ive always been a big fan of the show and this card game. I actually own (almost) every card they made. Ive also made a google sheet that has all of the cards, no pictures sadly! But has all of the costs and abilities listed. I hope with all the new adventure time stuff coming out and the 10th anniversary fundraiser I hope they get enough support to create new decks and cards! Maybe a Marshall Lee deck
It actually is like magic the gathering X Yugioh! in a sense I think it would be really cool if card wars did actually become an official irl tcg like yugioh and magic the gathering witch are to tcg card games I play all of the time
adventure time never left for me, I watched it casually & was there for the finally but had no idea what happened so i rewatched the show when I got HBO max, & by the time I finished, BMO was already out
What a coincidence. I was playing my Stepdad at the Fionna & Cake edition and I got beat! Guess he had beginners' luck or something... EDIT: I was playing as best girl herself, Cake.
For that card wars mobile game, I did the date and time glitch so much for the daily puzzles that my iPad was around 30 years into the future and I seriously could not go any further it wouldn’t let me. Side note - I’m pretty sure I’m the best player in the world I beat everyone in 1 turn and I have the best deck / strategy feel free to challenge me :)
God I wish I found the Finn and Jake collectors pack for Cardwars so I could have owned the same cards the og episode had, but I'm happy I got the other set with BMO and Lady, I really miss the app though, despite the fact I sucked and couldn't beat the main campaign, it was so fun
I missed this game are they really bringing it back? I’d hop on it in a heart beat if it gains traction. Remember it getting over shadowed by yugioh, vanguard, magic at the time. Then mobile came out had a blast, then shut down 🥺

time to emulate it
I'm not sure they knew what they were doing marketing wise, it was free to play at first then they changed their mind, but the game was great
I really like that game, the PVP was really fun
I'm so happy he brought up the mobile game for Card Wars, because I was INVESTED in that game. It was really special, too, because I'd always play it when my grandma watched after me when I came home from school. I miss it so much, oh my gosh. I'd love to re-learn the rules and play it again.
Yeah I played this game a lot, I actually still have it. When I switched phones my data saved and my account transferred as well

All card games are going to be so fucking raw when we finally get good and affordable holographic technology.
Did you know back then in like 2017 or 2018 they had a card wars game in the App Store but I think it was removed I wish it was still around
I had the decks when they first came out. Also they did a Fiona and Cake card wars:3
One of the only sponsorships I fully watched and actually buy the product 😭
If they bring the digital version back, I’ll be spending a ton of money on it
You can still play the mobile card wars game on a fire tablet because they dont update their app store

The kickstarter is ending in 4 days everyone! Get all those exclusives while you still can 😎. They're so close to 1m
Diamond Dan? Hmmmmm I wonder if that's a reference to a youtuber that almost all of us used to watch
Bro thats funny, a person literally started a devlog for making a faithful version of cardwars before these cards came out.
Nvm It came out after. But I don't think they know about this.
oh hey i bought two packs of this a while back! i have the finn & jake decks, and the princess bubblegum & uhhh the unicorn the name of which i had forgotten after all this time decks.
