Was looking for illustration of turn on the haunches and watched some very well know people demo it - and then looked at this. 100 times finer, 100 times more precise, more intelligent and a better illustration. Well done Horseclass
I honestly love how you mention different forms of reward for the horse after pressure. I have been given the opportunity to ride an accomplished foxhunting horse, but green in the arena, and doing these lateral movements at the halt and walk have been IMMENSE help for him. he loves to run and jump and go fast, but these exercises keep him interested at the "slow" paces.
I was trying to train a horse to do this I could only get him to do a turn the hunches. I next time I try I will use your technique. I hope it works. Thank you ☺
Thank you for such clear simple instructions. Any chance you can give me some advice on how to engage my horses hindquarters at the canter. At the moment my mare leans on me!
My horse likes to go through the bit if she feels the exercise is too difficult, so I need a rail in front of her and next to her. Kinda have to do it in a corner. But it works.
+tuckytm It is a Schleese, I interviewed the owner of the company in this video: www.crktrainingblog.com/expert-interviews/how-saddle-fit-affects-the-rider-interview-with-jochen-schleese/

Sooo well explained. So kind, slow and precise. I do a lot of riding but when I am stuck, I love going back to basics. These videos are excellent.
I have a Tennesse Walker that is really dull and I've learned the hard way that less is better. This video is extremely helpful!!! THANK YOU!
