There are lots of people who can train a horse, but there are not many with the gift of being able to teach horses and people. You have it. Thanks for all the information you provide.

Exactly! He knows how to “speak the horse language” and there’s way too many horse owners and trainers out there who don’t know how to “speak horse”. I knew a lot about this (not a trainer, just we have had horses in our back yard for many years, so I’ve learned a lot over the years) but I continue to learn from Ryan and pass his videos to my daughter and other horse people. His videos are awesome

This is really helpful for me as a beginner, at the age, 56 yrs, I am finally a retired woman, getting my 1st horse, it’s been my dream since I was 4 yrs old! I bought a round pen to practice your techniques and learn my proper seat. I will be watching for your basic lessons to learn properly and now I can actually put your methods to use on a horse instead of in my chair! LoL

Interesting. Wish I knew how my dad trained a mare we had years ago. She could stop on a dime. Once - lol - he underestimated how much she was listening to him and, at a full gallop, leaned back and asked her to stop. She came to a screeching halt and he flew right over her head! Fun Dad fact - fortunately not hurt, just worth some laughs. Be careful what you wish for -

Hi Ryan, I think "If you are calm your horse will be calm" is sometimes a polite way of saying to someone what is really meant: "If you are freaking out like a lunatic and snapping the lead rope against your horse's face your horse can't be calm" lol.

Thank you for the great info. I know the problem is not my horse - it's training me to have much more body awareness. Become CLEAR and consistent, and start to read my horses much better. Your videos are so useful on so many levels - and so is the act of actually present. I am going to join you patrion page for sure.
My horses asked me to say hello - and THANKS!

i have a horse here that really doesn't know how to stop with a rider, 18years old.... has never learned it.... so far she can 'half stop' from the seat and vocal cue but then walks right on... some way to go with her... doesn't like to go in circles either so that's difficult too.... yeah well, patience will help as always ;) thanks for your great video ;)

Super clear! Love your videos. I’m training 2 green horses with opposite personalities, so this will help clear up a few things we’ve been missing. I know they’ve been trying to tell me something and you’ve just filled in the blanks. Also, they speed up when transitioning from a trot to a lope/canter, do you have a video for this? Or is it something that corrects itself as time goes on? No one really address it with young horses.

I purchased a well trained Performance horse.Cutter and reiner . I struggle with the stop on my part. I feel I confuse her.Too much hands but when I stop riding so to speak she keeps going, I bought her to ride trails and drill team. Can you go all the way back to the basics like this with a well trained type of horse? So I can do right by her and learn to ride with my seat & legs.

@@ryanrosehorsemanship thanks for replying, good saying! My lad just doesn't seem happy in any bit however 'mild' and his teeth are checked but he has a very low pallet and small mouth, I wondered if that's why, my hands are SO light and gentle too! But he's a doll in a headcoller and reins/bitless bridle 99.9 percent of the time
