Matt - it’s not about getting a team in NY. It’s about getting a well run, successful team in NY. We don’t need a repeat of what we have already seen. It’s a bad look for the game to see a couple hundred fans turning out to see a team playing in substandard facilities.
Agreed! The lessons learned would need to be implemented in any new NYC-based franchise. The last facility would work, and the new soccer stadium is being built by CitiField, where the Mets play. COVID really hurt the NY franchise, as there simply was nowhere decent to play - and Red Bull Arena had astronomical fees and limited availability - not to mention it would look awful on camera, with that smattering of fans. It can work in NYC.
Matt. I like your show yet that was some weird shit. If the starting RFCLA 15 were of a different race would you say the exact same? You won’t answer that question. I watched the game live at a pub because I don’t have FS2. I don’t calculate the racial % of the players. Jurie for RFCLA was in a walking boot a few weeks ago would you be happy if we put him out there and replaced one of those players? Would that make you feel better? Say No to Racism.
Thanks for commenting... the observation was about marketing. It was not taking a shot at the organization, who have been up against with a cruel spate of injuries. The lineup was a product of coincindence... But the point was about the bigger picture. It is important that we understand the repective fan demographics of the teams. LA is a diverse city. We need this market if we want this league to grow. We need to draw eyeballs from all walks of life. We want people interested at first glance. There needs to be that instant appeal. That was the nexus for the "let's hope we don't see it again" statement. As for making the same observation in a reverse situation, we'll see when/if it happens but will certainly consider the reactions here.
@@RugbyWrapUpStarting lineups for game 3 of the NBA playoffs had 1 white guy (Doncic) out of 20. Do you think Shaq or Charles Barkley said that looked bad for the leagues marketing? Hell no. Caitlyn Clark has made the WNBA relevant again. Quit the race obsessed virtue signaling. You should apologize to your viewers.
@@TheMancYank Your point is appreciated but the comparison of national teams to pro rugby teams trying to pierce the diffulicult USA market is about two different threads... Sorry you feel that way but your opinion is respected and understood. We are sorry to see you go.
Thanks for clearing up tht totally confusing end to the SD v NE game!
Tht dropkick looked like one if my efforts 😮😂
Good interview mate.

Also whenever NY comes back I still want them to be the Ironworkers. Real cool name

Wow!
Pretty lame to bring up the all-caucasian thing. People can't help what race they are, and teams should be picked by merit.
He’s trying to bring a team back to New York and do the play calling again. This time ithey’re called the
Iron Woke-ers. No 🧑🏼🦱 players allowed.

@@RugbyWrapUp See if and when the reverse situation happens?! lol. Guess you’ve never watched an NBA game.
Lost me once you commented on anything with race. Won't watch this channel again
Yeah. I’m done too. I’d hate to see his reaction to the Fijian or Kenyan teams. Diversity works one way with White libs.
That's unfortunate but we respect your views.
