This is a really unique teaching. I've never seen it before.
I have never seen this kind of exercise before. It is perfect, because I could realize how is the best way to pronounce words in English. I think that to practice this is essential for who are looking for to improve the pronuciation and lose the accent from the own native language.
Guys very use information. I struggled with placement a lot until I discovered this one trick: When practicing shadowing/imitation place your hand gently on the Chest and lower your pitch and feel the vibration. It automatically fixes your focus on chest (lower placement)
Please try it. I wish you all the best❤
I can't stop laughing when imitating the uh sound part. However I learned a lot from this video.
Haha thank you!
😄
This exercise is both funny and helpful 😂 Thanks Rachel!
This is pure Gold. I became aware of how Native Americans speak. It help me notice where my placement was and learned how low English speaker have their placement. I mean really loe. They talk soooo relax like if they were waking up from bed early in the morning. So easy going. Thank you Tom & Rachel. People you ought to study this like u paid 1,000 dollars for this session. Little things compounds into bigger ones. CATCH YOUT PLACEMENT RIGHT NOW AND LOWER IT!!!
You're right ❤ that's awesome and incredibly
This exercise is fantastic! It really helps to become of aware of placement, entonation and articulation. I absolutely love it
That's great!
please rachel do more videos about placement because it's very important and there isn't much information about this topic
Thank you very much. I think this made me feel the rhythm of the English dialogue deep down. I'll use it in every sentence I hear. Thank you for this useful video
I am really glad you guys came up with this new idea...now it is clear the where the breath currents / resonance whirl around.. Its resonates in the back - to -middle of the mouth, resonating on the palate.. and this is why, many US natives raise their eye brow while speaking... This video connects many dots of the puzzle.. Thanks again.
This is a very good exercise. You cannot separate the words on syllables because the linkings will be lost. So actually uttering the thought groups slowly is the best depicting of how English works. I used to read it slowly before I could read with a normal speed.
Imagine: What did you see in the market today? All the words are linked. Maximum you could stop between see and in, but in no other place.
you guys are fabulous 😍
UH part is like training how to sing 😂
but it's really helpful !
btw Rachel, I found your channel 2 weeks ago and you're really amazing by the way you performe lessons

Hi,
How can I get this book ?
your book I mean
You can get the book here: gumroad.com/l/pronunciation
you just make me laugh out loud "uh uh uh...." so much fun=))))
ngọc thịnh hahhahahha
For whom thinking this looks stupid, in spite of it this is very useful. If you don't like "uh" syllable you can use "oh" or "eh" instead for it makes no difference in fact.
You remembered me , I have studied the intonation in the first level of learning english language :-) thank you Rachel
It should be "you reminded" me.
This is genious practice and so helpful! Thanks a milion Rachel for all of what you are doing here for us ❤
Thanks so much!
That's the first time I comment under a video in UA-cam. Just to say, it's the best and advanced way to get American intonation.
Hi, Rachel, this is the outstanding video you both have made I liked it a lot I learned about placement when I was imitating uh sounds my mom was yelling at me because my mom doesn't know any English words after my mom got to understand what was I done thanks for making this video

It's unbelievably helpful. I've thought about it fir a long time and you guys gave me the key to do it. Now I can hear the rythm every time I listen to native speakers

Thanks, Rachel! It's helped me a lot. What an interesting video!
Well done
Thanks Karwan!
why did I miss this??? English is as my 2nd language and the most difficult for me is speaking and listening. When I still lived in my hometown "Thailand", I specialized on writing "grammatical skill" but weak at speaking & listening.
Thanks Rachel I love you
Need more like this please
More to come! :)
Sorry but it was very funny, I was practicing but when you and your friend start to say "uh uh uh" sounds like me in math class😂😂😂😂
Excellent video, I know english for you, thanks Rachel!
uh uh uh uh uh uh... It was really great. Thank you very much Rachel.
completed
It will be useful if you add marks to every phrase if it is a general or special question, exclamation, amazement or statement.
I hope you get what I mean. So it will be logically bond not only to this situation but to general senses and intentions of a speaker. Maybe to use the up and down graphics will be useful as well.
It's just my humble idea on it. In general I think you have to try it much more. It must work one way or another since it has much sense in its core. It's just a question of finding a more proper form.
P.S. 'scuse me for my needless advises.
Thank u both for this amazing video, helpful
Good job.
Thanks for being so helpful as always Rachael :)
finally ,that is exactly what i have been looking for .... thank you so much Rachel and Tom

Very funny hahahaha and definitely useful, very useful. Thanks a bunch Rachel.
Weird but really useful, thank you
My pleasure Pierre!
Hey Rachel,uh it´s a litle bit weird ,but really usefull. Thanks
It's fun. I really like this lesson. My fr told me like mad man. ^^ i love it.
Great
Thank you @jvizcarra1313!
It would be really helpful to add placement in the description of every vowel sound, because I suppose it is different for “ee” and “i” for example, or “o” and “uh”. Position of the mouth is not everything, if they differ in placement.
it´s videos very good for me
loved it!!!
Hello Rachel! I'm from Brazil and I've been watching you. I'm an English student and I have a question for you: May you put legends all on your videos ?
Sometimes I don't understand what you're saying and I really need to read.
Please! Answer my comment! Thank you Rachel!
If you mean subtitles, there are subtitles in her video :)
Yes! That's It! anyway I found on youtube subtitles on settings. Thanks for your comment.
William David no problem :-)
“Uh with Rachel and Tom!" This is so interesting!
Rachel, are you real ? I finally got it...You are so wonderful, I love you.
I finally found this video again.
Thanks for watching!
This is the weirdest video I've ever seen, but nonetheless (or maybe "and so") I just subscribed! 😁
Cheers from Sicily!
Thanks for subbing @rickycat8241!
Your videos are dope!
It's really helpful!!!! Thank you so much ;))
I found that it's very difficult to imitate though I paused and repeated by myself.
Could you give some suggesstions ?
Its very important and funny video ,
Thanks Samira!
🤭🤭🤣🤣very slowly 👏👏👏getting I love you teacher
Please upload for the word "civilization""
Is this the relax sound of voice I have to speak with all the time to sound American? Serious question
It definitely helps many of my students feel and sound more "American" - yes!
This is gold 😂
Thanks for watching @chackken!
Hi that's really amazing 😊 I really enjoyed it a lot 😂😂😂😂😂uh-uh-uh
I love your slow verison, please do it more!! because your videos speak too fast
The most difficult is always the most fruitful.
Tom's expression is like 'R' in Warm Bodies movie. Who agree say 'YES'!
Lol it's funny but it's enlightening! That's exactly what I want! Thanks a million!
You're welcome!
I liked the video although it would have been better if you had left more time for the repetition of the sentences and uhs exercises, witch made it hard to follow because it was sentence after sentence with no time to properly have us make the repetitions.
You guys are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And this is not stupid at all....it's actually very clarifying!!!
Hello, why Tom said ( Good ) like ( kood ) Thank you.
That's great and funny 😄😄
Hahahaha I really enjoyed it and it helped a lot at the same time
