"Medi-Ogre" I see what you did there! Honestly, of all the video game tie-ins I had as a kid, I'm surprised I never had this one. But you know what, maybe that was for the best.
you should discuss creepy pastas like Candle Cove, where you could see something like that actually happening. I always thought the best horror stories are the ones where your not 100% sure if they are fake or not. I always felt like stories that introduce blatantly supernatural elements werent too great. I hate how so many creepypastas seem so cool and interesting, then twords the end everyone's eyes are bleeding and the auther goes insane. Also, change your pfp or channel banner to tails doll with a gun.
Man, this was one of my favorite childhood games. I mean granted all my childhood games were licensed games so there probably wasn't a lot of competition, but I could probably rehearse about 70% of the game from pure memory. I'd personally consider it an underated classic that barely anyone online gives a fair chance due to Shrek being a meme... Though... That could also just be the nostalgia goggles talking.
@@DuoStuff True it's been a solid length of time since I last played it, I do know only a few years ago I played the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone PS2 game only a year or two ago and that did NOT age as well as I hoped. However I do earnestly consider this a great kids game a lot of people have dismissed way too quickly for it just being a Shrek game (I mean also there's totally some broken character mechanics but this still). Also I did really like your video regardless, I'm just giving my personal take as someone who religiously played it as a kid to the point of finding some of the leprechaun shops without a guide.
@@theblankking1966 I mean to be fair I wouldn't even call it bad myself, just kind of mediocre. But eh, in the end it really doesn't matter. Regardless I'm glad you enjoyed the video regardless. =D
1:22 the developers of this game were Luxoflux, who developed the Vilgante 8 and True Crime games. It's fascinating how a developer of a GTA clone also developed a Shrek game.
I had this game as a kid, and I still have it. Hero time segments were pretty cool, to be honest. Of all the things in this game, my favorite is probably the treasure collecting game at Far Far Away. And also that you can fight the wandering knights around Far Far Away!
My cousin owned this game and we played it a little when we were kids. The only reason we didn't play it a lot was because the game would freeze/crash whenever we got past the second level. Most I remember from it was that the ginger bread man could throw peppermints that would distract the enemies, which I would throw in the traps that were supposed to grab the players and use them to trap the enemies.
Kinda late, but I loved this game as a kid. I played it everyday with my older sister and we beat it so many times. It’s a game that gives me fond memories
I've never owned this game, but I have a friend who often practices for a WR run with it. So, it comes into my life when I feel like watching him stream some days lmao.
My friend bought me this game for $3.99 at a pawn shop, and it's probably the best deal I've ever witnessed. Sure, the Hero Time segments gave me motion sickness and the player icons still keep me up at night, but playing multiplayer in the sea of muddy textures is oddly beautiful! Due to the movement options and overpowered attacks, multiplayer Shrek 2 for the Gamecube is on par with the Lego Games. Singleplayer is lacklustre, but the hectic multiplayer really shines. I'm also surprised you didn't mention the GBA version, which is bloody awful. Give it a playthrough sometime.
I used to play this game with my cousin when we were around 5-6 and when we bought a PS2 I'm pretty sure it was the first game I bought xD But I never got that far (I remember getting up to red ridding hood, but I don't think I got far enough to see her leave the team ahah) Also the game was in english and I only spoke french at the time, so maybe that's why I wasn'T able to finish it (like most single player games at the time for me ahah)
I actually have this game and have almost beaten the game but haven't beaten the final boss fight and I honestly enjoyed this game a lot growing up even though it is TERRIBLE. Even with all of it's flaws, I love how crazy unethical it all was. It made me and my brothers (we played multiplayer cause why not) laugh a lot and have fun. I know this will get buried in a bunch of comments but I still like this game even with all of its flaws.
Fun Fact: If you're high AF on Cannabis and simultaneously drunk AF, this game is still $h¡t..! 😀 *#lolz* But jokes aside, this game never bothered me and I can certainly play it without many compliments. But it's certainly not a masterpiece by any means. But I do have to be pretty high before even playing for an hour or two. Lol
The only good DreamWorks game is Kung Fu Panda. Like, it's not actually GOOD but...it's fun for a kid. also this is completely unrelated but amy from sonic is literally a less edgy version of misa from death note and you can't unlearn that now :)

Wouldn't be surprised. A lot of licensed games, like the Spongebob ones for example, underwent a complete genre change in the transition to PC, oftentimes becoming point-and-click games for some reason.
I would say this is a good game for your kid to just shut up and play something. It’s not the greatest game, but as a kid you don’t really care about quality

Odd deputy considering he immediately decimates an entire civilization of rats. XD

I like it when people notice the pun since it was a little understated. XD
This game is genuinely good. Loved it when I was growing up
I also enjoyed it growing up, but I feel like it's not quite as good as I remember. XD
The beginning of the video sounded like buildup for a bad shrek 2 creepypasta
You know what it kind of does. XD

the shrek 2 game will be our demise. you have only made doomsday approach quicker.
Or perhaps Shrek 2 will save us instead. It remains to be seen what fate will be chosen. ;)

Yes I had it as a kid. I defiantly loved it it was really fun as a kid
I also recall really enjoying it when I was a kid.
Ah yes I also love things with defiance
Oh my god! I totally remember playing this on my game cube as a kid. Beat the game at least 20 times and still never got tired of it.
Wow 20 times?!? That's a whole lot dude! XD
this unlocked extremely vague memories of playing this at my cousins house

I actually really did, I think I only ever played Puss In Boots though haha
I was like that with Puss in Boots and Gingerbread Man.

I've done that big bad wolf hero time so much I can do it perfectly.
I used to be good at it through memorization, but this time it was clear just how poorly designed it is.
Best meme comment gets pinned, so have at it.
Can you please try to stream on my birthday it would be the best birthday present ever it's April 8th u don't have to tho it's fun

I personally played it a lot with my friend MJ. (Also I played it alone a lot, but that's beside the point.)
i do not remember any of this game, yet i remember playing it as a young child.
