That really did sound great, good luck to them. In the early 80s as I was starting I'd lucked out and got a WEM Dominator as my first amp, after a few years I traded it on a Sound City Concord purely for the onboard reverb as the WEM had none. I eventually lost the Sound City at the beginning of the 90s and never saw another one, moved house and the amp was left behind. I'm sure a lot of people can relate, the young person affliction of not appreciating what we had at the time.
John's right hand is absolutely inspiring. I have tried and tried to perfect that hybrid style and it is no small-feat by any means. Oh yeah, the amp is pretty cool too lol
Great review- your playing reminds us why we need to practice! The only drawback to this amp really is the price. I saw your review on the Vox AC30S1 30W 1x12 Combo Amp, which is also a great amp (el84's and no reverb though) at less than half the money.I wish more amp makers would offer the 30 watt 6L6/KT66 platform at a "mere mortal" price point.
Kimbiwa and dave I appreciate your answers thanks. I didn’t look for that specific question on UA-cam because I didn’t know it would be there haha! Meaning, I knew it wouldn’t work, so I figured no one would make a video about not doing it. I simply didn’t know why it wouldn’t work. But you both explained it, and I really didn’t know what the P.I. tube really did super well either. I studied electricity in my college for my A&P license, but that was the hardest subject for me. So I became a sheet metal guy instead of a spark chaser. We do what we can! Thanks for your nice answers!

This appears to be a fine amplifier. The light overdrive is MOST desirable!
Steven Fryette is a GENIUS. He has an amp for everyone. From high gain monsters to the Jazz cat Aether. Love Fryette and what he's doing.
I have a Sound City stack 2 4x12 cabs and an 8-el34 head. BEAST MODE
You should name that little jam, "Apologies to Perry" and make it a song. It sounds so righteous.
You shouldn’t have used the Goldtop cos it stole the show
A no frills, True Amp Tone. Sounds great. P90s sweet. But I have to See a cool $2000 combo. Carr is a dreamer.
Dime that pig. 😂 that's when it sounds the best to me. Cool review. Thanks
Just can’t get my head around these guys making an ungodly loud amp and skipping a master volume. If this amp had one I’d own one already.

I couldnt tell whether that was burst or patina on that gold top😆

Really nice sounding goldtop! 👍
Those guitars work so well with that amp. That's the best sounding demo I've heard from you yet, I hope you bought that thing.
HOLY FUGGING HELL LOOK AT THE GOLD TOP ON THAT THING
5:30 to 6:oo made me jump out of my seat.
What a great sounding amp. Eargasm!!!
Ferocious!
Can someone tell me why tube power amps use one tube type at a time? Like all el84’s, but preamps can do 12ax7 and 12at7’s? Just curious. Nice video!

This is the most boring looking amp ever
