Bing made carbs for stihl, Dolmar, and apparently SOLO in the 80's, They did have known issues, especially in the smaller ones, they used plastic internals that could go bad. The Sachs Dolmar 112 had a bing carb and that was one of its issues, I believe it was the plastic needle seat, once it goes bad the carb is done.
Thanks for chiming in. I believe the Zama would fit if needed. The spark seemed week and intermittent when I tested it. I'm making a bracket for the 272 coil but also have a new used stock coil on it's way. The Solo IPL calls for a Walbro HDA 130 or HDA 158.
@@Woodman_Custom_Sawing yeah I would probably still track one of those down if you can as a backup, the ethanol in fuel really plays havoc with the internals of the Bing carbs
@@BayouCountryPowerSaws my fuel is E-free but I know what your saying. In the end the Bing isnt staying. We'll see where this take me. I want to build something that puts the Dolmar in its place. Why start small. 🤣
@@Woodman_Custom_Sawing I figured you ran E free, but I was more referring to everyone before you lol. Well those 667's make a mean modded saw, the rod ratio of that saw is a lot larger than most of that size with a 48mm bore x 38mm stroke that's 1mm more than a 7910 with a lot smaller piston
I think that is a wrong order of gaskets on the fuel pump side of the carb. Shouldn't there be a diaphragm first to the body of the carb than the gasket?
I was holding it during the auction and giving my Mom a nod when I wanted her to bid. I was done at $80 but I guess she got in the spirit and took it to $100. So, I ended up with it. 🤣
I dont do enough saws to really answer that. It's not as common as a a fuel or compression issue. Start with the simplest things like compression, then fuel, then ignition. That's the order, easiest to hardest. When I grounded the spark plug the spark seemed weak and intermittent but I didn't say it on the camera but it has good compression and plenty of fuel so that leaves ignition. Given that it starts then seems to die shortly after that's indicative of a bad coil.
1st!!! 👁👁
Solo is in trouble, Obi-wan keMarshy, you are our only hope...
🤣 We have calibrated hammers of all sizes and for all jobs. 🤣
great vid !! love the problem solving .. !
Thanks! I appreciate the sub.

@@BayouCountryPowerSaws I've been studying Stihl saws with 38mm stroke. You can see ther writing in the wall. 😁
Carburettor gaskets the wrong way around 😂😂😂
Yea I was bidding against you I got a Mac 610 I got it running but quits when it gets hot I think it needs rings
Time for a compression test. 👍
@@Woodman_Custom_Sawing it's got 120 hot can't find what it should be
Cliffhanger!! 😬
🤣 That music was intense wasn't it?
On edge of my seat can't wait for the next one!
A Sweeeet buy :)
I'm glad I did!

I wanted that saw my self

How often do you run into a bad coil?
