Honestly I find the whole dinosaur theme in this game to be scarier than the zombie theme in Resident Evil. That might be because of the fact that, unlike zombies, dinosaurs actually existed.
Even scarier: they are not all the same lumbering beings. They come in various forms with varying characteristics. Plus, they are all faster, smarter, and more aggressive than zombies.
Zombies actually do kind of exist, depending on how you define them. For example, the zombie-ant fungus can control the minds of ants to its own advantage, and the sleeping sickness makes people lethargic and absent-minded.

This game was slept on and did not get recognition it deserved. Im sure there are people that still like dinosaurs. Yes it should have been remastered like resident evil 3, if it do, it's long overdue.
That chase fight around the downed chopper was tricky, if you ran too far ahead of him he'd turn around, but due to the shitty by design camera angles you basically would never see when he'd change direction and next thing you know Regina could be staring right at the T-Rex as he turns around but you as the player can see shit and you run right into him and die..
This and the King Kong game are the only games that genuinely made me afraid of The T. rex they really need to make a horror survival of Jurassic park or remake Dino Crisis at this point.

XD
It’s due to Dino Crisis being a survival horror where you backtrack a lot solving puzzles and try to use strategies for defeating the raptors and T-Rex & Dino Crisis 2 being more of an arcade Third Person Shooter where you just pretty much fight your way from A to B with a few Arcade Addictions like shooting in First Person View plus Dino Crisis 2 was also a pushover of just shooting Dinosaurs most of the time and the original Dino Crisis was about using nerves of steal and instinct like reserving your ammo against The T-Rex or trapping Raptors in The Laser Forcefields due to ammo being few and far between since it involved more puzzle solving and less action fighting Dinosaurs then it’s squeal Dino Crisis 2
I played parasite eve, then this, then resident evil. I believe that was the order of things, but it's been a while... Out of everything that T-Rex jumpscare probably got me the hardest.

Honestly, I think if Capcom put some real fans ( like myself) in charge of the game ( ideas and gameplay wise) and they create and publish it we could nail it. the problem with Capcom now is that they don't take to the undead/ dino infested roots that the survival horror genre started in anymore and their work suffers for it.
I have to point out you are forgetting about Amnesia the Dark Descent, and the Upcoming Amnesia a Machine for Pigs. the game is the very definition of survial horror
@seanMmaguire1 only the graphics, but not the gameplay.. keep the original gameplay.. i think Capcom should also keep the original gameplay (like RE 1, 2, and 3 in PS1) to the new RE series coz that's what makes the game scary..
