Thanks for the review. Choosing between the two may come down to how many knives you have in your collection. The anodyne look of the Gent makes it a great only knife - if people do that sort of thing. It's got a more versatile aesthetic. The more aggressive look of the Stinger means it would work better as an addition to a larger collection where you can pick/choose between a handful of knives for EDC on a given day.
Really enjoyed the Stinger! Havent had the Gent in hand! Very similar knives for sure! Thanks for the great comparison brother!!
I'm just opposite, love my Gent. Just waiting till Tuesday for my stinger.
Amazing to me just how similar they all look. Slight differences to make each their own, but definitely all in the same gene pool.
had a gent until it was stolen from my own house so i ordered the stinger. I liked the gent a lot more
Nice comparison, guess my choice would be the Stinger. Only thing is, i got very distracted because of that SpidyRat in the topcorner. Nice one.
Ha! Thanks! That SpidyRat was a gift to the channel from Big Red EDC and BJ Hill, super awesome. I think in the end I probably would go with the Stinger as well. Really appreciate you checking out the review. Take care!
Got the gen want the stinger. Wish they would make the centros this size.
Good idea on the Centros. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Gent or Stinger? Stinger or Gent?
I own both and for me it's sort of one of those six of one, half a dozen of the other situations. I will say that, because of the fullers on the Stinger's blade, it is more fidget friendly than the Gent which, for me, is a plus for the Stinger. Other than that, I think either would make a great EDC knife for the majority of us. (And by "majority of us", I mean folks who just want to carry a knife for mundane, everyday tasks. If you're looking for something tactical or a hard use knife, look elsewhere)
I have the o.f. Green scales with the Titanium frame. I love the Gent and need to pick up the exec and the Stinger. Also I just Subscribed to your channel keep up the good work :))
Hi John! Thanks for checking out the review. I was carry my Exec yesterday as my EDC... all three (Gent, Stinger, Exec) offer something a little different which is cool. Really appreciate your sub and support! Take care out there!
If you like one, there's a good chance you will like the other. And I do! I've got both and they are keepers. I give the Gent the edge though, because the materials are nicer and the size is legal in more places. My Gent also had better action. Ymmv
I own a Gent, I really like it! I like the carbon fibre on the Gent more than the CF on the Stinger (I’m assuming it’s the same CF that was on the mini Archbishop). I never really noticed until now how similar these 2 knives are, I wondered why the stinger looked so familiar lol. Another great video!!
Hello. Flight of the bumblebee for a stinger. Funny. All the best.
Ha! Glad somebody got the reference!! Thanks for checking out the review RHINO!
Fantastic comparison Brad. I owned the Gent for a while & I really enjoyed it, but I must say that aesthetically I think that the stinger wins it for me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 👊🏻😷👍🏻
Having both, I prefer the Gent. Maybe it’s because it so thin, the Stinger feels a little “cheap” for the price. I feel that it should cost $10-15 less than it does. I don’t regret buying it. I really do like it. It’s just that the Gent was going for $100-120 at a point and it has more expensive materials. So I guess I’m looking at value for price.
PS. I got my Gent when Drop had them for $60.
Winchester Inc, Chicago Knife Works has the Stinger in G10 for $75.59. At least, that's what I paid for mine a couple of weeks ago. IMO, it's definitely worth that.

For sure. I remember our conversation about CKW. Good prices, small retailer (I think) I wound up getting it at WhiteMountain because of the discount code/tax situation there. And I like giving Justin my money. 😂
@@winchesterinc.5643 oh, I agree wholeheartedly about WMK. Justin is good people and I like doing business with him and do so whenever possible. The Stinger wasn't in stock at WMK when I got the hots for one (still not in stock, just looked)
I like the Stinger from what I saw. The size looks pretty decent and I definitely like the materials. Fantastic review and overview of the differences and similarities. Well balanced. A++
Cool
Think I'll have to get em both😂like em both plus tend to like the Ferrum forge design. Tnxs for the review and showing the comparisons 😁👍🤜💯🤛🙏
Stinger now comes in Marbled CF... That jumped it up yet another notch... That clip on the Gent kills it for me, looks like a clip from a gas station knife.
I saw the new marble CF release, pretty cool! Yeah the clip on the Gent is a little meh. Both good knives regardless. Thanks for watching!
Great comparison brother thank you for the shout outs 🤗
A great comparison! I think my preference would be the stinger for the size and the steel. Both seem excellent however. Great video 👍
So one difference I saw is that it looks like you have to remove the scale to adjust the pivot on the Gent? I mean it may keep the pivot captive this way, but those micro adjustments can make all the difference in the action and blade play as the knife wears in over time.
🙋♂️ stinger
I don’t own any FF knives but the Stinger is appealing. With my XL hands I’m always skeptical about purchasing a 3-3.25 inch knife without holding it first. Unfortunately the Exec, which would be a better fit makes a big price jump. I do have the Centros and Feldspar and live both even though they are budgets. Thanks for the food for thought Brad! BTW, flight if the bumblebee... got it LOL!
Thanks for watching Kevin! Yeah these are both on the smaller size, though the choils help a bit. LOVE my centros, just a great knife. I've got a Gerber review coming that caught me off guard 😉
Great vid. Very interesting comparison.
Great comparison video.
It just happened to me I dropped 100 bucks on a piece and I could have got the buck knife same exact knife it shows you the mark up on these knives!!!!!! Thanks bud
I like both but have to ask, are they both true CF as they kind of look like a CF laminate over G10. Who designed each knife? The Gent definately looks like a Laconico design but not sure who designed either? Normally I would just say Stinger as it is larger has bigger finger choil and the fuller for flicking. They both look more office EDC than jean EDC. Good review never really saw how similar they are.
The gent is real CF, and I am pretty sure the stinger is the CF laminated G10. These knives are both designed by Ferrum Forge Knifeworks and are produced by We Knives.
@@whoswoo9070 I have the stinger, and it is not a laminate over G10, it is real CF.
The knives are OK, I guess, but the CF that’s slick always feels cheap to me. I mean, you did a thorough, quality video as usual. But I think with the similarities between the two knives the vid could have been half as long. Just a thought, you asked us to be honest. But you’re still my “go to” guy for knife reviews, along with your buddy Jake from Ohio. I remain a big fan even if you talk too much. Hahaha. Hell, it’s your show, right?
The stinger is more refined than the gent.
Similar? Hmmmm I don’t see it
