People also sleep on how good Ryu’s stand forward is. I’m pretty sure it’s ryu’s furthest button, it’s almost as good as lukes stand forward, and on punish counter you can combo into level 1 for about 35% damage. It’s such a good footsies tool that a lot of lower level Ryu players forget to utilize.
@@lucasbittencourtnogueira5858 My fault, I grew up during the Arcade days so Medium kick was called “Forward” on the button. In your terms it would be st.mk. 👍 Hope this helps
@@lucasbittencourtnogueira5858yeah it’s old school shorthand. Punches: jab, strong, fierce Kicks: short, forward, roundhouse They can be stand or low/crouch respectively: e.g. stand fierce, low forward, etc.
@@machoortv Also, in the "Midrange", For some reason, Midrange still is short range. cMK and cMP are damn near close range viable and you have to use it to counter aganist moves. It can't be use for safe pressure. Everybody I fight always has chars with longer ranges even at the same distance, so its like, you can never be at the safe distance. Makes Ryu feel shorter than his actual height.

it is standing OR forward. Do you mean stand fierce (st.HP) or solar plexus (forward HP)?

Yeah, I feel like if Ken's is faster, Ryu's should have more range or vice versa

The hard part imo is chars with rush down or pressure. The type that can slp and slide and out neutral you like Kim, Chun. Cammy, and Juri.
I also struggle with those, need to find solutions to these specific moves
