    What is the difference between ام and او?
    Where to use ام and where to use او?

    • @ArabicwithToqa
      @ArabicwithToqa  2 роки тому +5

      Basically, they both mean "or"
      However, أو is used with affirmative sentences, while أم is often used with interrogative sentences.
      example (أو)
      يريد أن يشرب قهوة أو عصيراً.
      He would like to drink some coffee or. juice.
      Example (أم)
      هل يريد أن يشرب قهوة أم عصيراً؟
      would he like to drink some coffee or juice?

    اسلام عليكم . I have a question. Why did you write ‘ halil’ and ‘hal’ . I mean when not the same one ?

    • @ArabicwithToqa
      @ArabicwithToqa  Рік тому +1

      وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته
      That's a good question.
      In Arabic, if the word ends with sukoon and it's followed by a word that starts with Hamzatuwasl the sukoon changes into Kasrah.
      So basically "hal" ends with sukoon.

    What would the question word that sounds like « hal » be equivalent to in English?

    • @ArabicwithToqa
      @ArabicwithToqa  2 роки тому +4

      It has no equivalent in English
      In English we change the order of words to change an affirmative sentence into a question.
      So.
      "It is good" changes into "Is it good?"
      In Arabic, we don't do that, we put hal before the affirmative sentence, and it turns into a question
