Tim has an entire arc dedicated to how he protected Gotham without Batman. After becoming Red Robin, he actively used WE and Bruce's money to make Gotham a better place. Dick and Tim are an excellent team, Grayson's intuition, leadership and physical characteristics combined with Tim's tactical mind and intelligence will provide Gotham City with the best protection.
@@sweetsweetalib4857 I'm talking about Search of a Hero arc, it was right before Battle for the Cowl. Tim becomes an evil Batman in a possible future and it happened because of circumstances, not because of Batman's mantle.
I think a lot of people agree with this statement I personally would chose Nightwing or Batman Beyond but Tim is close in my opinion. I also agree that Dick and Tim are the most level header characters in the bunch.
Out of those offered they are the best. Cassandra has the easiest time stopping crimes and Tim is the best detective out of those pictured. If Bruce was Batman and went missing, Terry wouldn't be alive yet.
I think Nightwing and Cassandra could be a strong duo. You could say that damien was a great partner to Nightwing while he was batman, but his anger and arrogance gets in the way of his ability imo.
I'd rather see Azrael and Red Hood with Cassandra Cain being the on-call person just to see how Batman's rogues gallery would look like after they're done.
Dick and Cass. They both come bundled with Barbara and Stephanie respectively. Dick is the jack of all trades of relationships, he already proved this as Batman. Cass is the best fighter in the DCU (supposedly). As for bludhaven, the titans care for it in current continuity and they’re good friends to Dick so they’d help him out by protecting the city. But no matter what the whole batfamily would care for Gotham in Bruce’s absence.
I think Terry and Tim would be a great duo. Tim can deal with the detective work seeing as how he’s said to be on par, if not better than Bruce as a detective. And Terry has his super advanced bat suit which is basically like having an Ironman suit, and is definitely up there in combat skills and inherited Bruce’s indomitable will, the guy earned the mantle of Batman for good reason. With those two combined it’s basically like having one full Batman.
I honestly dont know exactly who my second choice would be, but my first choice would be ofc, Tim Drake. I see people in the comments bringing up the Red Robin run, which is exactly what makes me choose him. Tim's dedication and tactical brain to push through the mission of finding Bruce when he was lost, he fought against both the League of Assassin's and Council of Spiders in a incredibly intelligent way. After coming back to Gotham and having a complete plan to protect EVERYONE Batman loved and his LEGACY. Tim took the batman legacy into his own in a way. He took over WE and he took control in a way to get the mission and job done. He also has more connections then batman, and hes more willingly to work with others. Tim thinks the most like Batman, acts the most like Batman and knows the most about Batman. Tim is 100% best to take over after Bruce goes missing, he has before and he may again. Tim has connection, willing to ask for help, he thinks as he fights, he can plan ahead and his ability to do what others cant at the moment, like taking over WE. Tim's my favorite, so im a bit biased but i believe hes the best choice, with either Alfred or Barbara at his side id think he'd be a near perfect copy of Batman.
My vote goes for Tim and Cassie. I think they'd be a great duo because together they'd make for both sides of Batman; Cassie as the muscle, the fighting, the skills. She'd be taking down the bad guys. And Tim as the brains and the detective work; he'd be keeping Cassie safe, figuring out plots, and solving mysteries. Plus I think they'd have an interesting complementary dynamic.
For me its one of these combinations (not in any particular order): 1. Dick Grayson / Cassandra Cane 2. Barbra / Dick Grayson 3. Terry McGuinness / Helena Wayne 4. Barba Gordan / Tim Drake 5. Dick Grayson / Damian Wayne
Fun discussion. Here are the scenarios I think would be fun. DREAM TEAM: Cass and Tim I love that Cass could basically beat all these guys (even Batman). She is a more nimble threat and is easily underestimated by Gotham's (male) criminals. Tim is the detective/tech guy with the moral heart of the team here. TEAM I WOULD LOVE TO HATE: Oracle (bio not provided) and Damian This team would write itself. So many stories possible. Imagine Oracle stuck in the tower doing all the sleuthing, tech-ing and trying her hardest to stop Damian from his arrogance in the battlefield while he runs amok. I can't stand the twerp Damian - he's obnoxious. But this, in effect, is what would make this such creative writing! (Also, Alfred would have a strong role supporting the team and each hero/ine individually.) CRAZY MIX-UP TEAM: Az-Bats and Batman Beyond Jean-Paul in the original Knightfall suit (my favorite skin in the WB Games) and Terry with his high-tech gadgetry would be a fun romp in the streets of Gotham City. I think there would be tension between them (and mutual respect) and sort of a Leo/Raph dynamic. MANTLE OF THE BAT TEAM: Nightwing and Jason (followed by Tim, Cassandra and then Damian) Straight line of succession. Nightwing mentors Jason for a while, then Jason leads Tim for a while who, in turn, works with Cass for a time who, finally, takes Damian under her wing. B-SIDE TEAM: Jace Fox, Stephanie Brown, Harold (remember him? Cave support), and Ace the Bat-Hound Just a fun collection of Bat family members who don't get the props they deserved. ELSEWORLDS TEAM: Batman/Wonder Woman offspring - a boy and a girl (twins) This would just be a fun venture, I think. Imagine a world where the heroes died out, left Earth or whatnot. All that's left after Bruce and Diana are dead are their teenage children, cared for by a dying Alfred and their Cyborg/Robot butler (programmed with Bruce and Diana's memories/techniques to be unlocked). ANSWERING THE QUESTION SERIOUSLY TEAM: Nightwing and Tim This just works. Total cooperation and understanding. All the fighting, detective, athletic, morality, ingenuity, tech skills, willingness and self-sacrifice in one dynamic duo. Dick ditches the Nightwing costume and Tim leaves the Red Robin costume and they both don a Batman costume (one with blue tinges and one with red tinges to them). Just a fun opinion from a guy who used to collect years ago,...
Literally said this in my head them three together could probably even be better protectors for Gotham if Batman left for an indefinite time terrys will and future technology with Knightwings heart and experience and lastly Tim’s detective work said to be on par or better than Bruce’s these three also have personalities that mesh well and with three mini Batmen walking around Gotham they could probably solve more crime
Terry pretty much proved he's the best because we've seen his complete story. Avenges His family, Beats The Joker, Helps The Batfamily Heal Over Time and Gets Married later on never becominh as Distant as Bruce.
Batgirl (Cassandra Cain) and Nightwing. Cassandra Cain because she's got that whole take-no-prisoners kind of attitude. She's the best fighter and competent in other fields. Nightwing is just the goat, but basically he can talk to folks and that would be very advantageous. Plus they're combined style would be more entertaining to watch. I don't want to read about two dudes just being awesome at everything they do, that would just be a slightly different version of Batman and Robin. Plus they're both totally their own person and have unique personlities that would allow for interesting stories that could go almost anywhere.
Easy! Nightwing and Red hood. Red hood kills criminals and it’s not afraid to do what Batman is. Killing criminals will instantly put fear among the rest of them.
If Batman selected the next Batman as one of these, these would be who I'd pair with them: Dick: I'd pair him with Tim as Red Robin- two highly skilled fighters, I don't think Tim would fight Dick for the role, and he'd be OK with it, and they'd be fun (second: Terry) Tim: I'd pair him with Damian as Robin- virtually all the others on this list wouldn't be happy taking orders from Tim as Batman, so Damian as the youngest makes the most sense (Second: Stephanie Brown as Spoiler, but she isn't here, so instead I'd say Terry, who would probably look out for Tim seeing what happens to him in the future) Jason: I'd pair him with Jean-Paul as Azrael- Jason would select his helper I'd think, and he would choose Azrael as the other one who'd get what needs to be done to save the city (second: Damian) Damian: I'd pair him with Dick as Nightwing- He needs a strong and older force to keep him in check and make sure he keeps the Batman code (second: Cassandra. I feel they'd get along) Cassandra: I'd pair her with Tim as Red Robin- Brawn and brains. He would solve the crimes, she would punch whovever she needs to (second: maybe Damian, as she would be a good person to train him) Jean-Paul: I'd pair him with Damian as Robin- Jean-Paul and Damian have similar elements to their backstories, and I feel the two would be a strong team (second: Jason) Jace: I'd pair him with Cassandra- Jace as a genius and Batman would probably clash with virtually everyone else on this list, especially the Robins who were trained for this purpose, Cassandra would be a strong force who wouldn't want to step on his toes (second: Damian, who I'd say wants to be Batman the least) Terry: if for some reason, this is Terry in modern day, then I would pair him with Tim as Red Robin- The only thing with Dick is I feel he wouldn't be happy with some random future guy who claims to be chosen as the next Batman, and the two may butt heads, Tim's intellect means he would compliment Terry more (second: Cassandra, for the same reasons I paired her with Jace) Conclusion: Best new Batman: Dick or Tim Best new sidekick: Cassandra or Damian Most violent Batman: Jean-Paul or Jason (If neither became Batman, and it was just two crime fighters, I'd then say Dick and Tim as the best pairing with Cassandra and Terry as their respective seconds) I assume that Alfred is still Butler, Barbara is still Oracle, Jim Gordon is still Commisioner and Lucius now runs Wayne Enterprises.
The issue with the killers is that the first one they would have to kill is Cassandra. She would not let them kill, while wearing the symbol of the Bat. So there are two options for the killers. They would have to either make it explicitely clear that they aren't Batman and no longer use the symbol, or kill Cassandra. And let's be honest, they wouldn't be willing to do either.
I think Cass is the best option because she's the closest to Batman in terms of mindset and ideals. She is quite possibly the only person in the world who hates killing more than Bruce does and has the insane drive that Batman is known for. She stared at and was raised as evil in the face for 8 years and chose to be good because thats who she is, and nothing could break her (other than dc editorial from 2007-2009 :p) Shes also the most empathetic to people because she knows what its like to be helpless in terrible circumstances.
Tim and Dick would be my choices. They already have an incredibly strong relationship, they compliment each other well with Dick’s fighting skills and leadership and Tim with his intelligence and tactical mind. Both trained by Batman so they already have relationships with Alfred and Jim and are familiar with all of Batman’s gadgets and his mission plan and because they share so many experiences like real siblings they have a shorthand that cannot be beat. For an emergency back up person they call in Cassandra when things get real dicey and they need her to kick some ass!
Any one who train under the leqgue of assassin is the better choice. So cassandra cain (lady shiva daughter) or Damien Wayne (bruce and talia's daughter)
For me, I want Tim to step up to be batman. Tim does the detective part of the job better than any of the list and maybe even above Bruce. His fighting is good enough to hold his own and he is a pretty tech savvy. Now with Tim being Batman his partner I want as Orphan/Batgirl to compensate on his slight lack of martial arts prowess.
I always feel like Jace is the Batman when it comes to outside of Gotham and even have him as Co-Leader of Outsiders with Black Lightning for a story I'm writing
Cass and Jean-Paul have been doing a great job covering for Bruce in the latest Tec issues, so my pitch is to let them keep doing it. It's not as sustainable as your duo, but Cass was pretty good at keeping JP from going off the rails during No Man's Land, and they have a good track record at picking up the pieces after a big event takes Bruce out of commission. If I could get Babs in there as Oracle, she more than makes up for their skill gaps, and it'd be a great team dynamic.
Pretty much nightwing with anyone consistently he stated by both Batman and Deathstroke that if anyone could replace Batman it be him and that he will suprass batman
Dick and Damian are my ideal team. Dick's the best successor and best choice as a mentor for Damian. They're both deadly, intelligent, and capable. They are their own dynamic duo.
I think there are two main answers. Short term: Nightwing and Tom Drake. Nightwing was considered *the* replacement for Bruce after he was presumed dead, but he never really was the best detective. Tim Drake isn’t as good of a fighter/leader as Grayson, but he is a lot smarter and the only person Ra’s al Ghoul refers to as “detective.” They would both do a good job for filling in until Bruce comes back. Long term: Nightwing and Damien. The purpose of having a duo is to make one a side kick until they can break out onto their own. As good as Drake is, he honestly is competent enough to be his own hero, and Damien is young enough to where he could learn a lot from Grayson. Honestly, I think he works better under Grayson than Bruce. I didn’t put Terry because he would be too young in this situation. He was a great replacement for Bruce but if the others are all available, then there would either be time shenanigans or something else going.
When i first saw this, my first thought was Dick and Terry... cool to see that you came to the same conclusion for most of the same reasons. If probably put Damien as a backup of Terry was unavailable and Tim as backup of Dick couldn't be there.
Honestly I'd say Nightwing and Batman Beyond. Mostly for the fact the two are without a doubt the best proteges Bruce has had not just in terms of skills but also being well-adjusted as people. Dick is a natural leader and while Bruce tends to push people away occasionally, Dick has the ability to draw people towards him (One of the first to connect with someone as stubborn and hard headed as Damian.) Terry whether or not he's Bruce's 'clone' or not. I'd say he's more like his last son in either sense of the word. Terry understood how tough the streets were, wasn't afraid of juvie if it meant standing up for what he believed was right. He comes from the perspective of someone that isn't privileged as most other members of the Bat-family but he learned the value of having people and connections in his life, something Bruce struggled with. As a teen the suit may of carried him early on, but he learned to show case his adaptability without it on occasion, by the time Epilogue hits he likely received all the necessary training he needed in full. Basically, they are probably the best contenders for being the next Batman. Which is funny as one already was once and the other is a future era version. But I think they're both the best candidates as they would be able to do the thing that Bruce always struggled with is maintaining connections with people in his life. Which is necessary for the Bat-family as a whole and thus Gotham as well.
I feel Dick and Damian would be the perfect choice. Not only were they Batman and Robin in the past, so their chemistry is already present. But they also bring out the best in eachother and Dick truly understands Damian as present from Lazzrus Island when Damian ran away. Dick was the only one who gave him the talk he needed. Plus as much as Dick doesnt want to be Bruce, he would be Batman it without question to protect people. But even better, he will bring up Damian to take over for him and be not just an amazing Batman, but probably the best Batman, just like he was in the future in DCeased when he gave his life to save the world.
Barbara Gordon. Coordinated vigilante efforts don’t happen in this city without her. She’s mastered things behind the scenes and in the field. She’s trained her own protégés and has connections to basically all of Batman’s. She has the network and all the intel. She isn’t as strict about rules as Batman is. The only way she shouldn’t be in this conversation is if the assumption is that she is already going to be there as Oracle to help whoever else is picked.
Dick as a leader with his experience and Cassandra as a soldier with her skill would be perfect duo. They both aren`t great detectives and not the tech nerds but still most effective pair as I think. Others are either too young or too emotional. Jason and Azrael will be VERY effective at first, but sooner or later they will be intellectually and emotionally outplayed and killed. Cassandra, under competent command that will compensate for her shortcomings in tactics and scientific intelligence, will be an ideal replacement for Batman. She is stoic enoughl, is always alert and is just incredibly strong. If Tim had been less emotional and more experienced, he would have been an ideal replacement for Nightwing in his pair with Cassandra as a commander, because he is excellent in almost every aspect except combat, which compensates for Cass.
Tim could be an oracle type role, and Jason would fully commit to going non-lethal as long as he gets to kill Joker. A super genius and Batman's most ruthless soldier/best punching bag who isn't afraid to break a few rules (or skulls). Like Batman, an absolute menace to criminals, but a stalwart protector of the downtrodden like the poor, sick, and kids.
@huntertezz Cause Jace actually wants to be & is a type of Batman, and he intentionally protects another city as Batman. Trust me, at first I thought it was wild how he came out of nowhere just wearing the costume and took the name but when you read future state you'll see why he deserves it. Plus, if you read his solo series, you'll see he earned it there too. His batman is a more personable, and people focus Batman. He's brutal with his fist but also stops to talk to the citizens to figure out their concerns.
@@carlosT3000 Motives and talking to civilians are not enough reason to justify they becoming Gotham's protector. Jace has the least experience and skill out of everyone here. In Future State he had the batfamily helping against the Magistrate and I don't think he is the only hero is newyork so we don't know how he will be handling Gotham with less help.
@@carlosT3000 I read his solo series, didn't like it especially how it wrote Lucius and Luke. And I lost alot respect for Jace when he abandoned his family to be with his deadbeat mother. Even stopped calling the woman who raised him mom. He didn't earn the mantle (fs one did). He just started calling himself Batman and never once even interacted or asked permission from the Batman. Also I love the supersons so I was annoyed at how Dc was trying to make Jace replace Damian. Even let his girlfriend steal Damian's friend's name "Nobody"
A case could be made for pretty much all the robins and terry. Dick, Terry and Damian have all had successful outings as Batman. Tim had an arc where he not only protected but improved Gotham on his own as Red Robin. Jason’s initial red hood run successfully kept crime at a controlled and organised level. The others just haven’t gotten enough time at the level to really see them being a greater addition than terry and the main robins. My personal choice would be Dick and Tim, since there outings were the most practically successful. And more inportantly, Batman has specifically placed those two as his betters, he believes Tim is potentially smarter than him, and Nightwing as better than Batman. He did also list Damian as the potential for the best fighter in the DC universe, but when Dick and Tim can keep up just as well, I would say Dick and Tim’s advantages in all other regards put them over.
Terry is a pretty underrated choice IMO. He really acts like Bruce, with better tech and more social ability. Terry and TIm would be a horrific combination as Batman
Nightwing 1000% I agree with Tim Drake being underrated, and I wish they used him more as well. I would love to see Nightwing in the Reeves-verse. They kind of teased us with the mention of Bludhaven. They can't even get The Batman 2 off without a hitch, so I can't see them making a Bludhaven spinoff, but would love that. Maybe Nightwing would have to come back to protect Gotham in Batman's absence!!!!
Halfway through this video I had to pause and leave, but as I was off doing something else I thought "I think I would personally choose Dick and Terry, with Tim as a runner up" and wouldn't you know it, when I came back and finished the video I realized I predicting the future
Nightwing and Tim Drake no doubt. You got the greatest successor of Batman from a physical perspective and from a detective perspective respectively. You got Tim Drake on the detective focused cases and a team of both for the more physical/rogues centric cases
Honestly the best pairing from a cold, logical choice is Nightwing and Batman Betond, but the pair that I think would make the best story would be Nightwing and Red Hood. Batman's two first Robins, each one a very different person. Grayson being a guiding light, where Bruce is a black light, might change Red Hood away from murder. I could see them starting out as rivals, all the whole Nightwing being a more light-hearted, less cold version of the mentor that failed to save Jason Todd. But that's a conversation for another time.
Nightwing would be my first pick, since he is what Batman wishes he could of been. He has the brains and the skills, but he brings a hope and optimism that much more reflects Superman as he is the best of both worlds. Batman Beyond would be my other pick, since having a Batman would still be vital to keep Gotham safe, and he has shown he can hold the mantle as a successor to Bruce as he was allowed to wear the suit. At the end of the day, they were both made in the image of being a better Batman than the original, so I don't doubt Gotham would be safe with those two.
Nightwing and Tim Drake, Dick Grayson is said to take up the mantle after Batman dies or retires. Tim Drake is said to have detective skills riling that of Batman himself both are better than Damien.
Honestly Nightwing shouldn't be in Gotham long term at this point I mean come on he's got other places to be. I don't think anyone here can pull Red Hood in from killing or whatever and Batman isn't going to put him in charge because of that. So it's probably Tim Drake and Cass or something like that as the most realistic choice here.
Nightwing and Red hood. Nightwing has the relationship with Gordon, Alfred, and is the light to Batmans darkness. Red hood would be the guy to kill whoever needs to die
Dick Grayson and Tim Drake are the ideal choices. They have the best reputation, the best partnership with Bruce, and the best experience necessary to do this. I think these two are the best choices.
I think it would be a group of heroes, like nightwing, red hood, robin but I think the main hero would be batgirl & robin as they are the batfamily members the most grounded in Gotham
Technically Jason grew up in the streets of Gotham… he’s arguably “more grounded in Gotham” than Tim… and certainly Damian if that’s who you mean by “Robin.” But I just don’t like Jason much. I mean, if they had another vote for him to die or not, I’d vote to kill him. 🤷♀️ same with Damian. Both assholes lmao.
It's red hood and tim drake. Drake is the mastermind red hood the attack dog. Red hood with a amazing master plan would stop all crime in Gotham in record time. Plus tim can keep red hood in check with their relationship.
"Nightwing" Dick Grayson and "Batman Beyond" Terry McGuinness are the initial ones that I of. Thank-you!!! 👊👊✊✊👏👏👌👌👌 "Red Robin" Tim Drake is the Best Support to have.
Just off rip I think you'd need a detective to go with a fighter. I feel like Nightwing and Batman Beyond would be peak because neither are insane detectives, but I think they could work together well enough to figure stuff out. And they def got the fighting department covered. That or like, Tim and Damien, Cass and Tim, or Nightwing and Damien. Ngl tho if we ignoring Batman's code Jason and Azrael would clear out the criminal element lmao. I think it comes down to how you want Gotham to be protected. As close to 'by the book' as possible, or as efficiently as possible no matter the actions taken to do so.
How about a video on who's the perfect character to continue Batman's legacy after his death (except Terry McGinnis) and how would it affect DC universe
Nightwing it very consistently stated every time that Batman needs someone to take over for a while they Say him first Batman and Deathstroke both say he be the one who surpass batman in all aspects
I'm going to go with two pairings. The main one, is one I've seen others say and it's the one I think works best. Is Nightwing and Red Robin. Dick and Tim not only work extremely well together, Tim being the smarter, more detective person where Dick is the better fighter and more natural Leader. I think they'd understand that while they are operating as an equal pair, there are some things one brother does better than the other. The other pair, which I think could work well, is Batwoman and Red Robin. Cassandra and Tim would work similar to Dick and Tim, but she is the better fighter, the person who's been Batman longer and I think could rival Tim a bit more in smarts. Could also have a competitive streak between them that works to make them both stronger.
Uh to me Jason Todd aka the red hood and Terry mcginnis if these 2 get along together well these 2 are my favorite characters and they can be well batman's and team up as batman's so it makes sense but don't be rude to me if you disagree with me well that's is fine so let me know who the 2 batman's are your favorite and why I wanna know so yeah and peace out :)
In The Long Term It Would Go Like This Dick As Batman With Damian As Robin And Tim Doing His Own Thing To Tim As Batman With Terry As Robin And Damian Doing His Own Thing To Batman Beyond
either Red hood and Cassandra Cain or red hood and tim. Nightwing has to protect bludhaven and is with the titans, terry is from the future and im trying to be realistic, damian is way too young to protect gotham by himself i mean yeah he can get help but still, azrael would probably not be allowed in gotham and idk jace doesnt he live in NY?
He can leave the Titans. And the Titans' base is in Bludhaven so the city is protected. Also its not like Dick can't balance being in Gotham and in the Titans. He was leading the JLA when he became Batman last time.
Dick and Tim, in my opinion, are who Bruce would pick. I think in terms of stories that SHOULD be written, I’d love Jace and Terry. I feel like Jason and Michael would take on the job without anyone asking. Cassie and Damien would probably be the stubborn freaks to hunt down Bruce.
I like the idea of a Bat family civil war breaking out between red hood, damain, azrael an cassandra cain vs nightwing, tim drake, bababra Gordon, jace fox. The characters willing to break the rules against the ones that do things by the books 😂
Cass has tge most by the books no kill rule in the entire batfamily lmfao, the main reason batman took her into the batfamily was the immense pain and regret she felt after killing someone as a child raised to be a weapon by David cain.
@@abiodunsulaiman2297 think you misunderstood what i said never mentioned anyone killing anyone, she may have a no kill rule but that doesn't stop her being brutal as fuck which is why I chucked her in the one group, I am an avid comic reader myself so I don't need her character brake down.
@@ieuanevans3760 that still doesn't make sense, she removed the bat symbol from Kate suit after she killed Clayface, there is zero chance she's working with fucking red hood
@@abiodunsulaiman2297 there all batfamily members which have all worked together at one point or another, she works with him in dceased: Unkillables. no need to get so hostile man😂
I'd pick Dick Grayson and Daimen Wayne when Batman was gone in the comics at one point Dick did become Batman with Daimen as his Robin and it seems like they did a good job there why not have them do it again here and with how much growth Daimen has gotten over the years I think he would be a good choice number 2 with Nightwing
I think the best BruceWayne Batman stand in is probably Dick Grayson. But I would rather see others take up protecting Gotham. And that’s gothams city boys and my personal favorites so I’m biased but Tim Drake and Jason Todd together. And honorable mention to the original Batgirl; Barbara Gordon as Batgirl or Oracle.
The correct answer is Terry; mainly because he is Batman and always was meant to be. (I know you mentioned this at the end and like Dick's my favorite Batman character just my opinion about this hypothetical.) He was never a Robin unlike most of the Bat-Family and wants to be Batman and has the perfect mix of being raised and not by Bruce. Terry might have not been raised by Bruce, but by extension he also fell into being Batman very similarly to Batman himself and Spider-Man. He is perfect for being the protector. Though, correction: (Spoilers for JLU) Terry isn't Bruce's clone; he's biologically his son. This isn't a theory of mine btw this is confirmed in JLU.
I don't think we're thinking of the same arc because after Bruce died, Tim was a terrible batman who hated his life and killed people
@@sweetsweetalib4857 I'm talking about Search of a Hero arc, it was right before Battle for the Cowl. Tim becomes an evil Batman in a possible future and it happened because of circumstances, not because of Batman's mantle.
My pick as well
Alfred Pennyworth obviously no one wants the butler smoke.
Tell that to zasz
just imagine the scene from micheal keaton bat man but with alfred
"who are you?"
" I'm Alfred Thaddeus Crane Pennyworth" and then he kills the guy
Yeah that was only in the Injustice verse I feel like in any other context Alfred would have fucking annihilated Zazz @@OmniDan26
Nightwing and Batman beyond
Same
Totally
i agree or damian
Saved me 20 minutes. thank you (this is a joke. I'm still watching the video to support the creator)
Same
Nightwing and Tim Drake is the optimal choice, perfect collaboration of brains and brawns w 2 of the most level headed members of the bat family
Great pairing
I think a lot of people agree with this statement I personally would chose Nightwing or Batman Beyond but Tim is close in my opinion. I also agree that Dick and Tim are the most level header characters in the bunch.
Hell yeah awesome choice
Easy. Tim as the best detective and Cassandra as the best fighter are the perfect duo that cover each other weaknesses.
Out of those offered they are the best. Cassandra has the easiest time stopping crimes and Tim is the best detective out of those pictured. If Bruce was Batman and went missing, Terry wouldn't be alive yet.
I think Nightwing and Cassandra could be a strong duo. You could say that damien was a great partner to Nightwing while he was batman, but his anger and arrogance gets in the way of his ability imo.
yeah, i chose them because it makes the most sense
Yeaaaa
Shiddd Cassandra could replace batman but I'm not hippped to how good her detective skills will work
I'd rather see Azrael and Red Hood with Cassandra Cain being the on-call person just to see how Batman's rogues gallery would look like after they're done.
That's cheating
Imagine a Red Hood-Damian duo
That would be chaotic af.. wonder why they haven't made a comic out of those 2 yet
Would be a short run. All of Gothams villains would be dead within the week.
I would personally go Cass and Terry.
Dick is obviously also highly qualified i just think the character belongs in Bludhaven
They are also two characters that I think could be great in a relationship. So their dynamic could be great.
For me its one of these combinations (not in any particular order):
1. Dick Grayson / Cassandra Cane
2. Barbra / Dick Grayson
3. Terry McGuinness / Helena Wayne
4. Barba Gordan / Tim Drake
5. Dick Grayson / Damian Wayne
Fun discussion. Here are the scenarios I think would be fun.
DREAM TEAM: Cass and Tim
I love that Cass could basically beat all these guys (even Batman). She is a more nimble threat and is easily underestimated by Gotham's (male) criminals. Tim is the detective/tech guy with the moral heart of the team here.
TEAM I WOULD LOVE TO HATE: Oracle (bio not provided) and Damian
This team would write itself. (Also, Alfred would have a strong role supporting the team and each hero/ine individually.)
CRAZY MIX-UP TEAM: Az-Bats and Batman Beyond
Jean-Paul in the original Knightfall suit (my favorite skin in the WB Games) and Terry with his high-tech gadgetry would be a fun romp in the streets of Gotham City. I think there would be tension between them (and mutual respect) and sort of a Leo/Raph dynamic.
MANTLE OF THE BAT TEAM: Nightwing and Jason (followed by Tim, Cassandra and then Damian)
Straight line of succession. Nightwing mentors Jason for a while, then Jason leads Tim for a while who, in turn, works with Cass for a time who, finally, takes Damian under her wing.
B-SIDE TEAM: Jace Fox, Stephanie Brown, Harold (remember him? Cave support), and Ace the Bat-Hound
Just a fun collection of Bat family members who don't get the props they deserved.
ELSEWORLDS TEAM: Batman/Wonder Woman offspring - a boy and a girl (twins)
This would just be a fun venture, I think. Imagine a world where the heroes died out, left Earth or whatnot. All that's left after Bruce and Diana are dead are their teenage children, cared for by a dying Alfred and their Cyborg/Robot butler (programmed with Bruce and Diana's memories/techniques to be unlocked).
ANSWERING THE QUESTION SERIOUSLY TEAM: Nightwing and Tim
This just works.
I agree with your decision. Batman Beyond and Nightwing are the best choices They can stay Batman and Nightwing too.
I feel like some combination of Nightwing, Tim Drake, and Batman Beyond would be the most effective.
If DC gave Jason his original goal back he would've had my pick. But they don't so Cassandra is my pick
Terry pretty much proved he's the best because we've seen his complete story. Avenges His family, Beats The Joker, Helps The Batfamily Heal Over Time and Gets Married later on never becominh as Distant as Bruce.
literally lol
I would pick Cass and Tim they've shown to work great together and are also both The best in terms of fighting skills and intellect respectively.
I feel like asriel whould probably be better at kiling
If Batman selected the next Batman as one of these, these would be who I'd pair with them:
Dick: I'd pair him with Tim as Red Robin- two highly skilled fighters, I don't think Tim would fight Dick for the role, and he'd be OK with it, and they'd be fun (second: Terry)
Tim: I'd pair him with Damian as Robin- virtually all the others on this list wouldn't be happy taking orders from Tim as Batman, so Damian as the youngest makes the most sense (Second: Stephanie Brown as Spoiler, but she isn't here, so instead I'd say Terry, who would probably look out for Tim seeing what happens to him in the future)
Jason: I'd pair him with Jean-Paul as Azrael- Jason would select his helper I'd think, and he would choose Azrael as the other one who'd get what needs to be done to save the city (second: Damian)
Damian: I'd pair him with Dick as Nightwing- He needs a strong and older force to keep him in check and make sure he keeps the Batman code (second: Cassandra. I feel they'd get along)
Cassandra: I'd pair her with Tim as Red Robin- Brawn and brains. He would solve the crimes, she would punch whovever she needs to (second: maybe Damian, as she would be a good person to train him)
Jean-Paul: I'd pair him with Damian as Robin- Jean-Paul and Damian have similar elements to their backstories, and I feel the two would be a strong team (second: Jason)
Jace: I'd pair him with Cassandra- Jace as a genius and Batman would probably clash with virtually everyone else on this list, especially the Robins who were trained for this purpose, Cassandra would be a strong force who wouldn't want to step on his toes (second: Damian, who I'd say wants to be Batman the least)
Terry: if for some reason, this is Terry in modern day, then I would pair him with Tim as Red Robin- The only thing with Dick is I feel he wouldn't be happy with some random future guy who claims to be chosen as the next Batman, and the two may butt heads, Tim's intellect means he would compliment Terry more (second: Cassandra, for the same reasons I paired her with Jace)
Conclusion:
Best new Batman: Dick or Tim
Best new sidekick: Cassandra or Damian
Most violent Batman: Jean-Paul or Jason
(If neither became Batman, and it was just two crime fighters, I'd then say Dick and Tim as the best pairing with Cassandra and Terry as their respective seconds)
I assume that Alfred is still Butler, Barbara is still Oracle, Jim Gordon is still Commisioner and Lucius now runs Wayne Enterprises.
Since Tim Drake is greatest detective in this list and Cassandra Cain is the Best fighter in this list I'd choose both of them.
The fact that my initial thought was, "Dick and Terry would probably make a good team." Is wild.
Tim Drake and Batman Beyond, easily.
Pretty much nightwing with anyone consistently he stated by both Batman and Deathstroke that if anyone could replace Batman it be him and that he will suprass batman
Its not only said. It happened for several years.
Jason Todd aka Red Hood/Cassandra Cain
Dick and Damian are my ideal team. Dick's the best successor and best choice as a mentor for Damian. They're both deadly, intelligent, and capable. They are their own dynamic duo.
I think there are two main answers.
Short term: Nightwing and Tom Drake. Nightwing was considered *the* replacement for Bruce after he was presumed dead, but he never really was the best detective. Tim Drake isn’t as good of a fighter/leader as Grayson, but he is a lot smarter and the only person Ra’s al Ghoul refers to as “detective.”
They would both do a good job for filling in until Bruce comes back.
Off the bat, my mind goes to Cass and Damian or Jason.
Honestly I'd say Nightwing and Batman Beyond. Mostly for the fact the two are without a doubt the best proteges Bruce has had not just in terms of skills but also being well-adjusted as people. Dick is a natural leader and while Bruce tends to push people away occasionally, Dick has the ability to draw people towards him (One of the first to connect with someone as stubborn and hard headed as Damian.)
Terry whether or not he's Bruce's 'clone' or not.
NightWing and Batman Beyond
Although if you want it dark Azrael and Red Robin
Barbara Gordon. Coordinated vigilante efforts don’t happen in this city without her. She’s mastered things behind the scenes and in the field. She’s trained her own protégés and has connections to basically all of Batman’s. She has the network and all the intel. She isn’t as strict about rules as Batman is. The only way she shouldn’t be in this conversation is if the assumption is that she is already going to be there as Oracle to help whoever else is picked.
I said Nightwing & Terry in the beginning so I’m happy that’s what ended up being your choice
Batman beyond and jace fox.
Or Jace fox and Nightwing
Why Jace? He is kinda the least experienced here.
Tim, cass, Terry. Them’s my choices lolol
Nightwing and Tim Drake no doubt.
You got the greatest successor of Batman from a physical perspective and from a detective perspective respectively.
You got Tim Drake on the detective focused cases and a team of both for the more physical/rogues centric cases
Eh, Grayson’s better.
Tim Drake is said to have detective skills riling that of Batman himself both are better than Damien.
i know is an awful choice.... But I'd choose Asrael and Red Hood because it would be chaotic
They would definitely "permanently" cleam up Gotham lol
Honestly Nightwing shouldn't be in Gotham long term at this point I mean come on he's got other places to be. I don't think anyone here can pull Red Hood in from killing or whatever and Batman isn't going to put him in charge because of that. So it's probably Tim Drake and Cass or something like that as the most realistic choice here.
Nightwing and Red hood. Nightwing has the relationship with Gordon, Alfred, and is the light to Batmans darkness. Red hood would be the guy to kill whoever needs to die
Azreal and Jason Todd. Easily.
Damien and Dick (if Nightwing hadn’t gone to another city) or Signal; runner up
Dick Grayson and Tim Drake are the ideal choices. They have the best reputation, the best partnership with Bruce, and the best experience necessary to do this. I think these two are the best choices.
I say Terry and Jace just because I think it would be cool to have two Batmen to replace the missing Batman.
Cassandra is my choice
I think it would be a group of heroes, like nightwing, red hood, robin but I think the main hero would be batgirl & robin as they are the batfamily members the most grounded in Gotham
Technically Jason grew up in the streets of Gotham… he’s arguably “more grounded in Gotham” than Tim… and certainly Damian if that’s who you mean by “Robin.” But I just don’t like Jason much. I mean, if they had another vote for him to die or not, I’d vote to kill him. 🤷♀️ same with Damian. Both assholes lmao.
The choice you made was my choice from the start. There is no one better!
Nightwing and Batman Beyond just offers an immediate and an almost immediately certain success rate.
It's red hood and tim drake. Drake is the mastermind red hood the attack dog. Red hood with a amazing master plan would stop all crime in Gotham in record time. Plus tim can keep red hood in check with their relationship.
Nightwing and Damian they’ve done it before they can do it again
Superman has went missing pick 2 members of the Superman family pictures to protect the City until Superman’s return please
That is a really hard q-
Nightwing
Terry McGinnis & Nightwing
A similar story happened in DC's animated film Batman: Bad Blood.
I think you mean Bat Family: Bad Blood because Batman is in a total of about 90 seconds of that movie and isn’t remotely the focus lmao
"Nightwing" Dick Grayson and "Batman Beyond" Terry McGuinness are the initial ones that I of. Thank-you!!! 👊👊✊✊👏👏👌👌👌 "Red Robin" Tim Drake is the Best Support to have.
Shocked at the lack of Kate Kane and Stephanie Brown, or even Luke Fox
Stephanie want alone for one night and died
Nightwing it very consistently stated every time that Batman needs someone to take over for a while they Say him first
Batman and Deathstroke both say he be the one who surpass batman in all aspects
Even tho she isn’t on the list, I would pick Kate Kane/Batwoman & Cassandra Caine 🦇
either Red hood and Cassandra Cain or red hood and tim.
@@abiodunsulaiman2297 there all batfamily members which have all worked together at one point or another, she works with him in dceased: Unkillables. no need to get so hostile man😂
@@ieuanevans3760 DCeased is an ekseworld completely separate from the main continuity
Well, Nightwing already successfully fulfilled the role you are talking about. When Azrael did it, he went way too far.
Y'all don't even know, y'all sleeping on Damian and Red Hood, they're both killers. In under a week there would be no more crime, they could retire
Nightwing and Terry would be tuff🔥
Had the same thoughts
Nightwing is Batman’s equal. Terry is the Batman of the future. They could both do things fine solo
Nightwing and Batman Beyond ez
Azreal and red hood. I want bloodshed.
My choices would be Dick Grayson and Tim Drake and my honorable mention would be Azrael but mostly just cause he’s awesome
Tim and Terry would be the best, I think.
Jace fox and Cassandra Cain is the obvious choice
Me !!!! Why does everyone forget about me, Orpheus, Bluebird, Flamebird, Gotham & Gotham Girl, etc. ?
Nightwing and Red Robin
tim drake for life
i would pick batman beyond and red robin
Azrael
