    Very informative, thanks! I was considering the Tombow eraser vs the Derwent or Cretacolor electric erasers, but that Tenwin has caught my eye. Finer erasers and recharging are big advantages in my eyes.

      Yes, the Tewnwin is great. It is also re-branded under many other names. The Affmat version comes with a lot of extra re-fills. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment

    I have two monozeros that allow for greater control than the electric. One is round and the other is oblong. I also have the Tenwin which is amazing. The button could have done with being recessed as it doesn't take much to trigger when laid aside but even so... The collar or sleeve - the part that holds the erasar - is interchangeable for different thicknesses and has an important advantage for being made of plastic rather than metal. I use it for the thin eraser which is kept at a fine point and only extended at a short length, so as not to break as it is fragile. I also have a Derwent which has a thicker eraser and a metal sleeve. The erasers do wear down quickly and with metal there is a risk of scratching the drawing. It is just something to be cautious of. That is where the plastic sleeves have an advantage. I certainly don't recommend those that have metal for the thin eraser.

      The tenwin is definitely the best I have used and I have tried quite a few. Used an old Helix `in the old days and at the time it was great but not a patch on the tenwin.

    I have a question. Can't I just use the electric eraser without pressing the button and still perform the same function as a tombow monozero? I've used pencil erasers in the past, not tombows, but from this video they both seem like they're essentially the same. And honestly, I prefer working with the electric eraser rather than the eraser pencil.

      @pranavageeth9871 I personally prefer the electric as well. Yes you could use the electric the same way as the Tombo but the tip could rotate as you use it depending on how tight the motor is. I used the tombo to test it and for the video but after that it went back in the draw. Thank you for watching.

    Which one did you advise to buy first for beginners

    • @JamieBoots
      @JamieBoots  4 місяці тому +1

      @excellentholuwasheyi2754 If you are just starting I would say go for the Tombow as it is the cheapest option. You can always add the electric later as you gain experience.

    Brilliant video mate! I had never considered using an electric eraser on my work?

      Couldn't do without it. I think tenwin is the manufacturer but they are also branded as Tihoo, Afmat and many others. The Amat comes with extra refills. I do know a lot of people also use electric erasers on charcoal for whiskers and highlighting fur.

    How can I put another mono zero if the previous one has finished?
    I’ve been trying it for like a day now but I did not get it

      @Fasasiridwanullahi On the one I had you held the button in to remove the old one and then do the same to insert a new one. Hope this helps

    I have electric erasers the same as yours and i wouldn't be without them. That said i wouldn't be without my tombow or kneadable eraser either, they're all essential drawing kit as far as I'm concerned.

      Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment. It's great to have so many options to help create a piece of artwork and all of these are so much more than just erasers.

    What did you use to make those white furs on your sketch, mono or electric or something else. I want to draw realistic white hairs but not sure which one can give me better results.

      Personally I prefer the electric as I feel it removes more tone, but the Tombo is a good tool as well. In the video I used them both to clean out the whiskers on the face. For the fur texture on the cat I used a dart that has been blunted on the end to indent texture into the paper. This is used to first indent very fine texture into the paper and when a blunt pencil is used over the top it reveals the texture. This is very effective but does take a long time and you do need a tough paper. This wants to be a hot press watercolour paper and around 300 gram, the one I would recommend is St Cuthbers Saunders Waterford as this indents well and is relatively tough and also takes dark tone very well. Hope this is of help and thanks for watching.

    Great video Booty, Inuse the Tombo but that electric eraser looks the buiseness.
    What was the make of the 3 B Graphite block?

    • @JamieBoots
      @JamieBoots  Рік тому +1

      Good to hear from you. The block was a CARAN d'ACHE and was turned into powder with the help of a Nutribullet blender; I can't be done with all that sanding, it takes to long!😀
