I'm always impressed with your skills and ingenuity along with constant hard work. I may be 62 years old but I still say America needs more men like you. Responsible and hardworking.
Good morning mike, love the way you care for your animals..you take such pride in your family and your ranch..just a breath of fresh air..Thanks for allowing us in your daily life.
I wish I could know if UA-cam money helps because I watch all the ads because I know they are part of your resource of revenue and I love to support you guys! ❤️
I had this thought as I was watching you work the head gate on the old chute. Those old chutes that were often made without zerks will respond well to a grease needle and Tri Flow spray lube. That is particularly necessary if you need to use the self catch head safely and with less noise. That is also a good Idea for your calving head gate. We often forget about this maintenance until we suddenly need the chute and are working alone. That can put our safety at risk when an animal that would have been caught, escapes. We need to be safe out there. Best of luck with our new setup.
I have really enjoyed watching you vids. You are very different from other channels in the sense that you appear very straight and open . You do not appear to have a hidden agenda. You talk about and show your family in a natural way. Good on you.
Thank you Mike! Here on a late summer Sunday morning, always nice to listen and follow along as you rework and modernize a piece of your operation! Hope Erin is back up and doing well again too :-) -Bob...
All that hard work; boom gone😳, but hey look at that wonderful new equipment 💥. Who knows what new things will be available when the kiddos take over. Hope Erin is feeling better.
Like it's been said over and over, if you want an omelette, you have to crack an egg. I'm sure you had eggs to crack 7yrs ago as well to make the last system work. Crack that egg and you'll be rewarded with the omelette. Nice job. The inspiration to do it is enough said. Great work. Can't wait to see it in action 😀
Those old WW chutes we're hard to beat!!! We still use ours, alley and corral set up has been changed/rebuilt probably four times in the last 60 years.. last time we put in a Prefert tub and alley. Rebuilt the old WW chute/scale combo, upgraded the scale with load bars, went digital!! Our set up is in a narrow space between the barn and the property line. We are replacing the line fence, and as we have leased the neighbors for the last 35+ years, I plan to add a few holding pens on their side of the line... Would love to have a hydraulic chute, but at 80 momma's, we're still good with the old WW.... Got a buddy in Idaho, he helps out a dozen or so ranches preg checking, he loves the hydraulic chutes, said 600+ in a day is easy... But with a manual chute, he said 250 and it's too long of a day. Thanks for the video!!! Love the new setup!! But it needs a scale😎
Morning 😘 Mike Hope Erin feeling much better on this beautiful Sunday morning. Another great video of thank for the update and sharing. Have a wonderful blessed day 🙏 😇❣️
My first comment! I've been binge watching your channel for a couple of weeks now. Really feel like I've learned a lot about ranching. As an office cube jockey your whole operation fascinates me. Thanks for the peek into your lives. Hope the produce store doesn't suffer from the coal mine closures I've been reading about this morning in your area. God Bless!
it looks like hard work to take things down and then try to get the Arrowquip portable corral into place but after its done , it looks nice and your ready to use it. Good Job Mike ! thanks for the video
...we can always count on things changing, and as usual, it looks like you're up for the challenge! Sure appreciate that common sense of yours as it comes in right handy! Good luck, and love to your family 🙂
It's hard to see the old being torn down but progress is inevitable and more efficient. Good luck Mike. Great camera shots, music, editing = Awesome Video.
Adaptability is the key to agriculture these days. Easier, faster, and more economical is the future. Who would have thought that tractors and harvesters would drive themselves 10 years ago.
How ironic, early this morning I was driving into Minneapolis when I passed a semi carrying a couple of Arrowquip things and my thought was "hey, I just recently saw those on Our Wyoming Life! Cool!" and now I get home and there's another video about Arrowquip from you in my feed.
Hi again Good job Mike! Helps tons to have the right equipment especially when you're redoing the corrals all by yourself. Will be interesting to see the new addition at work coming up. I'm sure these will be welcomed changes. Safer easier faster always good things!! I always smile at you Mike when I see you do certain things as I picture you in studio on radio! You've surely come a long way!!! Enjoy the nice and better weather before you know what!! Stay safe out there...
Hello C C, Im looking forward to finishing the corrals, and using toe Aeroquip set-up. When I look back at the previous life it seems like a world away. -Mike
So jealous of the new system... I looked into one last year at western ranch. I also know the feeling of tearing down your hard work for an improvement... Every year I seem to be redoing something on the corrals to help the next year... Or a cow finds a new creative way of getting out and breaking something so improvements are always a must. Can't wait to see the new system in action!
Great job Mike that's going to be great for you to use here pretty soon I'm glad you got it in place now just to finish up a few odds and ends before you put it to workkeep doing what you're doing you're doing a great job
Good morning mike . That corral system should make a nice addition to the ranch . i'll stop out next summer and check it out . Hope all is well , Take care
Hi Mike: Incredible video. Loved the slow-mo and your envision how the Q-quip system would be "dropped in." A great story, well told. Thanks and best wishes for the busy Fall season. - Dean from Minnesota
Great upgrade, Mike. Hope to build new corrals to handle my big herd of 25 next year. Large or small, you are right that proper handling system makes a one man operation easier and safer. Good luck.
Your old setup would be an improvement for me! But at least I have a chute! I was looking at Sioux chutes a few years ago till I saw the price! Saw the price on those arrows and thought yea right but a closer look and they are great value for the buck. For 15 cows I'll stick it out with my old set up but someday....
Looks pretty good so far Mike! So sorry you had to remove what took you months to build tho but in the long run - it looks awesome!! Will be excited to see it in all its glory...!! Another great video. My best to Erin and Lincoln - getting over the crud myself so I wish them a speedy recovery!!
Hi Mike, when you are done will you be able to pull the head gate out and take it to a pasture to work cattle? Still sidelined here but hope to get in the woods next month to start running new line's in the sugar bush. Thanks for the video!!!!!
Mike: "Dear, we're going to need to rent a Chinook in order to get the new shoot into place." Erin: "WHAT?!?!? We can't afford that!!" Mike: "I figure we'll just sell Gracie." Gracie: O - o
At least you will be able to recycle your materials! Looks like an awesome upgrade!!! Safety alone is worth all your hard work!!!! I enjoy watching your videos! Do you have a Kentucky license plate on your wall yet???
Thanks Cindy. We try to reuse material whenever we can. I agree you can never be to safe around the cattle. We can always use another plate! Thanks for watching. -Mike
Mike, amazing transformation on the chute system. The C & W song was okay, but a classic R & R would have been nice too. The Arrowquip systems will be great I improvement
Good glory, Mike, you are super good with those tractors. And to see a rancher playing with some calves, well, that was the frosting on the cake. Nice setup. Now, do you have to slow drive the bulls back home since you set that rig up in the barnyard?
Hopefully that Arrowquip system is as good as the Mfg thinks it will be. Maybe with really good reviews they'll give you a really good deal on it or give it you outright, because putting the old system back in the same place is gonna be a big pain In the butt.😁
Who are you? A tv commentator, a storyteller, a drone operator, a video editor, a cameraman, a mechanic, a handyman or a ranch owner? I am impressed. Great Job Mike. Loving it!
So is this a permanent set up for you? I recall they were loaning to you, but i would assume yes since you are tearing up your current setup. One this is you show them they need hitch mounts at both ends or that is my thoughts. Nice work Mike.
well I hope you have this as a perm setup. Will be nice and save you time and hopefully money. I would rather you grow the heard vs. cut down. To bad you guys cannot irrigate some of that hay land or GOD throw more rain your way.. We had 104 inches n 2018 in Wilmington, NC, would have loved to give you 20 of it.
Seems between introducing the system and field testing it, you seem pretty impressed, and the fact that you're incorporating it into your existing coral. So some items I have noticed during your video reviews. 1) Looks like it could use another hitch position on the other side to make it more adjusting for towing from either side; 2) If use in an on the go portable applications, it could use some individual gates, and perhaps onboard storage for said gates, say 6-10 gates for easier straight to field use on one system; 3) Perhaps optional additional automation, such as self setup of the capture shoot or wheel that pivot up out of the way versus needing to be removed each time (pivot much like they do on a disc or plow). Otherwise it looks like you're really impressed with this system. Will this same system serve for other animals such as boars, sows, rams, uwes, pigs, sheep, goats, and farm stock, or if it strictly for steers and cows?
It’s pretty much for cows and calves, I’m not sure it could contain a pig :), I mentioned some of the same things in another video about having storage for panels and they told me they are working on a system like that. Thanks a bunch - MIke
Wow that pole plucker works great! The Bob cat is also very handy too!
I'm always impressed with your skills and ingenuity along with constant hard work. I may be 62 years old but I still say America needs more men like you. Responsible and hardworking.
Judy
Nice system, safety for everyone is the key
Good morning mike, love the way you care for your animals..you take such pride in your family and your ranch..just a breath of fresh air..Thanks for allowing us in your daily life.
Thank you very much Glenn - Mike
This didn't have commercials so i found one and watched 5 commercials for you. You are amazing at what you do and i want to see it blossom.
I wish I could know if UA-cam money helps because I watch all the ads because I know they are part of your resource of revenue and I love to support you guys! ❤️
The only way we get paid from UA-cam is if someone watches the ads. The longer you watch the more cents we make. Thank you very much -Mike
Our Wyoming Life Thanks Mike and Erin for making great content and teaching us about ranching!
I love corrals so I loved this video

I just loaded that exact same squeeze chute on the trailer to take to the auction. Replaced with hi hog manual chute. Alley. Tub. And bud box.

Saw the price on those arrows and thought yea right but a closer look and they are great value for the buck. For 15 cows I'll stick it out with my old set up but someday....
Nice looking rig. I'd love to rip down my corral system and start over.
It’s always an adventure Thanks Chris - Mike
Looks pretty good so far Mike! So sorry you had to remove what took you months to build tho but in the long run - it looks awesome!! Will be excited to see it in all its glory...!! Another great video. My best to Erin and Lincoln - getting over the crud myself so I wish them a speedy recovery!!
Thank you Susan, every one is upright and moving, that is a start. Hoping the improvements pay off - Mike
Liked your "post hole" dance. :)
That’s gonna suck going from that nice big alley way to a real short ally way... makes it a real pain
Hi Mike, when you are done will you be able to pull the head gate out and take it to a pasture to work cattle? Still sidelined here but hope to get in the woods next month to start running new line's in the sugar bush. Thanks for the video!!!!!
Hey Gary. Yes. I will use panels to tie it in so I can take them in and out. Glad to hear you are getting back to it. Thanks -Mike
I'm 30, and just realized how petty I am.. OUT LOUD I said "How does he have a nicer toolbox than me"🤣..
We can all have pretty things :). Thanks Zeke - Mike
That chute in manufactured just 3/4 of an hour south of me, they are very popular here.
Mike: "Dear, we're going to need to rent a Chinook in order to get the new shoot into place."
Erin: "WHAT?!?!? We can't afford that!!"
Mike: "I figure we'll just sell Gracie."
Gracie: O - o
the posts might look old but they could be used elsewhere great video
The posts are only 7 years old. :). Definitely gonna get reused. Thanks a bunch -Mike
Smart move. This even looks more efficient. Best of luck and maybe more cows next year??!!
-Mike
Good luck with the improvements, 30 years from now you be in the TV sofa pushing a remote control and everything happening automagically.
Mike, amazing transformation on the chute system. The C & W song was okay, but a classic R & R would have been nice too. The Arrowquip systems will be great I improvement
I think your right about the Aeroquip being an improvement. Thanks for watching Tom. -Mike

Or has he bought the system now? He seem to be pretty sure to keep the system...
Luckily I saved everything and it can go back together. At the very least I am going to end up buying a new chute. Thanks - Mike
You should hire Eb Dawson.
Who are you?
A tv commentator, a storyteller, a drone operator, a video editor, a cameraman, a mechanic, a handyman or a ranch owner?
I am impressed. Great Job Mike. Loving it!
He is all in one :)
is that silencer chute on 2:25?
Is thir a way to add a gate incase you need to pull it out to the pasture
So is this a permanent set up for you? I recall they were loaning to you, but i would assume yes since you are tearing up your current setup.
One this is you show them they need hitch mounts at both ends or that is my thoughts. Nice work Mike.
LOL, to answer your question. Yes, No or Maybe we shall see? LOL Lets see what the future holds? Thanks for watching Robert. -Mike
well I hope you have this as a perm setup. Will be nice and save you time and hopefully money. I would rather you grow the heard vs. cut down.
