Eight Ball Deluxe is remarkable addictive. Possibly my favorite from the 80s.

@@GonzosPinballFlipperama I'm not an expert, but I'm also enjoying Seawitch, which I believe is from around the same time.

You have seen the Light. This opens up a whole new world of great games to you. Games that are affordable, easier to work on, and entertaining. The gotta play machines? Stern Meteor and Flight 2000. One of my favorites Steve Ritchie's first Williams Machine "Flash". 1st machine with background sound ( a every increasing pitch that builds tension.) 1st machine with Flash Bulbs. Very Easy to Understand and enjoyable Progression. "Firepower", "Blackout", Bally "Evel Kneviel" (Great Spinners), "Mata Hari" (looks boring, plays great). A lot of great games in this era, easy to understand and gives you a great 15 minutes (or more) of play time. Have machines from all eras but will never give up my Williams System 4's and Bally SS machines.

Ouch the flipper hop on that eight ball is dangerous! Should be a smooth roll from guide to flipper.
Good to see more of the classics, you need to play a Centaur, or one of my classic Zaccarias like Locomotion 😍

I was really routing for you to make the 8 Ball shot on that 1st game m8. Thats how these pins ate the money its just a one more attempt game.
I also love the retro sounds and speech it just takes me back to when I was a kid. BTW you went from Zero to Hero on that 2nd game especially on the first ball 🤩 Great Vid keep up the good work.

I was playing dozens of pinballs in the 80-90 periods but the Eight ball deluxe as always been my favorite. Why ? because it is in the same time hard and challenging to not loose the ball but very rewarding to play this simple and straight foward rules game. I think newer pinball after was too overly complex to understand really the rules ... ( I mean I was playing for relaxing, not for studying rules and law :p )

Impressive games Gonzo. That 8 ball deluxe seems to be setup quite steep too. Btw, that is the limited edition of the game. Which they ran after Mr and Mrs Pac-Man sold terribly, and they had extra cabinets that they needed to use. On the more common, standard edition, the scores are in the backbox like on your Dolly.
Eight Ball Deluxe is all about the bonus. Each ball you knock down adds 7k to your bonus. The left drop bank multiplies the bonus. And the saucer and ball drain awards the bonus.
Hence, you can build up a 112k bonus from completing two sets of balls, 5x that to have 560k bonus. Then keep shooting for the saucer to keep awarding it.

Nice... i saw that and the layout looked SO familiar.... Looks like Sega basically copied it With Golden Cue!!! Literally the only differencee seems to be the drop target lane on this is a ramp on the newer one! Cheeky!

This general design was copied a few times. Golden Cue never actually made it onto the production line. You might be thinking of Sharkey's Shootout. Which is the finished game released by Stern (after Stern bought out the Sega Pinball division).
Bad Girls is another example of the game being copied. Though in that one, the shots are essentially mirrored, with the drops being on the left.
Cue Ball Wizard copied the Cowboy pool theme, but the playfield itself is a copy of Big Shots/Hot Shots.
