- Would you rather have a modern pinball machine or a classic retro game? In this video I show you my newly restored Theatre of Magic pinball game which I recently swapped for the Foo Fighters flipper machine in my games room. We take a look at the playfield, toys and of course a quick bit of gameplay on this classic restoration.

Great classic and beautiful pin, love the ball flow and charming theme. I love those 90s classics with original theme. Top 10 pin for sure. White water and theatre magic deserve remakes.
Thanks mate . . . hopefully we have a Whitewater coming soon.
Beautiful example of my favorite game, thank you!
Wow! Great game, all-time classic for me.
About bloody time!
Thats a beautiful unit AND its a really appealing game to play. I have the VPin version and its endless hours of fun.
Lovely game. Hoping CGC will make a remake.
If they do, I wonder if they would tweak the code?
@@GonzosPinballFlipperamaI talked to cg once and asked the same question about medieval madness and they said they don't touch the original code. I think the license might prevent them from doing so.
@@TampaTec All they'd need to do is nerf the left orbit reward, then the game would actually start appearing at tournaments.
Ive owned a TOM for about 16 years I still love it. I drove a couple hours to play a Champion Pub at an arcade. The CP was out of order, but next to it was a TOM that I fell in love with. At that time I got it for 3300.
A Bally classic. The opportunities for playing combos on the ramps is its greatest strength, for my money. Beautiful example you have there!
Thanks very much
Parents left 12yo me in the arcade with this on free play first table that gave me the pinball vibe, thought took me to 38yo before I found one in the wild and completed it.
That's a great story . . . even better that it was on freeplay
This is my favorite pin and Foo Fighters is my favorite layout.
Thanks Jack
Theatre of magic!!!
What a great game
Congratulations 🎉
Thanks Matthew
That’s one beautiful looking game! Congrats! Hope you have some videos coming up on the work you are doing to it.
Thanks Dude, we'll definitely keep you posted
It’s funny you got this as I’ve been thinking about getting one as well. I might have to take this as a sign.
I think you should 😉
Don't blame it on the sunshine, don't blame it on the moonlight, don't blame it on the good time, blame it on the tripod! 😂
😂😂
Well worth getting an ‘indestructible’ trunk too - no more loose chippings flying about 😊.
Ahhh, I wasn't sure if that one was one of the indestructible ones. Thanks
Congratulations, great game!
Thanks Bruno
Looks absolutely beautiful mate, I've always fancied one but ended up with a Pinball Magic instead and didn't want a magic overload 😂
Can't have too much magic mate 😉
A Beautiful game, impressive job! You only need to add a color DMD... A keeper! As you said, replace the bulbs with LED lights which are brighter and much cooler in temperatures.
Thanks dude.
Nice machine you have there. Definitely a keeper and very easy on the eye. Rules are a little bit simplistic though and I wish the ‘Poof’ target actually did something! However it’s very difficult to reach the Grand Finale. I’ve had a TOM for 18 years now, a pretty nice one from the late Mike Kloss, the ‘Duke of Pinball’, in Denmark. I also have a TZ that will soon be brought back to life - Big shout out to Phil at Pinball Heaven for his excellent knowledge, work and service 🎉
Oh, I didn't know that target didn't do anything, I thought it was for the right magna save.
No, I think the Hocus Pocus targets activate both magna saves. I could be wrong of course 😊...
Thanks mate
That's a stunner! I have a suggestion however, the flippers should be sitting a little bit lower, it makes the orbit shots much more achievable and in my opinion the game plays so much nicer and how it was intended. The bats should be resting against that little hole in the playfield (rubber off), currently it looks like they aligned them to the hole with the rubbers on which is a common mistake. Of course it's down to personal taste but i align all our games to the hole and think they play so much better if not a tiny bit harder to catch the ball. But it allows more ski passes and its how the designer intended for all the shots on the playfield
Glad you’re happy with it mate.
Poor form knocking me off number 1 hi-score spot on your first game though.
It’s quite clearly gone to the right man 👍
😂 Thanks mate, you're a pleasure to deal with. Good luck with Whitewater
Hot tip for tyr Theatre hurry up. Get your first two balls locked so multiball is ready and the magnet side of the trunk is facing you. Then complete Theatre and you only have to hit the trunk to claim it rather than the tight shot into the trunk
Thanks David mate
Sexy pin right there Mr gonzo!! I'm looking to find one next year been on my top 5 list for 3 years now
Thanks Jim mate . . . it's a great game.
Very nice. Congrats! BTW I just noticed date of manufacture is my bday.
Your TOM is beautiful, but gold plate always looks better
Be careful with the LED's. They GI lightshow fades with incandescent in mind. LED's do not dim the same way and the GI is not as effective. Other than that it is a stunning game.
Thanks Steve appreciate the advice
ToM is a very underrated pin. I still regret selling mine.
Not sure which rom you have in the game, but if you press and hold the left flipper button as you press the start, the first basement award will be ‘digital pinball’.
Thanks mate . . .I appreciate that
Noticed the last letter 'E' of THEATRE is not lighting up (in the middle of the playfield)
Sorted now, thanks mate
Great game for sure. My first favorite. Any idea why some people say the left ramp "breaks the game" or some such?
In all honesty I'm not exactly sure. I think maybe some top class players don't like the scoring on this game. But I just love the flow of it and I'm very happy.
The top of the trapdoor is always wobbly, It's just for show and not really part of the mech underneath. Its a nightmare to dial in.
What a stunning example.
Is that invisiglaas you've got on there?
Thanks Lozza.
I took the glass off to film so as everyone can get a good look at it. It does have invisiglass I think. I'm hopefully getting a few sheets from Germany soon anyway.
@@GonzosPinballFlipperamaAh couldn't tell.if you had the glass on or off. Didn't sound ridiculously loud hence thought you had glass on.
I think you live close by? May be interested if any "spare" sheets going.
I live in Sandhurst Lozza, contact me on FB or via the forum mate.
It's actually the same glass used in Lebowski. I'm actually hoping to get them sent to pinball heaven so as people can buy them.
It’s just better than foo fightet
I almost traded my theatre of magic for a Toy Story today.
Almost? I have had Toy Story here, it's not a bad game and I like the jump. The ball does spend a lot of time in the pops though.
Beautiful work but generic flippers ? Cmon
I love TOM but it’s definitely a downgrade from Foo Fighters
beautiful but boring. you'll beat theatre in a day and be ready to move it on.
