  • Episode #11: For The Culture Guyana: The Legend You Never Knew: Eusi Kwayana
Did you know that one man had a hand in creating three major political parties in Guyana? Not only did he contribute to the pre- and post-Independence political history of Guyana, but he also sparked a cultural revolution that sent shockwaves through the nation. That man is Eusi Kwayana. At 97 years old Eusi Kwayana is undeniably a living piece of Guyanese history. In this episode of For The Culture Guyana we will learn more about the legend you never knew: Poet, Writer, Statesman, and Cultural Activist, Mr. Eusi Kwayana.

Thank you immense, your discourse about Eusi Kwayana provided a linked up about Guyanese post grads at Aberdeen University in Scotland, in essence with Walter Rodney's "The Grounding with my Brothers" . A master piece of pamphlet.
Thank you for bringing his contribution to Guyana's political development.

Well done! Proud Buxtonian here. Br Eusi is indeed a living legend. You should try to get him on tape for the culture. See what I did there. Keep up the good work.

I am a Canadian born in Guyana. I have ties. There are many people so strong in their stand of African or Indian heritage they have lost the tie between them that is left is Guyana. You are all orphans of the British that gave you the opportunity to be something new! The Nation of Guyana and the One people of Guyana. All the government's and changes and love and hatred makes a bond that should make you strong. The stories I see are incredible and I think your Railway was built before Canada's was.

You had asked for feed back so what stands out for me were the songs' names EE wrote for the PPP, PNC, & WPA- "Oh Fighting Men", "Battle Song" & "People Power", respectively. Of note is the PNC's theme song & the date of May 26, it selected as Independence Day. Do some research to find out what happened on May 25/26 1964 in Guyana.
