Just in case anyone takes this video as a suggestion to park at the GAA grounds, when I first visited, I was told by a very polite guy from the GAA club that they don't want MTBers parking there, particularly when there are GAA events on. This was before a lot of the trails were open and MTBers were already causing a noticeable problem with space for GAA patrons, so I suspect it's worse now. The access through the GAA club is to facilitate people staying in or around Kinnitty as well as locals getting access to trails. To get to the official car park, continue out of Kinnitty itself and go into the Kinnitty Castle Hotel. Just before the hotel itself there's a gravel road to the right that goes to the official MTB parking area. You can see the car park on the left and the turn off to get to it at 0:42 in the video. The other benefit is hot food and drink at the Dungeon Cafe in the hotel afterwards 🙂.
I've been told the Castle Hotel is not an official car park and you are actually meant to park in the village which I find fairly dangerous to travel the road as mtbers don't usually have lights so something needs to be sorted out fast.
@@SingleTracker Maybe before it opened, Coilte hadn't agreed with Kinnity about parking, but now the carpark in Kinnity (on the right hand side of the castle carpark) has a sign saying car park for the mtb trails. Coilte should really update their page for the trails with this info
@@renniks1975 really? The last time I was there the sign had gone and speaking to people by email. The official trail head is in the village and that's where your supposed to park. Hence my video starting and ending on the road instead of the Gaa. But I couldn't be arsed actually riding that stretch of road 😁
@@SingleTracker Yep - I was there on Saturday with my brother, and the high carpark (maybe an old overflow carpark for coaches?) has MTB Trail Car Park signs on each of the gate posts. It is totally separated from the Castle's carparks
Enjoyed that preview, thanks. Hoping to get up there before the end of the year 🤞 apulia glue mind me along what you use to overlay the speed/elevation/etc on your videos? Vertu very helpful 😊

Great video. The red route to the left is it alot more advanced than the blue in this video
It is more advanced with a lot more rock gardens but it's doable for anyone other than total beginners
Was up there twice in the past few days some craic
do the new blue loop in kinnity its very easy and fun
Will do
