    Thank You for this video I have the SC13e and I've been frustrated not being able to replace the shims on my own to adjust for better playability, Just placed the order for the kit with Martin.

      They have a really well done video that walks you through all procedures. You have to scan a code that can be found in the kit. Glad you are listening in😃

    Thanks! I have the SC-10E, same design, less expense. I'm having the same issue and having a guitar tech adjust the action via the truss rod didn't help. So I decided to buy the tall bridge and a truss rod tool from Martin. Sounds like I'm on the right path. Glad I came across your video!

      I purchased the align kit and found the access to the instruction video helped immensely. I ended up not needing to change the neck wedge afier I got the saddle height and neck relief set to factory specs. It plays beautifully now. Wish you the best. Thanks❤️

      @@tahoeclimber yes. The store I bought it from adjusted the action. I suspected they may have shaved it. Once I got the height to spec when I adjusted the truss rod it all went into place. Glad I tried that first. 😀

      @@tahoeclimber yes I did. I think it was adjusted by the store I purchased it from. So I bought a new one and adjusted it to the factory specs for saddle height. It worked because the guitar plays really nice now😀

    Thank you so much for this! I live in the Houston area where the humidity is constantly changing and almost every one of my guitars gets a rattle in either the B or G string. Got the SC-13 for this past Christmas and it started getting that old familiar rattle in March. I hope this will help solve the problem, (at least temporarily). This is the first video I've seen for adjustments on this guitar. Again, thanks.

    Love watching you all the time! Is there a way to take lessons from you or talk to you? Watched you with the Guild D260 E but I am left handed. Is it possible to convert it from right to left? Thanks! ❤

    • @guitarnotions
      @guitarnotions  4 місяці тому

      Thank you, converting a guitar from right to left is probably more expensive then one would expect. For instance if you look at the bridge you will notice the slot for the saddle is cut at an angle this would need to be reversed ( so you need anew bridge and saddle. The nut will have to be remade. You can just change the string in reverse. 😀 Its much easier to buy a left handed guitar Thank you for listening ❤️

      Hello, so glad you are enjoying my channel. It gives me an opportunity to meet kind people like you. I have not been offering lessons online or in Person. I do have a couple of young students I meet with to help them out -but that's all. I have been working on this channel for 2 months Now and am trying to stay safe by maintaining a more neutral identity. For now I am not offering personal guitar sessions. I hope that makes sense. If there is a topic or something you would like to hear more about let me know. I think I am going to plan a live session and see if there is any interest. That way we could interact live and chat. Thanks for asking and for the confidence boost. It's greatly appreciated ❤️

    Merci beaucoup pour toutes ces informations ! Mon action était trop haute sur ma SC13-E et pas moyen de trouver les cales ici, en France. J'ai réglé à l'ancienne ; limer le sillet de chevalet de 1mm. Elle est bien réglée à présent. Je viens de contacter Martin France : ils peuvent fournir à présent les cales. Mais : 304 euros et 2 mois de délai de livraison ! 😢

    • @franc3699
      @franc3699 4 місяці тому

      Yes, it’s crazy! Already 150 euros, like you, I find that it's expensive for a kit with a few Martin-branded tools and for a few shims... But 300 euros 😱 I think that each person who takes it in their hands, to deliver it to France , puts a few euros in pocket! It is not possible otherwise ! At this price, it’s dissuasive! Too bad... In any case: thank you for your channel! I love your style! 😊 Hello from a French guy from Alsace!!! 😁

      Go to the Martin website and search for “SC Service Kit For Sure Align Neck” beware its pricy. I did use my kit and the gauges work with other guitars too. I really like having access to the how-to video on the neck setup. Thanks. 😀

      @@guitarnotions when I bought it I wasn't happy with the action and took it to a Martin certified luthier who never saw one before. He adjusted the bridge as many would. So now I suspect I am having the same issue you are.
      In addition the dealer I purchased from included a one year service warranty and they treated it like any other guitar...no one had any idea.
      Love the guitar, but salesperson did not say a seperate kit was required for common maintenance. I'm honestly not pleased about this piece.
      Moving forward I happened to find something on Reverb and ordered it. However I suspect I will be ordering a new bridge as well. Fingers crossed.

      @@guitarjourney7761 there definitely is a fine balance on the SC guitars. Having someone that knows how is key! I was very happy withe tutorial on the video but its not a video available to the public unless the kit is purchased. At least that is what I perceived when I searched for a solution. I love the action on mine now. And no buzz. 😀

      I gotmthe lit yesterday. Made standard adjustments today, but not a wedge replacement yet.
      I reviewed all the material however I am wondering if it is possible to simply loosen the strings. Then loosen the bolts to create some play and replace the wedge without full fretboard removal.
      Were you able to do this?

    • @guitarnotions
      @guitarnotions  Місяць тому +1

      I did not change out the wedge. Once I got the relief right it all fell into place perfectly. Did you watch the video that is in the kit. Just scan it with your phone and it should come up. I think your question about not completely removing the neck is address. I remember somewhere it said it was not necessary to completely remove the neck. But I cannot remember the source. I think it’s best to follow the manufacturer instructions.
