RIP Joe, loved you madly. Joe was one of the most accomplished musicians I have ever seen, yet always took the back seat. I was fortunate enough to have Gypsy Lacey Play in my home, shortly before my wife died. I might post some clips of that memorable evening.

I used to go and see them many years ago...in the early 1980s, in the Wexford Inn in Dublin. I feel in love there, asked out a beautiful girl from the northside of Dublin and married her...some of the original band members have since passed away...but myself, my friends and many other people had many great nights listening to Frankie, Joe, Ned and Brendan,. Old school.
I was snowed in at Stansted for 15 hours some years ago. These fellas set up and played for hours in the departure hall to ease the strain and entertain. The airport sent regular contributions to the band from the Guinness keg...Wonderful Irish hospitality!
First heard this group in October 2000. For traditional Irish music, they are the best.
Hi there, they are mates of mine. Christy (on accordian) left the group in early 2009, and Joe (on Bass far right) died of cancer earlier this year. They were fantastic musicians. I have known them since 2001, when I arrived in Dublin. Christy remains a very close friend.
Alas poor Joe passed away last year, God rest him. He was a brilliant man,with a brilliant sense of humor, and he will be misted by all that new him. RIP MATE
March 9th 2012 we had a fantastic evening listning to Gipsey Lacey and Tony. Greetings from the two girls from Sweden.

Great night out in the Arlington hotel in Dubbo, seen them on last night in Eire, and it was fun. Just like the Dubliners! But not quite!!!!
