too sad they don´t sell just the hull without motor. the jet pump needs a better impeller and another motor. this thing could be much faster

I've had my pull start off from the get-go. Interesting that the RPMs actually go up with it on though. Still, the difference seems to be what 30 RPMs? Not really even consistent either. Seems like leave it on her take it off, really doesn't make a lot of difference,
The muffler on the other hand does seem to make a more significant difference. Not sure what 100 RPMs does in terms of speed? Admittedly, chasing every ounce of performance out of the thing and you quickly reach a point of diminishing returns.
I'm still surprised re-jetting the carb doesn't seem to help. Just wondering if the combination of re-jetting with the pull start removed would be the magic combo? Still need to balance out air fuel ratio.
I'm just thinking about stage I upgrades to go-carts, and this is usually the magic combo, larger bore/larger jet carb, with increased airflow through the header/muffler.

The plug read fine for mixture and heat range, and opening exhaust actually richens the mixture so with these engines tuned lean for emission compliance I don't think rejetting would make much difference. The plug says there's no reason to bother. The difference with the pull start is heat.... lower head temps and consistent rpms throughout the entire trip are reason enough for me to just leave it off. I want engine longevity, I'm not racing anyone else, so there's no reason to choke the cooling system for 60 rpm. When I got the boat I was getting just over 24 mph. With grate change that went to 25 mph. Then when I added my muffler things got really good and I held 26 mph and hit 27 a few times.

Understand Tom I trust your judgment. I'm mostly going by what I've read about other engines and how they respond. It's theory versus real-world though. Coaxing a couple extra miles per hour is pretty substantial. I was in the 21 to 22 range at 208 lbs. So if I can get up in there in the 23 to 24 range, that would be fantastic!
And compared to two years of less than 10 miles an hour because I could not get the boat on plane, well... A lot has changed. Summer of 2022 should be the best ever with this boat.
