Just much less about top end power and silly speed, which had got me in the deep shit with the law. My logic did work, the judge appreciated the move to a slower and less powerful bike. I represented myself in court 😁🤣 and rocked it. The Aprilia was only a wee bit less powerful and a few mph slower. But it stood up in court that I had made a sensible downgrade 😎🤭🤫. He ended up getting a couple of years in prison for whatever trumped up charges the solicitors came up with., not sure if it was manslaughter, but something along those lines
Haha I know the feeling. My brand new Sportster was cutting off because of the side stand censor. 8 times on my first ride 😅
Delivered some of the first S1's in the UK.... Sold fast back then....
Love this , and loved your take on all your work on your channel, the bike is absolutely amazing, thank you for always giving us something unexpected your the best 👌....lee
Thank you for appreciating, Lee. 🙏🏻
Very ,very impressive bike , reminds me of my Hypermotard.
Beautiful sound
It sure is!
I wonder what the max horsepower can be extracted from the Sportster based Buell. Always fancied one but not sure how it is for tall people.
Swingarm is X1 lightning.
I live not to far from East Troy Wisconsin where they were built, Iam on the list to get the new Buell super cruiser, now they are going to be made in Grand Rapids Michigan one state away, a Roland Sands design 👍and I Believe at the same time Harley got rid of MV Agusta
The only time I ever rode to a HD dealer with a real intention to buy, was for a Buel. I wanted a XB12R Firebolt badly. Discontinued the previous year, I was only ever gonna get a 2nd hand one and there weren't fucking any anywhere. Ended up buying an Aprilia RSV Mille instead. So I came sooo bloody close to being a Buel/HD guy 😎. Try and find a Firebolt for a video Deimantė, that was their finest creation.
I’ll try! You’re full of surprises Tony Keast 😅
@@tomboyabit yeah it was a surprise to me too! I'd been caught horrendously speeding on my fireblade and was waiting to go to court for my crimes 😑. Couldn't trust myself on a superbike before the trial and knew it would strengthen my case if I bought a slower bike. I liked the radical XB12R design and the chassis and handling was epic. No jail for me and I even negotiated myself out of a ban too! Mad story. I'll need to tell you it next time yer up. 🤘
Wow
C'mon tell me did you rev it in the tunnel near Franks ? :)
🤫 It wasn’t me
hahaha it has to be done it's in the biker rule book 😝@@tomboyabit
Is there a video anywhere pov of somebody actually riding this thing Rather than putting around town? Be nice to see what this bike capable of . Some full throttle pulls would be nice zero to sixty, etc
Be nice to ride it like this. Not on the wet roads on the borrowed bike for sale from the dealer. ☹️ Maybe one day I’ll have a better opportunity.
@@tomboyabit I have the hammer1275 build in my 03 sportster and it gets a little sketch under full throttle with front tire wanting to lift. I'm wondering if you can even full throttle this Buell without wheelies😁
@@nbowling10trio That bike was mental. Probably the most exciting Harley VTwin I ever road in my life. I have no doubt it would be hard to keep the front wheel down when opening up a throttle.
I have a very similar bike.I really doubt the 130 BHP claim and I dont think it walking backwards on the sidestand is a selling point.Mine does the same. The saddle is OK its made by Corbin.Mine has a better rear shock, that one looks original.A nice bike with great character.
This Bike is super trick; it's nothing like a Stock Buell Sportster.
Wasn't this up for sale for 12k?
Less then 10k at Franks 🤔
@@tomboyabit must have lowered the price. Pretty sure it was up for 12. Still too much personally as I wouldn't mind one
Estimated 130 BHP running a belt. Says a lot about a belt final drive.
I have a 160hp turbo vrod that's had the same belt on it last 10 years. The Kevlar belts are great.
@@fvgc454ss yes, and probably little to no maintenance.
@@UnapologeticAhole yup
The back end is off an X1 or M2 not off a White Lightning.
Love them but you can’t get the parts unfortunately.
Nice bike, i got a 1998 S1 also upgraded and way to much money spent on it. I also got PM wheels, X1 swingarm, Millenium 1250 cylinders with Buell XB stage 3 ported heads, flywheel weight reduced and more aggressive cam profile, Baker 6 speed and many more details i fabricated myself. It runs like a raped monkey. I do have an issue now with leaking seal between engine oil and gearbox, after winter on the side stand it looks engine oil is leaking into the gearbox, have to sort this out before summer.
I also have a lot of spares like buddy seat, manta ray tank, technoflex push suspension and RAM single side swingarm custom produced for Buell tubers. Great bikes.
You’re right, this what H-D should have built as their “new” Sportster. Now, go ahead and “mortgage the farm” and buy it 🤪! You know you’ll always regret letting it get away 😉.
I already tried to sell a kidney for a Supersport. Apparently it’s not legal. No farm to mortgage ☹️
My S1 is pretty fast with a 1250 kit. Can't imagine what this must be like.
It's a MT01 essentially... But less advanced
Sportster 883. About 55 hp and 270 kgs. Buell 100+hp and 195 kg. That's all😊
nothing custom bout this bike, but go off

Sorry mate, but you don’t know what you’re talking about X1 swinging arm it’s not a white lightning swinging arm 😢
Tuber.
Not remembering the guys name is a no no no no no. 😢 Open it up ….. man. 30-40 mph?????
I mixed it up. Jon and Jim

18k modding a bike. Ouch
Hope his wife will never find this video 😂
It's spelt Lightning as in lightning strikes. Not lightening which means losing weight 🙄
It’s my spelling mistake unfortunately.
Wet road. Too bad…
Xi swing arm not white lightning. 130 bhp!!! Put it on the dyno before you make such outragous claims.
Lol sounds like a Harley. Not, in Arizona in the US, open pipes are allowed in most places. 90% of Harleys are open pipes.
The bike you are riding is way to quiet. Does not sound like a Harley!
Sounds like you have to many laws over there!
It’s true. We have too many laws.
THIS is one I cannot miss…. But have to put away till tomorrow… wait for the party tell then,
# beautiful country road ride. amazing you got so excited about it. 🏁🏞️
