this is interesting, I didnt know richard hammond was pro american muscle lol nor did i know he was doing reviews back in 1997... I would absolutely love to see him do a review on the xb12r models???
This was done well after '97. In fact it was done after the S1 was out of production what with an XB headlight setup and all the aftermarket goodies on this particular one he is riding. Hammond is a Buell fan for sure though, there was a recent photo of him on an EBR 1190RS
Dang, he explained exactly how I felt about the purchase of my ol' Buell S1! Wish I hadn't sold it. Looked at Duc and Triumph, but opted for the S1 (well, back in '96).
@ indeed, the air filter is also a piece of crap. Still, the video is decades old at this point - maybe someone’s had the good sense since to restore the bike to its original good looks.
Was not expecting Richard Hammond when I started looking for reviews on this bike!😂

Ein wirklich guter Bericht. Alles was dort gesagt wird kann ich voll bestätigen. Ich werde meine Buell wohl immer lieben.
Ohhhh .... I'm commenting before watching this! I used to own a '96 S1 Buell. So I am interested in his review! I'll comment when he is done!

@@takeoutjohnny5694 those s1 Buells are bad ass lookin bikes. I'd like to find a clean one. Currently have a 2000x1 2009 xb12s and 2015 ebr1190sx.
Awesome Richard Hammond
Shame about the headlights and flyscreen. Looks much better with the stock setup.
Yes. Definitely looks better stock. The twin headlights look tacky. Not a fan of the Hypercharger air filter either.

Great review
LOL Richard Hammond the most British American guy in the world
Hey it's Hamster. Cool.
Buell Best
Take off that lame hypercharger. It's embarrassing to other Buellers.
ryanhayn why?
Because it's just an air filter disguised as a supercharger.
ryanhayn
I think they look cool, especially with the butterflies flapping open and shut. It's for show, like a lot of bike add ons.
Its not a supercherger.. Its not a mechanical air pump.. Its simply an over priced failed attempt at ram air. Regardless an atrocity on any motor/bike
Then again, if this was from 97, that Hypercharger was badass of that yesteryear..
HAMSTER !!!
ce n'est pas un buell x1 mais un s1.... --'
Hamster!
Belt is too tight.
A low centre of gravity?like gamma Collins on a stepladder
