I had been trying for years to get a Pileated Woodpecker to come to my feeders. I put out Good quality birdseed, Different kinds of suet cakes, and sunflower seeds. He would never come in. Then on the last week just before we moved to our new house my daughter got a picture of him on one of my suet cakes.

They sound like a jungle bird and are almost equal to an axe hitting a tree. Lol. They get so big and beautiful just love their presence in the woods!!! I made peanut butter balls as well as peanut butter and chocolate fudge with my mom. We cheated though and used a mixer and almond bark. Great memories. Now it is my daughter, my wife and I making new memories. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
