- There is something in oranges and wild mustard that makes me feel that spring began. Maybe is the smell in the air, or the bright yellow and orange colors! What do you connect the beginning of spring with?
The orange tree never misses from the Cypriot garden. That's why a lot of Cypriot food include oranges or orange juice.
Also, cultivating orange fields is very common here due to climate. So people learned how to preserve the oranges for later use in the year!
Every year I prepare orange jam and orange squash to preserve the fruit for later use. The orange squash is definitely a treat during hot Cypriot summer!
The orange biscuits were a special request from the kids and the chicken orange completed the dinner table.
This time I’ve also tried a special recipe with field mustard, onions and orange juice. It turned to be super delicious!!

Oh brilliant blue heavens, that looks delicious! I'll have to try this sometime. I do something a little different, I squirt mustard in a cup, peel an orange, dip the orange slices in and enjoy.
That sounds interesting! But in this video is wild mustard.. Not the sauce. 🌞
@@JoyofOrigins Oh! Thank you for the information. I assumed that wild mustard was the primary ingredient in the yellow sauce and that it'd have a similar flavor.
I went to Cyprus recently and noticed in Nicosia all the orange and lemon trees. They add nice colour to the grey concrete. Very nice video.

Για πόσο καιρό βάζεις τις λαψάνες να μουλιάσουν?
Σκέφτεστε να γράψετε κάνενα βιβλίο συνταγών?
Γειά σας. Μπορείτε να αφήσετε να μουλιάσουν για περίπου 30 λεπτά. Θα μπορούσατε επίσης να τις βράσετε και απευθείας και να παρακάμψετε το μούλιασμα. Εγώ το έκανα για καλύτερη αποστείρωση. ☺️ Βιβλίο συνταγών ίσως στο μέλλον. Αλλά έρχεται σύντομα ιστοσελίδα με τις συνταγές ☺️
