I’ve never hung a radiator on a wall before.
I was very apprehensive about opening up my central heating system.
Couldn’t have done it before watching this excellent video.
Successfully installed new radiator, fitted new lock shield and TRV.
Radiator is now toasty hot, unlike the old one that had cold spots all over.
Thanks for giving me the confidence to take it on.
Love the videos👍
When you drilling the holes for the brackets would it not make more sense to drill the holes where the brackets are adjustable before drilling the upper and lower holes to allow for any adjustments? Thanks for the video 🙏🏼
Got to say thanks as I’ve just hung my first rad and it went without a hitch thanks to u and all your videos. 600x1800 type 22 with a thermostatic trv and a drainvalve.
Last part of job required a 13mm Allen key which I didn’t have til tomorrow that is, inhibitor and fill up job done. Here’s hoping for no leaks or it’s ekkkk
Cheers for ur videos
OOH MY GOD. Generally never comment on anything, but you've just helped me hang a radiator and want to express my thanks. THANKS.
No worries Dave!
David Harrison i second ur comment...thanks a lot for the vid
Just moved and plumbed in a double radiator in my daughters bedroom. I found the measuring up bit very useful. Thanks for the videos. p mcc
Thanks for this video, easy to follow plain instructions. I'm so proud of myself!!! Perfectly hung radiator, perfectly straight with the help of your video. This bloomin radiator has been sat in conservatory for 3 years, falling on me at every opportunity.... Huge heavy double skinned radiator hung by little me. Next step is to plumb it in - Im onto your next video. BRILLIANT HELP AND COULDNT HAVE BEEN EASIER TO FOLLOW! thank you!
I enjoy plumbing and I enjoy your videos. I am a believer in your techniques. I am a science teacher by trade and I find your explanations to be clear and fun to follow! I have a dog (similar to yours) that wants to assist me on every project!
Thank you so much for this video mate, just hung my first rad following ur video. Proud moment for me lol
Top video as always, can't believe owners wouldn't spend £20 on new one!
What a fantastic video, explained exactly how to install a radiator, every other video just confused me, thanks
Excellent, saved me big time after forgetting to leave radiator brackets on when having walls plastered. Top video, clear instructions and saved me a few quid. Cheers
+Stuart Gilchrist No worries Stuart, glad to help!
Your videos are so good and clear to understand, I fitted a small radiator today at my traning course, and used this technique, the spirit level bubble sat in the middle and my radiator was straight like 9:15!
Because of this video I was able to hang a radiator in my spare bedroom. Appreciate the video.
I'm an apprentice and this has helped loads
PP you are truly nuts, but brilliant. When are you doing the piping video as I have exactly this task to do?
Well done and keep up the great work, robin
Many thanks for the video I have fitted 3 radiators following your advice and they are spot on.
Only question I have is I had to remove 2 radiators of the wall to plaster the walls and now have to fit them back on including the brackets how would I go about fixing the brackets and lining them up properly again
Thats a really good video. It's given me the confidence to hang my own. Surprised they didn't want to replace the old one because it's rusty and paint flaking off.
Thanks for the video, I'm crap at DIY and you nailed this for me
Keep up the good work
Brilliant, that you for that.....metal plugs for plasterboard....Great advice.
Your a top bloke who makes top videos with top tips........TOP MAN!!!!
+BeeTv Cheers!
James - who the man - you the man.
Very clear instruction. Gorgeous dog too. Often wondered whether the radiator needs to be slightly off level to get air to collect near the bleed valve or doesn't it matter?
+Neil Stoddart Doesn't matter and would look awful on the slope!

Many thanks for posting, helps a lot.
Perfect video! Couldn't say it simpler myself! Cheers fella!
Very useful and helpful...following this video i have succesfullly hanged my first double radiator. Thanks alot for this video...
Great video, thank you...how do you troubleshoot hanging radiators on wonky old stone walls so that the radiator is straight and not tipping in towards the wonky wall?? Thank you :)
Thanks for this, went like a dream! I can't post a picture but the bubble in the spirit level was bang in the middle, well chuffed 😁👍
What heights do you hang your radiators from the skirting, upstairs and down? Great vids pal
Step by step instructions so simple to follow THANKS
That tight customer didn"t pay him for this first part ! lol
Great explanation
Keep on sharing useful tips about plumbing. Thanks for the video!
Your plumbing tutorials are brilliant..really helping me get back into learning the trade again..stay safe!!!💫
Love the humour!
I fitted a radiator last week, and it wasn't level. Removed it and measured again - wall brackets perfectly level. Replaced radiator - tilted. The brackets on the back of the radiator were at different heights - about 15mm difference. How is this possible??
Fabulous simple method, Thanks
I would learn so much being this guys apprentice
Really like you. You seem like a really cool guy. Hope your business flourishes
Brilliant and thanks, just hung my first Radiator it’s spot on 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 and saved me from paying for a Plumer 😁
What about checking where the electrics went from that power socket before picking up the drill?
as always, informative and entertaining, I love this channel. just the information I needed mate, nice one.
+scott bacon Cheers Scotty, no worries mate!
Nice one . Wicked video .
One question .
My radiator that I have installed is not heating up . Could it be that a. It needs further bleeding or b. I have left the original brand new radiator cap as metal one broke .. oh dear .
Could this plastic original cap be preventing circulation ..
Thank you so much just fitted a new radiator and it’s perfect thanks to your great video
can you do a vid on presser testing a new instal with a pump please
That's a funky spirit dude! Makes an noise an everyffin'!
1:12 where did you get a pencil that sounds like that? :P
Its a theremin pencil, beeeeowwwwwwwwww! James, can you play the Dr Who theme on it?
Al Green 2:16 must have come in a toolkit along with the tape measure
what's wrong with the extra clearance? seems like it would make it easier to keep wires from touching the rad. looks neater too
Right, I'm good to go! 6 rads here I come.......
Thanks dude, good job :)
Good luck!
thank you for posting .

Hi how you doing can you put up the link on how to pipe up the radiator couldn't find the next video thank you very much.
Drop cloth for the rad, _spits out coffee._ Was that to keep the floor clean? 😐
Do I have to fill up vent heating system after radiator replacement?
I've scrapped better rads. Amazes me how some customers won't shell out a few extra quid and have the job done properly. As for the plug under the rad - says it all really. Once again, very helpful video.
Twobins You're telling me!
Yup, A gorgeous new one would cost about £40!! It would also put out more heat and be more efficient!!
Some people are so dumb!! (and cheap)
Labour to remove repipe and fit new radiator and re skim wall then put the old shagged rad back on 😂😂
always always watch your vedios ,i am doing level 2 plumbing, one day i like be like you
Great easy to follow video thx
Is it bettter not marking and drilling the pin holes until you know it is level
How Does the first step (measuring the wall and finding middle) work if you are hanging a rad on existing pipe work ? Where would you suggest measuring to and from e.g middle of valves etc . Great Video!!
Also how do you determine how high you want the radiator when hanging on existing pipe work ?
Do spacing for stud work usally correspond with brackets on raditors, hope you know what i mean, rather drill into stud work
Can you show the one with piping because I couldn't find.
These videos are really helping me in my course
You posted this 2 years ago did you pass your tests???
@@fb079 already enrolled onto gas safe course. Shall i say more
What lens were you using, was it a fish-eye?
this is brilliant, your so funny and i love your little pup, mine does the same thing with her sticks and toys too. Thank you so much for posting this, i need to put my radiators back on the wall and i didn't realize it was as simple as this
I have refit a radiator where the walls have been replastered and the original bracket holes have been lost. The pipe work cannot be moved. Any tips?
Take the opportunity to learn pipework!
Perfect!!!!👊
Great video, thanks for sharing
are you doing how to plumb the rad video
Where are you based mate?
Where is the vid on piping the rad?
good job
thanks
F#*king life saver & brilliant indepth video thank you🎉 need this for my first home that we are renovating right now ❤
It's a shame most if not all videos on UA-cam about hanging rads finish off with how to set the radiator up once it has been installed ie does the shield lock stay open and the other valve is how to control the heat output I don't know???
thank you very much for your video. helped me to hang one just now. next is how to connect it to the system
No worries Cosmin! Glad to help you out. i've done loads more videos on radiators so just check out my channel! CHEERS!
Why would someone dislike the vid??
why wouldnt they just opt for a new rad that ones mingin
£££
has to be a minimum of a 100mm gap from bottom of rad to floor
Thanks brilliant vid away to hang my radiator
Frugal , very diplomatic 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Top video as always, but Who the hell skimmed that wall 😲
Don’t forget to check for elec cables...😁
wheres the video to pipe up the radiator?
great vid. im sure the owner has asked you for a new rad as that one is s*** so win win. more moneyz!
+James Baillie Funnily enough they've sold the house!
Lol
To high kidda, should have told them to get a 450mm rad,but hey thats only my oppinion onlly been in the trade for 31 years now but what would i know

He used to be so posh what happened?
Still high even taking into account the socket, could have lowered it..
nice vidoes, my dog would be a much better plumber tho he can open doors and windows so at least he knows how to run away if anything goes wrong!
Worst plastering I've ever seen!
Should of had it moved... wth they SHOULD have had the wall painted before the rad went up lol
Worst plastering I've ever seen and the radiator wants skipping
Why even keep it
Top man hola HAHAHAHAHAH
For sake of 50 quid who would want to keep that old radiator 😂😂
Plastering looks shite. Top job on radiator though. 👍
Yeah don't know who did that! SUBSCRIBE! ➡️👉 ua-cam.com/users/plumberparts 👈⬅️ IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY! 😎
looks alright considering it had to be so high, scumbag customers the hell they want that socket there for, they shudda had it moved before the wall was skimmed, what they gunna plug in there? the fkn washing machine? =\
Yeah, fookin customers, they only pay your fookin wages innit! We'll just do it ourselves and do a better job.
when a man becomes a boy? lol
He made mistake, you don't level radiator, the end with exhaust vent need to be on the highest point, so that side of the radiator must be some milimeters higher to allow air to get out from the radiator.
I personally would prefer to have mine perfectly level! What you said might actually make sense, but I would still prefer to have them level than wonky!
LycansInc u on the crack pipe ?
No, he is not, he is right.
Actually this is wat i learned on school too. But i and eveyone that im knowing are mounting radiators level and never had any problems.
Why wouldn’t you change that manky rusty radiator while it’s off. New more efficient one same size is like £50. Nice clean wall ruined. They aren’t even worth painting anymore they so cheap
