- This is an installation of the factory kit to upgrade the power mirrors to auto folding mirrors.
This is not an easy DIY so some wiring experience required. De-pinning the connectors is quite tricky.

Thanks a lot mate. I've done the same to my Mazda Demio and now I have the auto folding mirrors. The worst part was the depinning process.
You did well - those pins are a pain. It's a neat upgrade 👍
Great video, this was done to my 2014 mazda 3 a couple of years ago, but I have to double press the keyfob for the mirrors to fold and its the only way to lock my drivers door.
Thanks, it's a great upgrade all the same. Hopefully you get to save your mirrors from being damaged when parked. The prices of mirror assemblies can be ridiculous.
Hi, I've just done this upgrade to my Mazda 6; really useful video, thanks! It all works well with exception of the walk away locking. It beeps twice, but doesn't lock or flash the indicators on the second beep. I guess this loom doesn't support it? I haven't found anything on it one way or another.
I know people don't rate it, but it works fine when I'm on my own and I've got used to it.

The hardest part is getting those pins out of the multiplugs. Be patient 😊
@@Automotive_Solutions OK thanx for that.... ill maybe take your approach with something thin from the back of the plug.
Any further tips on getting the pins out....im struggling.... looking at the pins of the new loom I cannot figure out what im trying to release in order to remove them.
@@gtmken - it was the same for me. Even when I thought I was pressing the right bit they never seemed to release. Just got lucky and frustrated in the end. Can't really describe it for you.

These might cause problems in cold weather, as i already tryed to get my mirrors frosen tight in the folded position. Dont fold mirrors in very cold weather, they risk getting stock in folded position.

Great video, I need assistance please. Someone hit the autofold mirror on my 2017 Mazda 2. The problem is that I can only source a manual folding mirror for replacement. So I would like to know if it's a straight swap and if the manual folding mirror will work as it should on a car that is eqquiped with auto mirrors without any errors? 🙏
I can't really answer that one other than to say it would be best to get the correct mirror. The wiring connection may be different. I doubt you'd have errors but it may affect the operation of the other mirror/central locking.
My drivers side do not fold coz someone hit it & ran away. I have tried to put wd 40 with no joy. I wonder if you have any remedy. Thank you for sharing a job well done 👍
That's a pain. Hard to say without seeing it but it's probably broken some of the mechanism ☹️ . New or secondhand mirror unit needed I would imagine.

Followed the instruction booklet, but I'm getting nothing from the adjust knob to move the mirrors around :(
The wing mirrors close and open as expected so that's one bonus, but any ideas what might be causing the mirror adjust knob to not work?
I know you've probably already done it but check and double check the wiring is in exactly the right pins on the connectors.

I also fitted this and I noticed something. After fitting this kit the driver window is not automatic anymore. Meaning I have to keep the button pressed to lower down the window or close it but all other windows are still automatic. Did you experience the same thing or is it just me? May be something I did or this model cx5 I have it’s like this?

You may need to reset the window if you unplugged it or took the battery off. Normally put window down and keep holding button down for a few seconds then hold button up while window closes and continue to hold button up for a few seconds. 😁

By the way is there a kit to do this for windows i mean they close when car locked or open using original fob. I found few things but they all said for left hand drive or not diesel
Great vid , I have a question I have an American version of the Mazda 3 2016 and it doesn’t come with the folding mirrors and I’ve been searching everywhere to find a kit but the thing is that idk if I need to buy the European mirrors or the kit comes with everything

They're a pig to de-pin, I know that much - I've ordered a de-pinning set and will have another crack when I've got more time!
Surely Mazda could have made the new loom plug and play or at least included a cheap de-pinning tool in the kit!

But they all boil down to inserting the appropriate pointy/flat/bevelled etc tool for the type of connector you've got...but if you don't know which one you've got then...

I don't know about that model. You'd have to ask the dealer and see if parts are available to upgrade to power folding mirrors.
