Honestly Code 8 was a movie I never expected a sequel to, as I thought it wrapped up all the plot points nicely, and didn’t need a sequel. But it was great getting one and being able to see more of the Code 8 world, I just wish we could have spent more time learning more about Pav, and maybe just have some scenes dedicated more to the characters then exposition. Like I wanted a moment between Pav and Connor where they discuss what they’ve lost, like Pav talking to Connor about her brother and Connor talking to Pav about his mother.

It made very little sense. I’m surprised it’s done so well. The good cop from the first movie (Sung Kang) seems to have become the bad Police Chief in Part II? This is never explained. It’s only implied by Connor that they’re the same person: “has your partner left you for greater heights?”
Mina’s introduced as a new character and somehow in the space of 15 minutes we’re supposed to care when she dies. She also somehow becomes a mother figure to Pav with no character development.
The plot spends too much time on insignificant scenes (10 minutes on a robot chase) and too little time on scenes that actually mean something (Connor choosing between running with Pav or starting up the old warhorse with Garrett.)
Acting was stale as a whole. Far less emotions from Robbie than before.
2/5 for a film I had such high hopes for.

I agree they didnt do some stuff right but id give it a 3/5 but the first one was 10 times better for sure.

The good cop (Officer Park) in part 1 is a completely different character & actor to the bad police chief (King) in part 2. It is subtly explained what happened to Officer Park, he tried to stand up to King but failed (probably killed or maybe just transferred due to the corrupt system) and that’s why he’s no longer on the scene.
I agree with the 2/5 rating though.. I yearned for more emotion & character development. Felt rushed.
