- Gateway, The Isle's brand new Island, has arrived, and it is going to be replacing Isla Spiro, perhaps one of the most poorly designed maps in The Isle's history. Good riddance! Also, the migration system is in the game, as well as some other funky changes.

I feel like the borders getting red instead of having a healthbar could be a cool option and work well, IF they made it work like the logout screen how it slowly encloses the entire screen.
Then it'd kinda simulate how you're likely to not see as well the closer you get to death. Not to mention it'd be more clear as to how hurt you are, if it's just barely lighting up the borders then you're hardly hurt, if your screen is completely red and you only see through a tiny hole, you're about to die. I'd honestly be all for it then, but I hate it how it is because it's still pretty hard to tell where you're at. Alot of times it seems like you're more hurt than you are at first, then you can be on the brink of death and still think you can take 1 more hit. Plus with the way the red border kinda moves around somewhat, it makes it difficult to tell what stage it is sometimes.
We had both systems in Legacy and it didn't cause any issues whatsoever

This really has to be one of the best video’s if watched. Just helpful this just gave me motivation to chance something about my life and do something else then looking behind a screen. And all this by a isle video of all things. Just keep up the amazing work

I wasn't expecting a 50 min long vid and I loved it, ngl it gave me some motivation. I really relate with struggling to start something but then actually continuing it. I literally wish I could touch grass rn but it just snowed! xD
I've heard lots of people complain about the isle being a 'sit in a bush simulator' but.. people need to realize that its also a game with no end goal where every action is something you CHOSE to do. you can wander the map as a baby and it'll be a much more exciting game, i promise you lol
that said, even if this was a video where 90% of the footage was just a bush ( jokes on you! i listen to youtube videos more than watch them so i was unpreturbed ;D ) still very entertaining! surprised i didnt sub to you before. weird that THIS of all videos is my introduction to this channel and it got me watching lots more lol

I love how at the beginning of the video, you spawned inside of a tree. Because when I played, I got killed by a canni, spawned back in, and was stuck in that same tree.
Idk how but the map changes the whole vibe of the game, it really feels like a struggle for survival, exploring and following where the food goes, on Spiro the game felt way too easy, but now it feels like actual survival
You can herd tenonto ai in to a wall where it gets stuck and then just spam bite it for easy food, carnivores can get ai food anywhere, goats now spawn in groups of up to 6, it is hardly a struggle for survival to grow a carni unless you get extremely unlucky

The additional AI is a massive downgrade IMO. Sucks that you can just survive off AI indefinitely, I liked it how large carnivores were forced to fight players or scavenge to survive once they got big enough. I wish the migration zone was just herbivore food, and carnivores would also go there to hunt player herbivores.
Carnivores should be forced to PvP to survive. Sad to see that it's going toward optional PvP where you can just survive off of AI Tenos instead. Like, this was an entire 50 minute video and it didn't have a single fight because there was no reason to. They just killed the garbage AI that stood there and let them do it lmao
@@mud074 both the AI system for carnivores AND the migration system for herbivores is utter garbage to be honest. At least 4 times as a juvie herbi trying to reach that tiny acre of land that i am allowed to eat, i have run in to cera+raptor mix packs camping the paths around the border of the migration zones. Slow juvie herbivores as well as omnivores are forced to go to artificially created hotspots where they can not run or hide when a faster predator sees them, food should be biome dependent, not be confined to a tiny acre of land at a time

Absolutely agree on that. I like the look of Gateway, but the migration mechanics that come with it seem really bad. Both because of bad gameplay, and because they are bad for immersion. It doesn't make sense that there are magical areas that spawn everything you need, biome-specific foods are much better.
@@somerandomperson6511 that hasn't happened to me I've starved 3 times as a Carno because players are actually distributed throughout the entire map, and it's giant, so it's kinda rare to run into actual game, but not too rare since there's like 120 people 💀

Little tip, keep fps capped at 60 whenever I had mine at anything higher it caused insane amounts of inconsistencies in the fps but whenever I capped it at 60 it just never moved from 60fps. I got a 7900XT and a 5800X and my fps still jumps at any fps cap over 60.

The argument for camera lock when eating is it ads a way to sneak up better on prey when hunting plus it makes it so that when someone is eating his dino is distracted

The DX12 message is still showing up after I've already updated my graphics card, this was over a few months ago when 6.5 first released and nothing had changed. Carno is still good, it can insta charge from just a few steps, a pretty good pay off for having a cool down and having to manage your stamina, we don't need a repeat of last few updates ago were Carno was unreasonably overpowering.

Good point about Disney vs Looney Toons back in the 40s. That's interesting. I agree for the most part. I will say that I was most engaged (Disney-wise) by cartoons that involved Chip'N'Dale or Pluto.
