I’m amazed at the positive comments for this point in the series. I thought this storyline was so forced. Blackie never laid a finger on her and went to prison for her murder over a song? That was cringy.
Agreed. One of the more cringy storylines. And couldn’t they have made Lou’s departure more believable? That fall against a chair or table isn’t credible.
@@cindys5426 that is hysterical! About as trim as a full grinder! I remember thinking we had it made when my father lived in a third floor apartment and had a phone cord long enough to stretch out the window down to the backyard. That was like an upgrade back then!
I've been wanting to see this episode. I can't believe that EVIL Steffie allowed Blackie to take the rap and go to prison for Lou's murder when she's clearly the one who pushed Lou to her death...what a MONSTER she is!
I swear they slaughtered General Hospital right and left in the mid 80's. Lesley and Lou were killed off, they got rid of Blackie, killed off Jake and Rose's love story, by 1985 Rose was gone as well and so was Rick Webber. What were the producers thinking? Were they bored with the beauty of the show? They slaughtered it!
briansky10 And I don't think I will make it much past this year. My first thought is, when Rick leaves the show, what happens to Mikey? I guess I will have to google it. The whole Webber Family will be gone. A lot has happened since December, Luke & Laura left and we have had many deaths. It is a sad time in Port Charles. No more Lesley, I am still very upset about her death, the emptiness I feel in the house. I expect her to walk up to someone at the desk in the hospital and start talking with them. 😢 1984 was a changing year for GH. George Orwell wrote about what others had hoped to achieve by "1984". We are there now. Big Brother has arrived.
This was the most heartbreaking story...it was the end of so many characters I love, namely Lou, Rose and Rose/Jake's relationship. This was a hard one to watch. I still feel the same feelings now as I watch that I did back then. Having said all that, EVERYONE did such a great job of acting out this story. Nothing over the top. Just solid performances. Particularly Loann Bishop, who I believe was nominated for an emmy for her performance.
@@tammyramey Thanks! I know it's kind of "wordy". It used to just be Trustin Christ, but I didn't want people to think I was using Christ as a lastname, so I changed it to make the original point! Glad you liked it!
The character portrayed by Bob Hastings, PCPD Captain Bert Ramsey, did not see many opportunities during his 7 years on the program for a true exploration of deeper emotions (and that includes the awful Mr. Big storyline in 1986, Guza-inspired without a doubt); but, this episode is one of those times where Captain Ramsey is allowed to express his clear concern and regard for the well-being of Blackie, and is one of my favorites.
I agree with everyone referring to Steffie as a monster...she was cold and so so self absorbed. Blackie just let stardom go to his head...that was his down fall and of course Steffie had a lot to do with it. Sad ending for Lou. :'(
Lou was quite the delicate flower dying from that little tap on the head. And Steffi and Blackie - enough with the confessions within hearing range of the chief of police.
Blackie has been in anger mode for so long.No Blackie ,no you didn't kill her....Bert why are you not hauling Steffie off to jail ??? Or for now we'll just call her B!+@# needs to be in jail not Blackie. Poor Lu and Rose.
Because Hellyweird is a very strange and twisted place...full of corrupt, immoral people who appear to detest decency and anything resembling “happily ever after”.
In light of the current happenings at GH and this clip I would like to say John Stamos is irreplaceable. . . also this Stephie character is a despicable human being.
L ellingw He is a nice person in real life also. I sat next to him at an Eagles Concert here in Las Vegas at the MGM. It was the coolest thing ever. After watching GH in the 80's and I was crazy about him, some 25 yrs later I find my self seated next to him. I couldn't breath for a minute. He was very personable.
If people sort of liked Steffie or the writers wanted to go in a different direction, they could have given her a sob background story or have her attacked, thus garnering sympathy and turning her into a heroine (Natalie, AMC; Gloria, AMC)
@@redsummergarden2600 As much as I love the show, and I don't know about medical accuracy, I can tell you as a hospital worker that the politics and management certainly don't seem realistic. The assumption that doctors have authority over other staff certainly wasn't accurate. And watching the nurse station be used as the Port Charles switchboard and answering service from 1982 to 1990 was even more unrealistic

Yes,I had a blue one like that,they actually called it a trimline.lol

@@marlenejuarez4402 Amy's the nurse. Steffi's the psycho.
Yes, Steffie reminds me here of Mariela, a horrible villainess from an old Telenovela "Las vias del Amor" (hope I spelled that right)

Don't disagree with you, but in 1986 the show did get really good. Secrets of Laurelton.... Asian quarter..... Bobbie and Jake....

Lelsey was killed off because of a contract dispute with the actress.

Heartbreaking performance. Blackie Parrish, I love you!

I really do believe that Blackie was at the point of falling in love with Lou when she died and his reaction didn't exactly help matters either! 😩💔
This episode aired on my 13th birthday :)
Happy 13th Birthday!
When this aired, it was my sixteenth birthday and attending drivers training. I never saw Blackie confess.

Because Hellyweird is a very strange and twisted place...full of corrupt, immoral people who appear to detest decency and anything resembling “happily ever after”.
I know the actress who played Rose wanted off. Blackie/John Stamos wanted off, and Lou's was storyline dictated due to Blackie's character leaving.
John Stamos left and almost immediately booked the sitcom You Again, with Jack Klugman. He left GH at precisely the right time, career wise.
In light of the current happenings at GH and this clip I would like to say John Stamos is irreplaceable. . . also this Stephie character is a despicable human being.

That was a small hit. Lou could'nt died from this hit yet. I think.
She must have been on Coumadin.
I couldn't believe it either, but then General Hospital wasn't noted for its medical accuracy.
GlamMetalGirl It seems to be a pattern on GH, many have died by being pushed down and hitting their head.
