That's the great thing about music! Since it really is basically a language, as long as you can learn it, you can do it like anybody else can. It doesn't matter where you live. Instruments unite people
He plays so good. I don't know where he has learned Guzheng, but I think he has very well illustrated the undescribable charm and spirit of chinese music in his playing. What I mean is the 气韵。
To add to video description: Title of piece: "Spring Comes to the Xiang River" 《春到湘江》 (Chun Dao Xiang Jiang), composed by Ning Baosheng (宁保生, 1943-2009) in 1977 and adapted for the guzheng by Wang Zhongshan (王中山, b. 1968).
Hello! Do you know the instrument that starts playing at 39:46 and plays until 40:16, and comes back on again from 40:32-40:47 in this video: m.ua-cam.com/video/qCgVQ9OOZy8/v-deo.html I really like it because of how high it goes, and also because it barely has any reverberation, on most notes it’s such a little amount that it’s like there is none. It is very weird because on every youtube video I’ve seemed to find of people playing the Guzheng, Pipa, Liuqin, Guqin, or Yangqin, there is a very noticeable amount. So I don’t think it is any of those instruments, but maybe I am wrong. I would be SO greatful beyond words if you do happen to recognize it and could identify it for me. If you don’t recognize it, no worries at all! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, Zain
The guzheng sound reminds me of hiking near a mountain stream in the Sierras during springtime when the snow is melting. Thank you Jarrelle - your playing is superb!
Wow - tears running down my cheeks! "Good Job!" I had a chance to work in China in the early 2000's (Dalian) as a Wedding Photographer Poser - what a treat! I love China!! 我愛中國!
One thumb up is not enough to show my appreciation. Jerrelle, I believe you have an old soul of Chinese, maybe you were an ancient Chinese musician on previous lives.:) ( I believe reincarnation as a Buddhist ). Thank you, I hope you will travel all over the world to have performance. You are amazing!
Basic songs are about as easy to learn as to learn a piano song, but then you get to levels like this dude and everything changes. Bending the strings on the left side makes a huge difference.
4:47-4:50 bro them notes in the background had me screaming this is so good I just ordered me an Erhu I can't wait to start playing I want to master that instrument so bad I love the sound of it but there's a particular instrument that I've been needing some help finding if anybody can help me it may just be this instrument that I'm looking at I love the sound of it by the way but it looks like this one but the people that play it have two little sticks in their hands and they tap on the strings if it is this instrument that I'm looking at let me know if it's another one please Inform me any help would be much appreciated
You was a great Chinese ancient musician on your previous life time. But somehow, you made a mistake, then you come around the world following your memory sort out the footsteps back to your hometown China.
I am so drawn to this style of music, and I am just starting out learning to play Guzheng. Every string he plays resonates pure musical mastery! A true gift!
As a Chinese, I must say this dude is good as those traditional Chinese artists. What a talent.
Isin't it a skill, achieved through practice?

I have no clue if reincarnation exists or not, but if it does, I hope I get reincarnated into some sci fi futuristic astronaut
