    What is the best surface (that is inexpensive to obtain) for wedging? I’m new and when I’m wedging clay I feel like it sticks to my surface.

      Sorry, I missed this comment earlier. I use a good solid wood workbench that I have covered in cotton canvas and stapled down. I mist it with water before using so it doesn't create dust as I'm working. If it gets too wet the clay will stick. I've seen other potters use a plaster slab for wedging.

    So the creases left over where the “horns” of the rams head are, when you throw that down on a wheel, that doesn’t trap air?
