Hi, great tutorial. However, I still don't understand how converting to a STEP file and re-opening it took care of that initial error you had. Was that just something unique to this case study, or is it something that can always be utilized? Thanks again, and I'm looking forward to your response!
He goes over this @1:03 the original geometry is bad, but by exporting it out and re-importing it Solidworks re-evaluates the surfaces and in this case comes up with a better model.
You may have the handles disabled in your system settings. Open those up in SOLIDWORKS and under the Sketch settings, make sure "Enable spline tangency and curvature handles" is checked. Also, make sure that the handles aren't in a very light gray when you select the spline after sketching it. They can be easy to miss if you don't look closely. You could also potentially right-click on the spline and select "show spline handles". Hope this helps!
Thanks! What if I have a missing face? I did a surface cut and after that, one of the solid bodies is missing a face now. EDIT: Never mind, I used Filled Surface and it seems to have fixed the issue.

How do you draw a spline on surface with handles to control curvature? Doesn't seem to work in my case

@@goengineer that was the problem, thanks a lot!
You are making Solidworks power users.
Thanks, Adam and Goengineer! I always know when i hear your voice that I am getting a person who knows what they are doing.

Happy to hear you figured it out!
I think you are a master solidwork now. Havebeen 3years
