Medical Embryology - Development of the Pharyngeal Arches
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 лип 2013
- This video goes in to the pharyngeal arches, an odd group of folds that contribute a variety of structures to the face and neck. We discuss the arches and their muscular, bony, and nervous features. We then talk about the grooves (outside) and pouches (inside) that create the ears and various glands. I hope you find it helpful!
Mate this is a fantastic video and your attitude (genuine interest towards embryological development) is infectious. You've helped make a somewhat confusing topic as simple as possible but no simpler, thank you
this is absolutely redonkulously amazing. YOU ARE AMAZING. i think you reduced studying this from 3 hours to 30 minutes and i completely get it now. thank you so much!!!!
You're too good at explaining this, learned more on youtube than on uni. Greetings from Holland.
Daniël van der Waals greetings from Australia, cheers :)
van der waals?? are you a grandchildren of "the" van der waals??:D
My entire developmental anatomy class in medical school didn't give me as much information as you did in this one single video. Preparing for STEP 1...thank you...you are amazing!
I have seen many pharingeal archs videos. and for more THIS IS THE BEST ,for its simplycity and logical way of developing events and positions of developing organs.
Thank you so much
Mind = Blown!! Finally wrapped my head around this whole concept. Thank you Sir!
OK, Ignore that jerk below.....these videos are saving me in vet school. Please make more videos for more difficult concepts!!! These are incredible for visual learners like myself. Also, to the jerk below, please do not reply to this comment, I really don't care to argue with you. I am in professional school and don't have time for catty rudeness. Keep up the amazing work, my friends and I really appreciate this stuff. You seriously have like 1/3 of our class watching your videos.
Thanks! I wasn't too concerned about the comments although it is true that I could stand to drop a few pounds :-). That being said, the microphone I used in this video made all my inhalations sound super-pronounced and it is slightly off-putting. I'll see about leveling sound a bit better in the future.
Peter J Ward i havent even noticed that! all what i heard is amazing science made very easy.. thank you a Million times!
This (and all of the other videos) are absolutely amazing. Thanks so much for doing this!
Thank you so much! I have a test in two weeks, and you just saved my life! Don't stop posting these videos. :)
Have a great week.
yeah basically the sup. parathyroid glands begin at the lower 4th arch but don't move down much
while the inf. parathyroid glands start higher at the 3rd arch but end up moving down much more
so their names reflect their final positions after moving down (not their initial positions)
also great cranial nerve pathway videos really helped thank you
This is gold man, this video deserves a nobel prize!
I certainly appreciate this video too. I was having so much trouble following the university lecture and understanding the reading material. Brilliant. Thanks so much.
I'm a PBL medical student and your video helped me a lot!

Absolutely brilliant. You are a great teacher and an asset to any university.Hope you are a lecturer and making anatomy simple for fellow students.I am writing my primaries exams in Orthodontics and find your vid a great help.God bless..............
Great video. One correction though, B cells do not become T cells. Immature T cells mature in the thymus, immature B cells mature in the bone marrow.

Really great presentation!
Thank you SO MUCH! I finally understood the pharyngeal arches :D. Great explanation of this hard topic.
Nice explanation of that. Just to answer your question in the video - The inferior parathyroid gland is actually attached to the thymus which migrates inferiorly taking the gland with it. That's why it ends up under the other one.
Thank you so much! very comprehensive tutorial indeed.

Contd from previous comment. I was really curious about the reason behind the origin of the inf and sup parathyroid gland from the 3rd and the 4th arch and I actually came closer to the screen to listen more carefully and then you go,"you got me! I got no clue about that!" And i had this
