I remember when you would say five kids 6 and under! I hope your 4th grader has a great yr!! I did "essentials" at home too. We used Masterbooks LA for grammer grade 3 and 4 and then Fix It Grammer after that. We also did IEW writing.
@@PursuingPeace no, I didn't. haha! I wasn't a fan of CC's grammar program at all which is why I chose to do Masterbooks LA followed by Fix It. My oldest is going in to Ch 1 and seems okay. haha!!! Although - I will say, we also don't do Latin (which is the grammar strand in Challenge). She does vocabulary so she can play the vocab games in class, but Latin for us stops there. She has continued on with Fix It Grammar and that works great for her! And yes, you are one of my favorites on YT. ❣
We use math with confidence and I definitely understand your feelings on the games. Surprisingly the games don’t take up too much of time. I usually do one round and we will do another round after my daughter completes her work. Most of the games she loves to play. I love how she incorporated books at the end of the unit and the memory work questions we ask them daily.
I have a kiddo who I started on IEW last year, along with Fix it grammar. He has some dysgraphia and really didn’t love TGATB and all the extra writing etc. Personally I would not try to do both. I would just go with IEW. I allow him to dictate a lot of his writing on google docs and we do books and other things to get history/geo/LA. It can be so much to try to do multiplying curriculums. I’m curious how your son will like it all!

How do you use Classical Conversations if using charter funds? Isn’t it considered religious? I’m in California and can use TGAB but can’t use other religious curriculum. It’s weird. Anyway, thank you

In AZ you can use the funds for whatever type of curriculum you want. There are no religious restrictions. 😁❤️
For oversized workbooks like that, I usually just divide them into two books and then spiral bind them. Workbook A workbook B.
