The sadness in her eyes is very evident in this interview- she has clearly been affected by the negativity and toxicity after the release of her vlog, which to me, is heartbreaking. I watched her vlog and mind you I felt like a proud friend while watching her speak her mind, even though I wasn’t a fan of her before. Now I see a stronger, wiser, bolder, smarter version of a Liza. As a strong independent woman myself, I am really proud of her. She’s not even being woke, she just transitioned into something more beautiful.
But seeing her like this makes me sad, she was really misunderstood. Media, people, tabloids, they are deceitful. People don’t even have the ability to see things in a different perspective. What they want are gossips, they believe whatever fed to them. A sad reality of our society.
Liza, I hope you can read this. I hope you don’t lose your focus. You have already began to spread your wings, don’t stop just because the society tells you otherwise. Please remember that there’s still a lot of people who admires what you are right now, and who believe in you. Keep going! You are one brave of a woman!

You would never understand how powerful her words are until you know how artists come into being. She wasn't her own star when she started. She followed all the norms and she respected them by obeying all the requisites that were expected of her. I admire her courage to speak and enumerate her truth, especially about her vulnerability towards the craft she didn't even wish she would get into. Her level of self-actualization gave her the power to voice her truth and be more realistic about how she felt. She even scrutinized her capacity to act and be the character in all the movies and series she got into. She never meant ill on people. She was just misunderstood for breaking her routine of having the same walk. She needed to run. she needed to fly and for her to take off, she needed to propel herself beyond the reach of the things tagged on her as generic. She is rebranding and she may not be appreciated by all, but we see now the deeper side of who she will become as an actor.

      @twentyfour24and17 Рік тому +22

yes agreed. pero sna di nlng siya ngpakahypocrite insisting she is grateful, her vlog was contradicting sa mga “facts” she’s stating. I guess she should be conscious in her choice of words to not sound offending. Or, for me ha, walang tong pinagkaiba sa ‘thibk before you click or share’ sa social media. Yes valid ung feelings niya, that’s what she felt, pero ung tanong eh is it worth to share it?, hindi ba un TMI? or oversharing? Ano purpose mo, to shame or call out your previous management and or ABS? ung mga bagay at hinaing na dmo nasabi sa knila, now you are somehow indirectly making them aware thru social media? is that the mature way of moving forward or spreading your wings. Does she think it’s worth it to put some people in a bad light? ung naoffend sha being called as “little producer”? it sounded like she’s been holding grudge to all those ‘unpleasant culture’ in ABS and phil showbiz all this time, na hindi niya tlg natutung sakyan or magadapt (which is still her right if she didnt). If she has all these bad experiences and epiphany pde sana niya sinabi lahat to sa ex manager niya and ABS, hence she’s moving forward, pero hindi eh, what she told them is me epiphany siya, she realise she wanted to grow- period. Even Ogie walang siyang actual feedback from Liza na eto ang main reason she pushed to rebranding herself, at eto pla tlg dhilan, bakit dhil she thinks the management don’t need to know the reason, she dont owe them that explanation, ksi nga me grudge siya, hindi siya fulfilled at masaya dhil feeling niya tinali siya or kinahon siya? She was sheltered in showbiz? So her vlog message is actually for her fans to know, so she’s proactively defending herself and justifying her decisions by enumerating her bad experiences and kawalan ng growth. Sna man lang ngsabi siya sa management beforehand pra di na sila nabgla sa mga cnbi niya ngyun at wala ng issue. Cause her not choosing her battles and letting all this out on socmed is like she burned her bridges. Sna all these coming out age thing niya, she made it all positive na lang, na me mga bagay na hindi na kailangan pang sabhin or ishare. Maiintdhan nmn ng fans if this the new Liza na eh. Tgnan mo si Angel, nung lumipat or si Toni G.. for sure me bad experience sila sa old network, me reason bt sila umalis and open secret na un ksi hindi sila nggrow sa GMA noon, Angel was being overworked, si Toni pang eat bulaga lng ang peg sa knya, but then they didnt have to detail ung nging hanash nila, ksi nga what for? it’s not appropriate, it sounds ungrateful, and it’s not worth to share sa socmed. They just want to move forward and bring their best. Yes me nga nangbash prin at tumaas ang kilay, but eventually, people also realised why they left GMA, kase naging tunay na artista sila. Sna she could have left that mystery on her, she and her big mouth sinira ung boundary niya, no wonder her previous management is really guiding her well, grooming her on what to say and not, AKA PR team sila Ogie then all in one, ksi nakita na nila Liza has strong opinions, and this will not bring her to where she is now, or bka iba ang path na tinahak ng career nya or bka nging slow ang progression. just my two cents

I applaud her courage and bravery. Still wondering why there are such people can't understand the meaning of what she just said coz for me there's nothing wrong with it, It's just Liza being the Hope now as simple as that! She speaks for herself because it is the right thing to do, she was just defending herself and helping us understand why she had to do things like that, you know we always thought that some things will help us change or complete us by taking risks, we can be grateful at the same time for those opportunity and the success we've got because there are people who encourage us and supports us but you know what's the most important thing is? It's finding yourself, it's finding your own happiness, not forced, not being demanded but doing it yourself , doing the things that you love and that's what matters and if people or fans can't accept a simple fact or can't even understand a simple explanation like what she just said, then ask yourselves if you're living the life the way you want it.

Boy's interview: there's a change but i never felt empowered( 2 different things)
Her vlog: I was caged into a love team.
Bea's vlog: I got scared when they offered the movie to kath and quen. Quen is my comfort zone.. also said being caged into a love team is very dangerous for a woman's mental health😢
Boys vlog: I am grateful for the management and tito ogie and Quen....
Her vlog I sacrificed my childhood to present Liza to the world.
Boy interview: Were you forced to become an actress?, when i was 10 my dad John forced me.
It is so nice of Boy to say you were forced by the situation. So that all she need to do is agree instead of blaming her parents. Kasi baka kung ano ano nanaman masabi. Boy literally helped her not to dig deeper every time she opens her mouth. This girl needs to go home and go seek some family therapy.. to resolve her childhood traumas with her parents. This is a very genuine conversation. I can totally relate to the both of them. But I respect Liza a lot for what and where she stands. The Philippine industry, I believe is evolving and so are the actors. New breed of talents. The generation today is different and they take mental health to the heart. The seniors in the industry should probably meet the new generation half way. The world is changing. Liza is probably in a phase of transition and she is just being human. Not to say that it is ok to be ungrateful and honestly, I didnt see it that way. I saw myself in Liza. I probably wouldve done the same thing. What we all saw is a human condition. For me, I think she is smart, she is wise, she is genuine, talented and for me, we need people like her. This is probably the kind of person I would really look up to. It's all about perspective. I love her for what she stands for. And this should also be an eye opener to some film or showbiz folks. This is real. What Liza is going through is so real and have to be taken into considerations that actors are human beings too. A commodity for sure and paid for whatever it is that they have now. However, for me, this should be something that they need to take a look into. People evolve. People grow. For all its worth, we all can learn from this conversation. Someone who is wise and someone who is learning. An experienced manager and a very good actor. I hope both also learned from each other. Nice conversation. Worth investing my time. 💚

I really love Boy's line of questioning - straightforward, honest but not loaded with judgment! My perception is she got into showbiz because she needed to, not because she liked it and enjoyed it. All the years she spent in showbiz were all "work". It was only when she finally fell in love with her craft that she realised she wanted to have more creative freedom. But she grew up pretty much a puppet -- being dictated what to do and how to be -- and she just couldn't assert herself, causing conflict and dissatisfaction in her craft.

First of all it was very wise for James Reed to reach out to Boy Abunda. It was a smart move for Liza to agree to this interview as well. Like what she said, Boy is one of the wisest in the entertainment industries in the Philippines. I used to belong to the LizQuen fandom here in Northern California and on few occasions when she and Quen would do shows here, a group of us would always set aside time to spend with them such as dinners and shoppings. I wish you could have met her face to face. My reaction when I first met her was “wow, she’s so tiny” and “shy”, but once she got to know you, she’s “madaldal”, funny and beautiful. Oh by the way the family she’s referring to is her father side of the family (Filipino side) that she’s been supporting. When she’s here in the US though, she would spoil her half siblings, taking them shopping and whatever they needed. Yes, she’s that generous.
I know from our conversations with her, she had a tough time in showbiz when she first starting. Aside from her high school friends, she only has two closed friends in showbiz- Michelle Vitto and Janella Salvador. Hopie as we called her told us of many unpleasant stories she’s had to experience with fans of other “fandom” (I won’t say who), celebrities, TV and movie personalities, etc. (one of them is Vice). Some of the artista would snubbed her because she wasn’t wearing designer things. It was only when she met Mickey See and Perry Tabora that she was able to look her best and they’ve helped her. What she’s saying in this interview are all true. I saw her vlog and I didn’t see anything wrong, I guess because I’ve had knowledge before hand. I wish her all the best and I’m so glad she left Star Magic. However long it would take for her career here in the US to materialize and take off, she will succeed.

Tito Boy Abunda, before criticizing someone publicly, sana siya mismo kinausap mo not the people around her. Her feelings and opinions are valid, she didn't need to get anyone's permission to voice or express herself on her own vlog sa social media. She wasn't being an ingrate, she just being honest, providing context and herstory. What she was trying to say was that she was grateful to be famous but it came at a price, it serves as a great overview sa mga may balak mag artista at a young age. It's not all glitz and glamour. The success she had here in Philippines was due to survival mode she didn't have any fulfilling creative inputs, essentially she was prepackaged for Pinoy fans and the media to be this superstar but it was never the real her. Masakit yun na sabihan ka ng kung ano anong feedback about your craft na wala ka namang options kungdi sumunod. Now na nagkachance sya to work internationally, a smart woman like her can ascertain the difference with how showbiz is done in and outside the country, as an actress she wanted more and to grow. Our society is still very repressive sa kababaihan talaga and I like how Hope started the interview "sa lahat ng tao, I was hoping ikaw makakaintindi because of your wisdom." Very well said. But anyway, sana suportahan nlng siya gaya ng pagsusuporta kay Manny P pag lumalaban ng boksing, at pag may mga Ms. U natin lumalaban dito sa US... Ganun dapat, kasi at the end. We are still proud of them pag sumikat sila.. Good luck to you Ms. Liza S...

After this interview, I feel like this should be her last interview and just go with what she wants. Show the world she will achieve her dreams and goals. I feel like she will do a lot with all the guts and all the things she went through to speak her mind.

Not a fan until I witnessed your bravery. Tho pain is visible in your eyes, I admire how you were able to show honesty, and genuineness. You are just sharing who you are and who you wanted to be, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
    Keep slaying Liza/ Hope!
    Rooting for you!❤

She realized what she’s capable of and that she can do many more things than being a “puppet” & away from toxic PH celeb culture. Go Liza!
