Wonderful episode. For the jewelry that Queen Elizabeth would have received as a personal gifts - such as the sapphires from her father - would she have put that into the family trust versus leaving it to family members? It’s sad to think such historic pieces could be lost if people auction them to pay debt or death taxes.

She collected a marvellous amount of jewelry. Marvellous. And I am glad they all belong or passed on to Queen Elizabeth 11. They belong to the Queen and not the State Royal Jewels.
The sapphire tiara was originally a necklace made for Princess louise of Belgium hence the shape. It probably had the elements soldered into a static appearance to maintain the shape on the tiara frame.

Personally, I hope The Princess of Wales will have the tiara re-modelled when she becomes Queen. I actually don't like it in its current form. Too top heavy.
