Thank you for posting this. Mary Karr is wonderful and brilliant. I spent some of the most wonderful times of my childhood in southeast Texas. My circumstances were much more functional and supportive than hers, until I was eight years old, but I can totally relate to the culture from which she sprang.

This was a great interview and I don't really read memoirs. I'll look into them now though, especially the memoirs mentioned.
