Thank you Brooke for posting this to UA-cam. I was sorry I couldn't see her in person. I love her new book, The Art of Memoir and this made me feel like I was there with you all.
What an amazing interview Brooke. I watched the entire interview. Very captivating and entertaining. Mary Karr is a wonderful soul, entertaining and funny. You are a great interviewer. Thank You for this.
Thank-you too for posting this* I came across this author through a psychological source online. The author in other words according to them was quote forced into the roll of care giver for her parents sakes. If you note she does not allow herself to be as vulnerable as some might be. For someone who has had to take over for neglectful parents denying her truer self. My Mom and Dad did this to me too. Only I was not to leave the nest and wound up the quote Mother indirectly guilt ridden and am 65 years old now. People deny others the painful truths of life in our society because they are afraid of the truth. A truth that they also may have suffered. It is imperative to recognize that your truth is often buried in darkness and the truer self as well. I know from personal experience and have read of the examples of many of us who had considered themselves normal healthy people.
Brook Warner mentioned sending pages to people in her past, like the shirt, and flavor of the gum. I haven’t seen anyone I can send pages to, most of them are dead now, what is someone to do?

Thanks so much, Benny. So much agreed about Mary. She's easy to interview, too.
